West Brom vs. Chelsea (PL) 23/08/15 KO 13:30 BST

Featured Replies

I would go:

Courtois

Azpilicueta    Cahill    Terry    Rahman

Matic

Fabregas    Willian

Pedro    Costa    Hazard

That's a 4-3-3 formation

No disrespect to WBA but we are chelsea, why are we changing our game to try and beat a mid-table team? With the players we have we should be beating teams like this easy!! When was the last time bayern, barca, real, man city or another serious title contender went to a mid table team and thought we will change it all to be this lot??? It won't happen.

Jose adapts to each game he will pick the formation he thinks gives us the best chance of winning, he is the best in the world at adapting to how the game is going.

Your attitude is horrible. The marginal are very very small. Smaller than the difference in their paychecks. Glad you are not the manager.

Knowing Jose he will start the same team we had in the previous games.Baba won't start and Pedro won't start against WBA,we will field the same team and only change it if we go a goal down.

Normally yes you're right, but I think because the fans and clearly the owner are pissed off at the fist two performances that there is pressure on him to make some changes, people like to suggest it's a coincidence we got 2 players right after city humped us, it's not, we are a global brand and our fan base is essential to being able to spend, most of our fans now are foreign and change clubs like the weather we are forced to please them and to attract new fans constantly, our first 2 performances didn't do that, this is now a pure business, and that's just reality under ffp.

I don't expect Pedro to start, because this will be his first taste of the EPL. However after watching for about 60-75 minutes, I expect a debut regardless of the score.

guardiola is known for this. i believe he's even changed formation during a game (don't quote me on that!). I think it keeps things fresh and keeps opposing managers guessing. maybe jose just feels that they've become a bit too predictable.

So is Mou, dont you remember Real vs Man U when they went down to 10 men, fergie didn't even notice and they scored immediately

Looking forward to this one. First time I've felt nipple tingling anticipation this season. I've been as sluggish as the players which I guess is why it's good for everyone to get a couple of new signings (Falcao being underwhelming in the extreme and hard to get the thickening for a reserve keeper even if he is decent.)

Come on you blues, let's rip them a new one!

Wow there are still people who care about the sham that is ffp? It's best use was when some guy blamed ffp on us having an expensive 29 year old reserve LB instead of someone better than Mikel. That makes sense.

Can Zouma control or calm anything just like he did against Man City?

We don't need him to because if he can support Matic by adding pace and physical strength to that area then we will probably be dominating the game anyway.

I think the club policy reflects that they care about ffp, not sure what you were getting at?

Changing formation because we lost 2 games makes a compete mockery of pre season really. Seems to me that it's all a bit of over reaction again from our club. You can't change a formation that is tried and tested coz we took a bashing at city and got a draw at home on the opening day. Look at when van gaal changed uniteds formation that they had used for years!!! We've played 180 minutes of football and got 1 point. It's obviously not good but according to people on here we have to drop most of the defence (the same defence that won the lge easily last year) and completely change our formation!! It's madness!!!

I am all for changing , if it gets our defence further up the pitch closer to the midfield and not sitting deep due to a lack of pace , then i will like to see some evolution.

We have conceded 5 goals in 2 games which shows how poor we are defensively. And both Fabregas and Matic are not at there best which is why playing Fabregas with Matic make things worse. If its just about Zouma's pace and physical ability, i will still not pair him with Matic in that position because of his inexperience. I will rather have Mikel there because whenever our defence is under pressure, he is more devoted to assisting the defenders and he is always willing to cover up for any of our back 4 who overlap or is out of place. I believe if we can stop conceding goals, we wont have problem scoring at the other end especially with Pedro in the team

Ancelotti was after the last game off season at Everton.

Di Matteo like AVB was after WBA

Yes, but my post was referring to him being the last Chelsea manager to win at The Hawthorns.

Time to start our season today, I'd like to see Pedro start this as he will be hungry to show what he can do and his hunger could well rub off on the rest of the team.

0-3 with Goals from Hazard, Costa and the new boy.
