Also the club is much less likely to play them usually regardless of talent. Kenedy has only played 1 game for Watford this season, I think we should get him back as a second choice LWB.

You're right, lets forget about all the fantastic games he had for Chelsea last year and gauge him on one poor loan spell. I'm glad Moses and Chalobah didn't make it here after their poor loan spells as well.
November 6, 20169 yr Two assists in the Europa League, his Whoscored ratings put him as 26th best player in the Eredivisie (7,32) and 8th best player in the Europa League (7,89). His not lighting it up, but I've seen him play and in no world is he anywhere close to Ajax's worst players. If you don't believe me at least look at his stats. He has been moved to RW lately and that seems to fit him much better. Also he had a few weaker games when he just got there, but he has definitely improved since then. Adjustment period anyone? And regarding what Ajax fans think of him. A few quotes from the Ajax forum (non-moderated, just the last 10 comments), the view of the player is much more nuanced, some love him, some hate him, some don't have an opinion yet: 1. "I concur - I also have a love/hate relationship. He can play football. Everyone can see that. He has unparalleled vision, ball handling and knows how to trap the ball. Can change the game with one pass with the outside of his foot. Be he seems very casual, he doesn't seem to be trying. (...) His upside is higher than that of Younes or Ghazi, but he needs to involve himself more." 2. "90% of what he does, he does wrong. Always running with his head down, never looks where he passes." 3. "Speak for yourself kiddo! The boy is such a terribly good footballer and especially yesterday with his two crucial assists." 4. "Works pretty hard and is technically very gifted. He looks lacksadaisical, but thats because he makes things look so easy." 5. "Needs to work his lax attitude out and the boy will be an asset to any club." 6. "Really loved him playing for the team, instead of just going for goal. If he continues with his dribbling and speed on the ball he will remain a constant danger. The assist to Ziyech was off of a delicious pass. Nice to see." And his two assists here: Edited November 6, 20169 yr by Jon Stakes
November 6, 20169 yr And Traore scores this beauty. His technique on the goal is sublime, said it before: Thierry Henry.
November 20, 20169 yr The only thing I'd say is that the guy is still only 21 years old, the lack of patience from football fans nowadays is staggering.

Although i don't disagree with that statement per se and im not basing what im about to say on Traore, but it seems every young player gets molecodduled by that status, some players young or not will quite evidently never be good enough yet because they are under 24 we have to hold our horses just incase they morph into JT overnight. Oscar is the prime example, he was just as bad in his first season yet only now he's 25 and beyond the age he can be passed off as young everyone finally accepts what's been staring us in the face since day dot.
November 20, 20169 yr Next season he shouod be competing with Pedro for that RW spot. No offence to Pedro but its a clear area of weakness in this formation.

Whut? Have you seen Pedro since we switched formation? He's been lethal I agree though that Traore should compete for that position next season, but Pedro in his current form isn't droppable
November 23, 20169 yr If Conte had knew we could switch to the 3-4-3 formation he would have kept Traore around. Unfortunately now we have mostly players that can play in the central while we have little players that can play on the wings.

Well If you mean in the wingback position then yes, we're a little scant if moses or alonso are out, but in the forward positions, which arent really wide positions, more inside forwards, we are pretty stacked with players in Michy, Willian, Oscar Hazard, Costa, Loftus Cheek, Pedro, Solanke. I feel we should recall kenedy or Baba as cover though

November 25, 20169 yr I agree, Traore can be world class, but at the moment, Pedro is significantly better than him and is playing very well
January 28, 20179 yr need to bump this thread back up - Young Traore's Burkina Faso is now in the Semis of the Africa Cup of Nations - Traore is a starter for this side & is very influential in the attack of The Stallions from Burkina Faso

He got two assists on both goals as well, albeit one of those assists is well... hardly worth the word 'assist'. His dribbling was brilliant as was his passing. Insert other media Best game I've seen from him for some time. Edited January 28, 20179 yr by Jon Stakes

Originally had my doubts over Alonso but he's changed my mind, looks like a very dependable LWB
February 2, 20179 yr Feel bad for him, missed the 5th penalty and Burkina Faso lost. But he had a good tournament, he has to keep belief in himself, even the best players in the world missing penalties and losing cups.
February 7, 20179 yr Traore got in the ACON team of the tournament. Has anyone been keeping tabs on him at Ajax? I think he would be useful as a squad player for anywhere in the front 3 in the future.
February 7, 20179 yr In our current system he has to be an option. Him, hazard, willian and Pedro. 4 players for 2 positions.

February 9, 20179 yr Without being too harsh, when you look at the calibre of players at the tournament and the standard of football its not too surprising to see how Traore got into the TOTT. Although i rate him highly he's merely a rough diamond in a pile rocks at the AFCON.
