Following in the footsteps of Middlesbrough and Fulham in great Europa League comebacks ;)

I jest...fair play, good news for coefficient etc. Hope they go out next round.

Fantastic game and Klopp is really getting those players to buy into something that could be quite special. Felt inevitable that they'd get the winner and it was quite the spectacle pre-match.

Liverpool might be able to take advantage of the top teams all having new coaches (presumably) next season if they're willing to spend a bit of money.

Unlikely as it is, if city and Liverpool finish outside top four, but win cl and el respectively, then team in fourth will be demoted into Europa league

Wait....

so Man United could conceivably finish fourth but be kept out of the Champions League by Man City winning the Champions League AND Liverpool winning the Europa League.

I think I could live with that.

That's right...it would be 2012 esque, but nowhere near as enjoyable

Liverpool think they have won it after tonight...seem to be forgetting that Sevilla, who have won it the last two years, are through to semis for starters...you should check out decisive penalty in the shoot-out...awesome strike despite the pressure

Was in a Wetherspoon pub tonight none of us even mentioned Liverpool and of course they don't show sport in these pubs. Got home Liverpool two down after nine minutes I'm in hysterics. Absolutely devastated at what happened apart from the result the Istanbul comparison bollocks, the atmosphere which from what I saw was pin drop quiet apart from the Dortmund fans and to rub salt in the wounds the musings of the monosyllabic Robbie rat boy Fowler

So sensitive Jamie carragher rings up talksport to give jason cundy a bit of stick cos jase, while commending Liverpool for going through, put a few gloating ott fans in their place that they hadn't won league for 26 years and need dose of reality...anyway during chat, carragher wheels out same old sh*t about chelsea knowing Jose is chelsea fan saying well you've got no history...what a pillock

I feel terrible for them.

I went back and reviewed this game a while ago, suspicious game, dummy UEFA report correctly predicted the score line, correctly predicted a late winner and correctly predicted all but one of our players who would be carded. Also, it was actually six penalties that Ovrebo turned down, Essien was partly to blame for their goal, still I think Ovrebo was told not to give us penalties, or words to that effect, he sent off a Barca player to soften the blow, there's no way you turn down six potential, some clear as day penalties and don't have some agenda. To top it all off, lies were spread about Ovrebo receiving death threats and hiding in his hotel room, then having to be smuggled home, did a little research and apparently none of that happened, sounds like they were trying to switch the focus and make Ovrebo the victim.

the monosyllabic Robbie rat boy Fowler

He's one of the worst of that lot, they have quite a few muppets though, Aldridge for example, just wish Le Saux had hit Fowler harder, shame really.

Not surprised Charrager would stoop that low, obviously can't say it to the likes of Lampard, when they're sat right next to them. Don't know what it is with the dippers, they don't seem to understand that other clubs don't want their history, we're proud of our own. We worked our way up from div 2 and scrapped hard for our success, f*ck um.

I'm sure every club in Europe is envious of Liverpool's illustrious istoree... Heysel, anyone?

Of course Liverpool fans would never use a football tragedy to point score... never.

The juxtaposition of the 'don't buy the sun' and 1986 banner here is particularly galling.

It's like Liverpool fans feel that everyone outside their club should care about them and their history, they can't seem to accept that nobody really gives a sh*t about them. They really do buy into the delusion that they are universally loved. They need to open their eyes, football fans see them as a joke, there is a reason why things like RAWK Meltdown exist.

They truly believe they are the only club that have experiences like they had last night. They only actually started singing when things started going their way, before that, they were almost silent. Us, United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Dortmund, Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, all of these clubs have much better European nights in recent years than they have, this was probably their first good European night since they beat us in the penalty shoot-out years ago. They make out that one decent win is the greatest thing that can happen in football, it maybe that way to them, but outside of their club it's a totally different story. They must be so full of themselves if they truly think we should care about them.

f**king idiots, every time they get one good win under their belt they turn into complete twats, they just can't help themselves. Hopefully they go out in the next round comfortably, that should shut them up until the inevitable "it's our year" comes up again in July and August.

Oh, and i love it when Jason Cundy get's Liverpool fans and ex players so annoyed. There is nothing better than having one of our own get under their skin when they go through their delusional moments.

Great post Scott.

Sums them up perfectly and why I despise them so much.

I woke up this morning. Realised what happened last night and that I have to face liverpool fans today. Absolute w*nkers. Scotts post actually sums it right up. I nearly threw up in my mouth watching them sing ynwa and then twitter was even worse.

That doesn't necessarily mean anything.

For one, you can be disabled and still be able to stand, even if only for short periods of time.

Secondly, disabled people who attend games very often bring a carer who sits next to them.

Thirdly, I quite often sit in the disabled seats at Leicester City myself (as staff) as they are a) closer to the walkway and b) they are usually the only empty seats.

One thing I'd add to this very good point, is that as we saw last night and memorably in 2014, it is also the fault of the media...they seem to think we are all lovers of this club and want them to do well/win trophies...the BT coverage last night was nauseating to say the least and as I posted during the game, made me question whether I'd subscribed to Liverpool TV instead...all the cliches about the Kop, glorious atmosphere, special European nights were trotted out when the evidence was clear to hear for virtually 90 minutes that it was anything but...it was actually a terrible example of 'sing when you're winning'...(true support is signing when you know you're fcuked - eg Chelsea for most of this season and to use Europe comparison - the PSG match).

Of course we saw the same bollox in 2014, when sky and the national media all decided that all the 'neutrals' wanted them to win the League...will never forget how martin Tyler's commentary would be in total ecstasy when Liverpool would score and then sound suicidal if opponent scored against them - see Man City game at Anfield.

Thankfully, we came to the rescue to ruin their fcuking party back then...just hope one of Sevilla, Shakhtar or Vilarreal do it this year
