Ok, so I'm finally able to see beyond José, I used up all my tears :)

My first choice would be an old Chelsea boy like Zola but that's obviously not realistic. It seems to be the trend though and I'd love giving a second term to Robbie.

From the top managers in Europe (if you exclude all our exes it's a short list ;) my choice would be Simeone for quite obvious reasons. Or maybe we could give a chance to Sparky, he's doing very good work with Stoke and he's also in my first category. If it doesn't work out we can always sack him in 1-2 seasons ;)

Been linked with Massimiliano Allegri, the Juventus coach this morning.

Hoping there's nothing to it, he was woeful at AC Milan, embarrassingly so and no one is too sure how he manages to get the Juve job. He initially piggybacked on Conte's success but they've regressed the longer he's been there.

Judging by the votes I'm in a minority but I don't think Simeone is a good 'fit' for the club. I think it depends on what direction the club wants to take, if thinking short term (2 or 3 years) then Guardiola is the only option for me. But if the club wants to take a 'longer term' view I don't think we could do worse than Sparky with Steve Holland continuing as assistant (perhaps with Guus Hiddink 'moving upstairs' into a technical director role?).

I want a manager who will provide us with successful, dynamic football. My choice would have been Ancellotti, he played nice football and gave youngsters a chance last time he was here (McEachran). Not sure about Simone or Pelligrini (should have done better with Citeh). Given Guardiola seems to be out of reach, what about trying someone like Flores from Watford, he's got them playing well above themselves?

Of those I know about id be most happy with pochetino or pep, Flores also impressing. Wouldn't hate sparky either. Guus could stay for a couple of years even though 70 and bring on blue blood, Zola?

Don't want simeone, Pellegrini or even Carlo.

Whilst I wanted Jose to stay his lack of adventure and taking the game to teams frustrated. Sometimes we seemed to only play when pushed in to a corner or after half time. It could be boring. I want a manager that will attack. Simeone to me isn't this man. Pellegrini sends me to sleep talking and I think is uninspiring. Carlo I think is a backward step.

Jokes about Postecoglou (most probably don't know who he is even) and as pointed out he doesn't have the pedigree but I think would do well at a decent European club as I rate him totally, and has wonderful attitude to youth.

It's a shame that Mark Hiughes hasn't won a trophy and would be a choice. He always comes across well and his teams are always difficult to beat. I quite like him but I doubt Roman would go for him as he hasn't won anything.

Hes like 70 years old. Long term is the operative world

We'll never have a long term manager though, no club will anymore. The max any manager seem's to get these day's is 5 years. If Hiddink does a good job then i would be fine with him taking over full time.

Just to clarify, whsn i started this thread i meant to say next permanent manager, but couldn't remember the word for some reason.

Agree with this, if hiddink has another 3 years in him, then that's as long term as it gets anyway.

Little known fact. Hughes was a Chelsea fan as a boy. Admired him greatly as a player and think he carries himself with real dignity. He would soon show Costa what a real-life hardman forward was.

Nowhere near bling enough for Roman though. In fact part of me suspects Roman wouldn't even know who he was.

Yeah I don't think he would get near the Chelsea job, particularly as he got sacked by City and hasn't won a trophy. Roman only goes for permanent managers that has won something.

He does come across well and always seems to do a good job whenever he goes.

Lets give Guus our fullest support and respect ........instead of speculating on who his replacement is gonna be.

Sadly the old days of clubs having the same manager for more than 3 years is very rare. I would love to see one of our own, aka take your pick from .......Didier, Sir Frank, JT, Ballack or any one of old Chelsea boys to take the helm after Guus. But for now let's all support Guus and fingers crossed we win the double ....the champions league and the fa cup !

i like poch but spuds are likely to get ucl spot this year so theres no reason for him to leave, koeman's also a good shoutout

but if we can finish top 8 and above the dippers i'm all in on guus

This whole post is highly inaccurate.

Allegri is a fantastic coach.

With Pep, now openly stating at Bayern, that he wants/needs a new challenge and that this will likely be in England, we just need to get to the front of the queue.

He'd certainly have more of a challenge at Chelsea (rebuilding of team, dealing with Emanalo, rebuilding of the Bridge and reporting to Roman.) What more of a challenge could he possibly need ???
