PSG vs. Chelsea (CL) 16/02/16 KO: 19:45 BST

You know that feeling of "your names on the trophy", I get that feeling with PSG, after the awful year the residents of Paris have had, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

We need to soak up pressure and spring out on the counter, yes it's an obvious tactic that will not surprise them, but we can surprise them and be less obvious with our team formation.

We cannot rely on our home leg to make up any deficit, we need to surprise them in the first leg, they will be expecting a compact and compressed Chelsea team, they will set up to break us down, but we have Cesc for the out ball, and we have got the quality and speed up front to get on the end of them. But we have to widen the pitch up, we can't afford to give up the wings, we have to go for the win in Paris.

---------------------Tibo

---------Ivanovic---Cahill---Terry-----------

Dave-------------------------------------Baba

----------------Mikel----Matic

----------------------Cesc

------Willian----------------------Hazard

----------------------Costa

I think this team would win. Seeing as we'll be fielding 12 players.

Good point, drop Mikel. Swap him with Matic after an hour, because Matic always gets knackered.

Not normally negative but we couldn't beat them when we were actually in good form and playing well, can't see how we can beat them now. Gonna need some luck to go our way.

I'll be happy with us just grabbing an away goal and going from there.

I was jut coming on to post the same:  http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2016/2/14/10988436/serge-aurier-verratti-pastore-concerns-psg-chelsea?_ga=1.5918451.1983825573.1432878579

He said that Blanc sucked Zlatan's balls.

It also looks like Verratti and Pastore aren't going to start on Tuesday - not 100% match fit.

Hopefully this causes a real rift in the side and affects the teams performance.

Aurier is such an idiot, if this was done at any other club he certainly wouldn't be playing for some time.

Last season we were second-best to this lot by quite a distance, but there's few teams in Europe I dislike as much as them. Their fans are whining gits by and large and their players aren't much better.

The problem is that they're a better squad than us at the moment. They're a very well-balanced club, and their midfield options alone are an embaressment of riches and planning. The experience of Motta, the tenacious brilliance of Verratti, the engine of Matuidi (remind me of Essien sometimes), the youth of Rabiot and the flair of players like Di Maria and Pastore.

They're not perfect and I think they have some weak spots but the biggest things that could go our way are complacency from their lack of challenge in the league and maybe some personal conflicts in the camp. I actually do think that if we come out of the traps fast we could really surprise them, but over 180 minutes you'd expect class to tell.

If they give Cesc time in midfield then we've got a chance, but if they stick Matuidi and Verratti on him (if they're available) then I think it's a struggle.

Will it "cause a real rift" or might it be the symptom of a real rift? Hopefully the former because if there's already a real rift, and they've been able to play like this regardless, then we're screwed.

I don't understand why people are saying to go for a low score draw. Away goals could well be the difference.

Well at minimum it is going to cause some extra ill feeling with in the squad and will mean Aurier won't be at RB,

Van der Wiel isn't nearly as good and if they play Maquinos his feet aren't as quick so it might be good having a player like Hazard running at him.

Either way it will weaken the team slightly.

hopefully this doesn't fire them up or if it does they go to the extreme with potentially another Ibra sending off.

No Aurier is pretty big as van der Wiel or Marquinhos are nowhere at his level (defensively and especially offensively). A massive downgrade. He + di Maria are killing it on the right.

Taking stats with a some distance Whoscored has him as the third best player in Ligue 1 and 13 best player in the Champions League. He has been a pivotal player for PSG and is arguably the best RB in Europe at the moment (and IMO he is).

I feel if we are to go through we need to surprise psg here. Show the same intensity we showed in that first half against Newcastle. Be all over them.

We need a win, we need them coming to the bridge with nothing to hold on to.

However I think psg have gotten better while we have dropped several levels.

Expecting a win for them.

Even with Jose in charge the team always looked more motivated in CL games than the league to me. I dont think they'll have a problem getting up for this one.

Hopefully we dont leave ourselves too much work to do in the 2nd leg.

So no news on JT yet?

Assuming he is not fit and we know Matic is banned I would expect Guus to go with:

Tibo

Azpi

Cahill

Brana

Baba

Cesc

Mikel

Willian

Oscar (if not fit Hazard)

Pedro

Costa

If we go in to this game timid, like in many of our games, we will get slaughtered. Need to stand up to PSG. Show them respect but get in their faces, like Verratti does in every game.

The fact that there's no news on JT worries me. I can't help but jump to the conclusion that the doctors don't think he's ready at this time and haven't given him the green light to play. They may not have told him to definitely not play, but they're not confident at this time, and they're delaying the final decision in the hope that he'll recover faster than expected.

This is based on nothing more than personal gut feeling, which is meaningless, and the fact that when you're his age, injuries take longer to heal. It's a biological reality even for players that have aged well in terms of physical ability.

I don't think there usually is much news on injuries etc on a Sunday following a game.  I'm not saying he is ok but the lack of news so far doesn't mean anything.
