Man United vs Chelsea (PL) 28/12/15 KO: 17:30 BST

We can't handle pressing on our midfield or defenders. Look completely lost for what to do next when they come at us. Giving them acres of space everywhere

Very bad half although we grew into it during the last ten or so minutes. For the majority of that half it seemed like our players had completely forgotten the concept of pressing or cutting off passing angles. If we're playing for a 0-0 then I suppose we're not doing too badly, but it is making for a very uncomfortable watch.

Credit to Terry, Zouma, Mikel and Matic (and to some extent Azpilicueta) for limiting them to a single shot on target (albeit with two which hit the woodwork). Our attack have been appalling although are to some extent exempt from blame considering that this front four will only be able to implement an effective counter attacking game if we pass to feet (and do it well). Man Utd aren't allowing us enough space to do this, and the times we do get it forward we tend to lose it sloppily (Oscar being particularly guilty).

I think we either need to switch our strategy to something more possession-based, which would better suit our front four, put Ramires in midfield to press more aggressive, and perhaps to put Pedro or Willian (or Traoré, as I imagine the majority vote will be) up top to pressurise Smalling and Blind with their pace. Alternatively we need a target man up front, and our only real option seems to be Ivanovic.

As makeshift as it may be, if we don't deem ourselves capable of executing our first half strategy (assuming there is one) or the possession one then we really have to give this a a go - Ramires on for Oscar, Willian moved central and Ivanovic up front. Absurd that this is what we've been reduced to. If it works however, Hiddink will go down as a genius.

I don't understand, why did we look like a team who can't play football again? where is that little 1-2 interplay with nice movement we know that this team is capable of?

I hate it when we're playing like now, all the players are too passive and back again without offensive gameplan..

I just cna't even see how the management thought we would stand a chance lining up like this. All that happens time after time after time is we send the ball forward, they win it in the air and they attack us. They are overloading us out wide with overlapping fullbacks, they are pressing us every time we get the ball and we just panic and give it straight back, whilst in the other direction when we try to press them, they just pass it around us easily. There is literally no movement going forwards at all, if by some miracle Hazard or Pedro gets into the final third, there is nothing but red shirts, not a blue in sight.

And we've got another 5 months of this sh*t before the season is finally over.

lampsy rolling over his grave right now

probably shouting "shoot" when we get close to the box, he would have. never afraid to shoot was frank.

Schneiderlin is a great, great player. Exactly the type we need in the middle. Very good defensively, has a great pass on him and excellent workrate

He's been incredible, ridiculous how he hasn't played much for us.

I think there's a lot of overeacting going on here tbh. It wasn't great but I wouldnt say United have dominated. Both teams have been poor in the final 3rd.

We aren't suddenly going to start smashing teams after being so poor for most the season.

We came out well, but missed an early chance with Blind. If we now come out and attack...with a change or so....

I once thought my football understanding was lacking, but ....

Come...on...you...BLUES!

Not bad, but we always look clueless in the final 3rd when we start without a striker.

I'd have took a draw before kick off.

You're right, it's not bad. It's f**king woeful.

All the money in the world and that is the size of his tv.........come on Lamps, you can do better than that

That's what I was thinking lol you can see the furniture was built for a bigger TV

Yeah, he seems like the best fit as a partner for any one of your other centre mids. Schneiderlin-Herrera could be sexy!

Errr they should be at least 2 ahead and have triple the amount of passes than we did

They are most certainty dominating us and I honestly can't see how that's in question
