July 15, 201610 yr also Hublot is one of Chelsea FC sponsors so I think right after he became CFC manager they gave him their watches. Hublo also released Chelsea FC classic fusion watch that goes for around &10k
July 15, 201610 yr Is that necessary? Jose is big part of our history, no matter you like it or not. There is no need to act like this after... one press conference. Not even a single match, half season or title/cup. A fu**ing press conference? Ridiculous. it was a tongue in cheek joke of course I love & respect the man ffs now f**koff & stop quoting me you sad sack of sh*te!!!
July 16, 201610 yr Great first press conference by Antonio and very exciting to see him unveiled. I only just had some time to watch his full press conference so I've come away from watching that feeling very excited and optimistic. I hope this appointment is successful because I have very good vibes listening to him. He was nervous at the start and noted that he had slight language barrier, but he was confident, assertive and he constantly emphasised on hard work without coming across as arrogant or brash that impressed me. Here's a summary of his opening statement and what he was asked from the press and how he responded that I jotted down when I was watching the press conference. Opening Statement "Very happy to be here" "I'm excited for this moment and to start a new season with Chelsea" "A new chapter for my life, career and family and very happy to start working in a new country" "Very difficult league, the most difficult in the world as six or seven teams can win the title" "Chelsea is a great team and I'm proud to be manager of them" Questions Q1). From what you've seen on the training ground, do you have any ideas on what Chelsea has to do to become a title-winning team? It's his second day of training and it's been fantastic to work at Cobham. He saw players with the right attitude and behaviours and a great will to fight for the short and to compete to win the title and be in the best position. After these two days, he's very happy to see these attributes from the players as it is important. Q2). John Terry says he has a new contract with a different role, how do you see his role and will he still be your captain? John Terry signed a contract as a player, not a different role. He's our captain of the team, a great player with a great personality and displays great charisma. Conte likes to speak to him because he knows the club and is experienced and for him he's an important player. Terry will be captain regardless of whether he plays or not. Conte is adamant that he will be captain. Q3). You were announced as the new manager of Chelsea in April and John Terry signed a new contract a month later, how much influence or say did you have in John Terry staying at the club, did you want him to be here? Yes, I picked that Terry is an important player for everyone at Chelsea. He signed in May, but the decision was taken together with myself and the club and I was very pleased that Terry signed a new deal. I spoke him with him at different times and it was important that John was very happy to sign a new deal. Q4). You've also spoken about how tough and difficult the Premier League is, how much pressure are you under to deliver? "The pressure is not important for me. I was born with pressure" It's normal because when you are a player or manager of a great club like Chelsea, you must play to win or to fight to the end and to compete with other sides and reach your target. The league is very difficult because there are six or seven teams that can the title and that's why this situation excites me. Last season was a bad season - Everyone including the players and I know this. We must think of the present and future to build on something special and work hard. The team must be ready to fight and compete with the other teams. There's only one team that wins the title but we must fight for the title and the Champions League. "Chelsea belongs in the Champions League and must stay there" Q5). Some of the players are already praising your tactical approach on the training ground, can you give us an idea of what you have in mind for the tactics for this football club this season? We started to work on different aspects. Every manager has their own philosophy and idea of football. It is important to work on different aspects, with these being technical and physical aspects. Mentality is important to become stronger to help us overcome difficulties during the game or the overall situation of the club. Must have players that embrace my philosophies and that are ready to fight and play good football. Q6). More specifically, will you be using three at the back? Usually, when I arrive to a new team I search to find the right positions for the players and I did this in Italy. In the past, I've started with one tactic and changed it throughout. The right spirit is the most important aspect of the team to compete for the title. I can improve my players a lot. We can improve a lot with hard work. Q7). Given what happened here last season and the competition in the Premier League is this your toughest test as a manager in your career? Don't know if this is the most difficult challenge of my career. When I arrived at Juventus, they finished 7th two seasons in a row before I arrived and then we built something fantastic and won the title three seasons in a row. The experience with the national team was fantastic and very difficult because there's great pressure from the media and the whole country who follow you and see what you're doing. This is a great challenge and the right moment to arrive in England but I like the challenge, and I want to prove myself in this situation. I'm sure with the players and the club all together, we can achieve great things at the end of the season. Q8). Jose Mourinho famously came here the first time to Chelsea and announced himself as the "special one", how would you like to be seen at your arrival here with Chelsea? Not very good in finding a different name for myself. I hope during the season that the media has an opportunity to find a new name for me and hopefully it's a good name and not a bad name. Q9). What is the most important message that you've even getting across to your players on your arrival here that distinguishes you? The most important message is I'm a worker, and I like to work. I know that this road to win and to compete hard and to back to winning ways is to "work, work and work". I'm very happy because I found the right attitude and behaviours at Cobham and this makes me happy. Q10). The club paid a lot of money for Michy Batshuayi and he only had good season in France at the highest level. How do you expect him to adopt to the Premier League level? He's a young player who's very strong with good technique. Great talent and the club bought a player for the present and future. Q11). You talk of passion and we all enjoyed you on the touchline at the Euros, can we expect more of that in the Premier League? Yes. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing but I have a great passion for football, for my team, for my work, during the game but during the training session I love to stay with my players and train and play with them whether they win or lose (hopefully not often). It is important that he interacts with the fans and can see that he is hurting with them when they're struggling and happy when they're winning. When I'm not passionate, I'm not happy. Q12). You've spoken already about the physical aspect and how that is to your team and the double training sessions at Cobham, do you want to make Chelsea the fittest team in the Premier League? In the Premier League, the competition is very tough including the physical aspect. It's a very physical intensity compared to other leagues. If you want to win, you need to play good football, attractive football and must have good physical condition. I like to work on all aspects - Tactical, technical, physical and mentality and I think that's important. Q13). When you were the manager of Italy, you said that you didn't get the support that you thought you should have had toward the end and that contributed to your decision to leave and have you received assurances of how you will be treated and if so what is that? I decided to leave the national team after our qualification in Euro 2016 because I wanted to return to working with my players day-to-day and for this reason I decided to go back to club-level. I had this great opportunity to speak with Chelsea and I'm very happy we found a fantastic solution for me and the club to work together. Q14). We have dubbed this era of the Premier League as the time of the "super coach" with Klopp, Guardiola, Mourinho and yourself, how do you feel about being included in this tag? It's fantastic and it's important in this league as there's great talented players and good managers and this important for the league. I think that a good coach or manager must improve his players and must work to improve all the situations in the club and for me this situation is fantastic. It's not a challenge between managers, it's a challenge between great teams. Q15). Can I ask you about transfers and how you will play a part in Chelsea signing players this summer? We must adapt and sign players for our philosophy, and not always take champions. It's important not to talk about potential players who are not part of the team as it's disrespectful. I didn't write anything further regarding the questions asked in Italian.
July 16, 201610 yr I am starting to get hyped for Conte, especially after watching this video. Then again, I should wait until Nov. That is usually when the wheels fall off for this club
July 16, 201610 yr Post Match: “Today's game was very difficult, because we have had some very hard training sessions with strength and tactical aspects,” he said in a Press conference. “But I don't like to lose, and this is the same for my players. We can learn a lot from this. Our fans were in the stadium and I want to see my fans happy. We want to come back and compete for the title.” Today Chelsea also announced a deal to sign midfielder Kante from Leicester City for a reported £32m, but that’s not the end of their spending spree. “I want to say that Kante was a target, and for this reason I am very happy that the club have bought this player. He is a good player with great technique and stamina. If you want to win, you need this type of player. “Me and the club identified this player. I think that Kante can give a lot to Chelsea. He's very important to us. “We know what this team needs. Me and the club are on the same line. We know what to do to improve this team. “We prefer to wait and take the right player, rather than take a player with emotion.” There are reports Cuadrado wants to make his Juventus loan spell permanent this summer. “Cuadrado is a Chelsea player and I am waiting for him. I'm very happy to have him, he's a player I wanted at Juventus,” noted Conte.

However, he did drop some hints that previous style would be scrapped. “I really appreciated the effort of all the players. We have to work on a tactical level and find the right solutions for this team. “We certainly need to work and shake out some skeletons from last season, that is without doubt. In some situations, especially at the start, the team was very deep and too defensive. That’s not what Chelsea are about. “We need to change the mentality in that sense, but I have at my disposal a group of lads who are ready to work.”

July 17, 201610 yr Conte hinted that we are going to play 2 CMs next seasontbh i'm a little disappointed because that means we will ditch Cesc. he's a liability in a two man midfielder i'm quite disappointed not because i have soft spot for Cesc, but because he is one of our best player in the squad. Conte should adapt the strategy, not the other way around. still think we should play 433
July 17, 201610 yr What formation did Conte use with Pirlo? I didn't ever watch those Juve teams he had, and haven't seen a whole lot of Pirlo, but I know that some posters have said he played similar to Cesc. Surely Conte would find a way to use him in a similar way?
July 17, 201610 yr After watching yesterday's game I don't think we can read to much into the result it was Chelsea's first pre season game against a team who are now ready for the season. Chelsea TV had the team playing the same formation 4231 as last season but as soon as the game started it looked more like a deep 442 and finished in a 424. It was good to see some of the young players getting a run out in the second half. Personally I would sell Mikel if he plays 424 with a high press as he just can't press the game and I think chalobah offers more than him. I would 100% include aina in the squad next season his passing was poor yesterday but the guy is really quick and with work could be a real super star at either RB or LB.
July 17, 201610 yr Anyone who watched the game did you see Conte's touch already there? I watched the first half and most of the second. While many thought we were lining up in a 4231 formation before kickoff it was clear once the game started that we were playing in a flat 4-4-2. Loftus Cheek as a supporting striker up top with Costa. It was also very clear that the players weren't comfortable with their new system yet, and on many occassions i noticed Willian and Costa talking to Conte trying to understand what they are supposed to do when we have the ball. This is ovbiously no surprise as they only have had a few training sessions with the new manager. Will only get better. Not a great game from us, but it was good to see we were looking to attack when we did have it. Willian had one great through ball to Costa who could have scored at one point and there were a few other glimpses too but overall quite poor. Midfield combo of Mikel and Matic didn't work and Ivanovic were very poor again unfortunatly. RLC hardly touched the ball and i actually felt quite sorry for him after a while. Chalobah was good when he came on. Begovic poor again too.
July 17, 201610 yr Anyone who watched the game did you see Conte's touch already there? Not really he hasn't had long enough to work with the players. TBH a few of the players didn't know to press the ball or stay in position. William a few times in the first half looked at him to get instructions.
July 17, 201610 yr Hi, Chelsea fans! I'm a supporter of Juventus, but also a great fan of Antonio Conte, so I decided to root for your team this year (alongside Juventus, of course)... You are really lucky to be have such a trainer! If the players will follow him, he will lead you to victory! The first year at Juventus he inherited a team coming from two seventh places in the league, and won the championship with no losses and playing an amazing football! Even the Milan of Ibrahimovic had to surrender! I hope it's gonna be the same for you.
July 18, 201610 yr Welcome. Always had a soft spot for Juve and italian football in general. Pirlo is one of my all time favorite players. So what about Cuadrado?
July 18, 201610 yr hey may i ask why is some juve fans really hate conte? i've read something about 10 dollar restaurant or something lol
July 18, 201610 yr hey may i ask why is some juve fans really hate conte? i've read something about 10 dollar restaurant or something lol Some Juve fans hate Conte because he left the club high and dry by resigning on the first day of pre-season training after having committed to being the manager for another year. Most Juve fans don't hate him and are hugely appreciative of what he did at the club both as a player and as a manager. The 10 Euro restaurant was a stupid analogy that Conte made during a press conference to excuse his lack of success in the CL, He basically said "you can't eat at a 100 Euro restaurant if you only have 10 Euro in your pocket", the implication being that Juve can't compete in the CL without spending big on players. He was immediately disproven when Allegri took the same group of players to a CL final in his first season.
July 18, 201610 yr Seems the Sun got hold of Conte's tactics vs Rapid. http://www.101greatgoals.com/news/sun-get-hold-antonio-contes-chelsea-tactics-v-rapid-vienna-pictures/
July 18, 20169 yr I am sure most of you have read this, but this tickled me Pirlo also remarked approvingly of Conte's man-management and motivational skills. In his autobiography he recalled how Conte's introductory speech to the Juventus squad made a significant impact: "He needed only one speech, with many simple words, to conquer both me and Juventus. He had fire running through his veins and he moved like a viper. 'This squad, dear boys, is coming off two consecutive seventh-place finishes. It's crazy. It's shocking. I am not here for this, so it's time to stop being so crap.'... When Conte speaks, his words assault you. They crash through the doors of your mind. I've lost count of the number of times I've said: 'Hell, Conte said something really spot-on again today.'"[66] In addition to his comparisons to José Mourinho, some commentators have also remarked on his managerial similarities to Alex Ferguson,[67] using an anecdote from his final season as Juventus manager to illustrate his formidable temper. Prior to the team talk ahead of the final game of the 2013–14 season, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon arrived with the club's chief executive who Buffon claimed wanted to speak to the players over how much they were due in win bonuses having won the title. "The suggestion sent Conte into a fury. He chased every player out of the room as he tore into Buffon. 'I don’t want to hear another word,' Conte is said to have screamed. 'From you, of all people, I would never have expected such a thing. Bonuses … You’re a disappointment, a defeat from the moment you open your mouth. Just like all the rest of these half-wits.'"[67] Juventus won the game 3–0 and set a new record for the most points and wins in a single Serie A season.
July 19, 20169 yr Some Juve fans hate Conte because he left the club high and dry by resigning on the first day of pre-season training after having committed to being the manager for another year.
