Who to buy in the next transfer window and who to sell ?

Featured Replies

That would be true. Remember the days when Lampard was out injured and we'd have Essien, Mikel and Ballack as the midfield three? We always struggled for chances.

And Ballack could even score a good goal or 2

Whoever we acquire in the winter, I only ask one thing, let's see them actually playing football and not sat on the bench every week.

To be fair, Mourinho tried playing Cuadrado, he was just so unbelievably bad that he couldnt continue giving him time

Maybe even Messi would struggle in this team atm ?

While we have some great players our team is slightly unbalanced

I'm not sure what will happen in the Winter regarding players coming in but i'm hoping for a big summer that's been planned in advance to help us get back to the top of not only English football but also world football

Ideally I would like is try and bring in around 4 players..Ball playing CB, a fullback which depends on the Ivanovic situation, a strong box to box midfielder and a back up striker

For the CB, I would be looking at the likes of Stones, Varane, Laporte or Marquinhos. All very comfortable on the ball and would compliment Zouma well. Varane would be my first choice but he's highly unrealistic, my 2nd choice would like Stones because he's English but he's also very talented

For fullback, and this obviously depends if Ivanovic goes, I would like to see Fabio Coentrao brought in. He wouldn't be too expensive and he's worked with Mourinho before

I think midfield is one of the most important areas we need to strengthen, we seriously lack a top class box to box midfielder. My number one choice would be Pogba, I'm not sure how realistic it would be but we were prepared to pay big money for him in the Summer and I believe he would take our team to the next level, a midfield 3 of Matic, Cesc and Pogba would be one of the best in the world

And for backup striker I would take a serious look at Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I think he only has a year left on his contract so potentially could get him on a free. While he's 34, he's still a top class striker. 30 goals in 35 games last season and 7 in 11 this season. He's never played in England before and I think he would be very interested to prove himself and has a great relationship with Mourinho. All depends if his wages wouldn't be too high and if he would be happy not being guaranteed a starting spot

.....................Courtois,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,..

Azpi.......Stones...Zouma.....Coentrao

........................Matic..........................

..............Fabregas,,Pogba................

Willian/Pedro...........................Hazard

..................Costa/Zlatan...................

Then you would have the likes of Begovic, Baba, Terry, Cahill, Ramires, Oscar, Kennedy, RLC, Traore, Remy as squad options

I'm not sure how realistic that is and if we could even afford it, Coentrao would likely cost around 15 million, Stones around 30-40 million, Pogba around 50-70 million and Zlatan would be free. So your potentially looking at just over 100 million. Obviously those are just estimates and we might have to sell some players to raise money

That squad with Mourinho as our manager would be able to compete with the very best in the world, It has a good mix of young players and experience

I'd buy Shelvy, box to box midfielder, scores a few goals, gets stuck in, proven in the Prem etc. would be a good partner for Matic.

I'd also buy Skrtyl(?) off the scousers, their best defender by far, weakens them and strengthens us, win win!

I genuinly cannot tell if youre serious or not. Youre taking the piss right?

Nope, always plays well when I've watched him, has presence, makes things happen, fairly good long passer, better than Ramires, Mikel and Cesc.

Wish we could be like Athletico Madrid or what United did with Martial. Scout some hidden gems instead of the big names.

We kind if did with lukaku. Atletico have angel correa who is starting to impress. In terms of off the radar milik is a very promising prospect, good finisher, and good technique considering his height. Already been capped by Poland and has rather unsuprizinly labelled the next lewandowski.

Wow.

I've seen Milik a few times but he is nowhere near the level if you ask me. I honestly don't think he'd be good enough for the reserves.

Even Ajax aren't very happy with him.

@Sparkz - a part of your post (above) is quoted on page 66 of today's 'i' newspaper. 50p from good newsagents...

Fair enough, I haven't much of him tbh. Have you seen much of embolo from basel? I've only seen him play against Liverpool a couple of seasons ago, but he is also very highly regarded.

The thing with him is that he needs space. His ball control is awful and so are his dribbling abilities. He takes too much time on the ball and he can't do anything with his right foot. He does have a fairly good shot on him with his left though.

I've only seen two or three matches of Embolo so I can't really comment on him.

To sell;

Diego Costa

Cesc Fabregas

Jon Obi Mikel

Ivanovich

Remy

RLC

To buy:

Pogba for a world record transfer fee

Bale for close to a world record transfer fee

Stones

A world class centre forward, though who that is I don't know.

If we could pick up Ross Barkley and/or Aaron Ramsey wouldn't be disappointed with that.
