Ronald Koeman has come out and said he wants the job. He's asked Guus to put a good word in for him. Surprised he's been so open about it all, can't imagine it going down well with Southampton.

Not sure I would be too impressed with Koeman. He has done a good job with Southampton and has won trophies in Holland and Spain. Doesn't strike me a top 4 manager though.

Hes done well almost everywhere he's been. But he also hasnt managed any top clubs so its hard to trust he'd be capable at a club this size.

Honestly Id rather him than most of the names mentioned here.

Yeah I think that's the thing, he has done well and won some trophies. It's just whether he can do it at a big club or not.

I can't see Roman going for him personally.

We are not going to get any of the superstar managers that people want. Ronald Koeman has proven he is a good manager, if he wants to come here the club would be stupid to say no.

Koeman for me would be a great choice, I like the way he is and we don't need the drama Simeone would bring.

I think Roman wants Guardiola but he's more likely City bound.

I would like to see what Mancini could do at Chelsea. He brought Silva, Aguero and Toure to City so he's got an eye for a "good" player when he sees on.

What a fantastic judge of footballing ability he is to discover those hidden gems!

Surely you mean he got the wallet to bring them to City?

I would love to see Zola have a crack the fans will back him 100% but I supose the owners and players don't want another Jose so it's not gunna happen :(

Zola is managing in Qatar or some other backwater league. His career is pretty much over. No way he should get this job at the moment.

Nice to see someone wants it.

fair enough, but we also had the money and were too slow off the mark while making torres our main acquisition. hindsight is a wonderful thing of course.

we're running out of options and mancini is a good manager and is epl proven. i think he would be a decent appointment imo.

Haven't read all posts so it's probably been already said. What about that Italian gentleman at Leicester? He seems to be doing a great job. Oh. Hang on. I think we've already tried him.

This is totally bull sh*t. He already dismissed that roumor.

To be hones I would love Lester to win PL this season!

Same here although I want it because I want to see the hysterics and b*tthurt from City and Le' arse fans.

I was listening to the press pass on Talksport and they have an interesting assessment of the options out there and the type of manager Chelsea want.

They basically said that Chelsea are believed to want a calmer manager after Jose - not a combative, controversial manager.

They said Simone and Allegri, whilst good managers, might too controversial for the club. They seemed to think Conte had a good chance and also said Mark Hughes could be in the running and has been close to getting the job a few times. Conte, Pellers and Hughes all have a good chance.

Personally I can see us going for Conte rather than Hughes. Roman likes a foreign manager. Time will tell but I can understand why they would want a calmer manager after Jose.
