On the basis of this you must not have watched him play all to often?

 

He is constantly around the ball wanting to affect it both offensively and defensively. He is terrier like and certainly will not be a pushover. We have Matic, who at his best is one of the best physical Cms out there. We have no one who can dictate games for us and control our tempo and play.

 

Note that fabregas puts him in his ultimate world 11. Fair compliment.

 

Veratti is one of those players that gets under my skin when we play against him.  Much like Costa was.  Chiellini too.

I think we need a real top quality CM to partner Matic. Mikel and Ramires just aren't quite good enough to be starting particularly often, and Fabregas is pretty useless in this 2-man DM system.

 

We also need to get rid of Falcao and get in a top quality striker to compete with Costa, because Diego is just looking poor at the moment and he has no real competition since if he's fit, he starts.

He has played over 300 games for us and won more trophies than he can count on his hands. Useless

love for us to sign the man in my avi, was brilliant vs arsenal last night. wonderful player and be a dream to have him here. doubt it would happen though, unless we got pep.

If we change system to 433, we would be much better. Our current set of midfielders can't effectively play in the pivot system except Matic is a natural DM (RLC is ok but workrate is a bit lacking). Ramires, Mikel, Cesc struggle to keep shape and win the ball in our current system

Yeah we are desperate for more passing ability in midfield. Fabregas gives us that, but hes such a liability defensively and without him further up the field theres nobody that can move the ball around with some pace. I thought for a while RLC could do it, but hes not a Mourinho type player so we are better off moving him on and find somebody that is.

I wonder what that Andre Gomes is doing in Valencia this season... I'm tired of always having a go at Ramires, but there's got to be someone better around for a decent price.

^ Good call on Andre Gomes; there are quite a few potentially world class CMs out there like Tielemans & Neves but we are talking about Jose here, they won't be ready for him till they are 24. Considering he has just been handed a new contract, I reckon he will be here for a very long time as he is Jose's type of player.

To be fair we do need players whom we know have top quality and maintained that over the years instead of youngsters who have shown it for one season.

One thing is for sure , It is going to be a massive window for Jose , if in fact, he is still here.

Fixtures are quite generous leading up to Xmas. If we can just get on a mini run and pick some confidence up until January then go and break the bank for what we need

He has played under half the minutes available to him since he has arrived and i was unaware he won those trophies single-handedly.

Well nobody is saying hes the first name on the team sheet. Id rather we keep him around than buy someone to sub 20 times a season.

A top midfielder, a decent backup to Costa and maybe a backup LB. Although I'd be more pleased if we took this season as a transitional one (in terms of club philosophy) and gave our youngsters RLC, Kenedy, Traore more minutes to help them grow. That would show how the club is committed to developing young talent and how Jose could actually think long term.

Aubameyang at Dortmund is a great striker. May be possible to lure him away from them in january.

That would be true. Remember the days when Lampard was out injured and we'd have Essien, Mikel and Ballack as the midfield three? We always struggled for chances.
