Christiensen always has looked a classy centre back. I think he has been over looked for us due to his size more than anything.

He and Zouma on paper would be a great pairing going forward, but I think we need an experienced top centre back right now.

I don't think stones would be the answer, I was all for stones in the summer, when we still had an inform jt to give the defence some leadership.

I don't think jt will play beyond this season, certainly not as a regular starter anyway.

Doubt we'll be able to put things right in January given that major deals are rarely done in the winter window.

 

In the long term we need a left back the manager feels can start. A central defender to replace Terry. A defensive midfielder to replace Mikel. Two strikers to replace Falcao and Remy. And a couple of AMs to rotate with Hazard and Willian.

 

Really should have done most of this last window if the Board hadn't made such a pig's ear of things.

personally, i think verratti would get trodden over in this league. he's good in the occasional european game and in the french league, but there's even more physical players in this league. we need someone a lot more physically commanding, as well as being technically adept.

On the basis of this you must not have watched him play all to often?

 

He is constantly around the ball wanting to affect it both offensively and defensively. He is terrier like and certainly will not be a pushover. We have Matic, who at his best is one of the best physical Cms out there. We have no one who can dictate games for us and control our tempo and play.

 

Note that fabregas puts him in his ultimate world 11. Fair compliment.

I think he'd be an improvement over Fabregas tbh... knows when to put his foot in, keeps it simple, doesn't f**k about - reckon we need a few like him.

A commanding centre back, a strong but technical centre midfielder, and a striker that can offer something a little different from the bench.

Bamford is not even able to nail a regular spot in Crystal Palace. Ditto Ake who is only in cos of the injury to Watfords #1 LB. Ditto Van Ginkel. I will consider it a success if RLC and Kennedy become a regular in our team. These youngsters hopefully do make it into our team but not now. They need to be regulars.

 

The team does need some experienced player in his prime who is physical and has enough game time to keep a calm and collective head.

Hopefully he does turn out a starter for us but it won't be till 2017 as his loan there was for 2 seasons.

Bamford cannot even get a start at Palace. Van ginkel struggling against players like Charlie Adam & Glenn Whelan. Ake not looking fantastic at LB for Watford. Why would these players be good enough for us?

All those teams you listed are above us in the table so atm those players are competing with a little more quality than they would here
