Let's look at it this way, if Willian had started the game today instead of Bakayoko or Fabregas in a 3-4-3 formation, yes we will play that attacking game we want and will have chances to score, but given the fact that we don't have a world class striker, if we don't take our chances we will be punished at the other end because Bakayoko or Fabregas always struggle in a 3-4-3 formation. It often leaves Kante and the defenders with so much work to do. But that would have been a different case if we were having an energetic midfielder like Naingollan, Vidal, Koke, Dembele or Veratti pairing Kante in the midfield, that will give the team balance and so much freedom to attack.

How do you know Conte didnt want Baka? His been a first team regular this season so surely his a player he wanted.

With right players Conte would absolutely play more attacking football. Bakayoko was a complete flop and that was a big factor how this season played out. He can be good some day but he was a failure. 

You can't really read too much into Conte's comments. I don't think he said much and I think the club would be stupid to sack him. Give him a warchest he likes and get Tibo and Eden to sign. 

 

I actually really like Conte and probably up until Newcastle I actually wanted him to stay. I thought given some support in a window you will see a different team next year.

What I cannot handle is the style of football. I was happy that we won yesterday but jesus I did not enjoy the game at all. Back foot defending, far too passive and not even offering a threat on the counter. They should/could have equalised in the second half and I cannot bare another season of that. I can understand playing that way against Barca etc but against a Jose Mourinho united? No. 30% of the ball with no interest in keeping possession or building attacks ourselves. It was the same against Liverpool.

I want to see Chelsea playing attacking football, on the front foot. Also Conte is very slow to see a shift in the game to make a substitution. How Fabregas stayed on that pitch is beyond me. And when counter attacks were available int he second half he persisted with Giroud who cannot run over Morata/Willian.

Whilst your assessment of the players is pretty accurate i do think that Bakayoko is getting used to england and is definitely improving. He may be a slow burner and could take off next year. Conte's treatment fo Luiz was poor management which definitely weakened us. I`m not a fanboy of Conte. But the same s*** happen over and over again. I see this coming, everyone who watch this club and not have purple glass on his eye, can see this happen in the begining of the season.

The board knows very well how Conte will react if you mess in his work and what happen.

It was a battle for power and Marina would not allow, someone to took more power in the club and did everything in his power to fu*** Conte and in that mean us.

I`m not crying about our budget i`m just tired with all of this b.c. Change manager every season or two. And this behaviour against the manager.

I`m speaking with facts. Conte come and said all the transfer was made from the board. He said he was only a coach. He said he didn`t want to sell Matic and was a board choice.

He wanted third striker in the summer, didn`t get. He said he need better quality, not get it.

He probably have some list of players that he wanted, and 90% of this list did not come here.

Whether if they was going to be better or worst. Player that come here, should be manager choice.

I agree, the manager should have work on budget and some restriction. For example to not give more then 60m. for 1 player, or if the player price is above 30+m. his age to be below 25 or so.

But let him choice the player he wanted, and if he fail, then he fail. Sack him, do whatever you want with him.

But now it`s a bitter taste.

Gianluca Vialli come infront of the media and said Conte can`t stand they buy and sell player without even consulting with him .... That`s tell you the whole story.

And now some fans here are crying that we don`t need him, cause he doesn`t want to be here.

So who will be that man, that will want to be here on this conditions ?? Who will be that guy that will give all he can give, and then he will let some s*I**** pu**** to blame him for everything, when he has no word on transfers?

I`m so happy Conte point it out and said the thing, how it is.

Nothing big will happen. I guess the biggest thing is related to Eden and Tibo. Conte leaving would be normal. What happened last time we were 10th. Nothing major...

Got hand it to Conte, delivered the cup when nobody gave him a chance. We could still argue he didn't make the subs earlier to close off the game, but he's the way he is, and he proved he was right. It's not easy to beat Jose's team in cup final, especially with an weaker team in poor form, that's why the board should think carefully about what to do next. I'm tempted for him to stay another season, yes, it is knee jerk reaction.  It's either stuck with the devil we knew or take a leap of faith. Yes, it will be 343 again, but let's say we get him an attacker and right wing back he wants, he may just focused on the coaching and get us back to where we want to be . Let's face it, we won't win the title next year, it's about getting back to CL, win the Europa league or a cup. Reading between the line, looks like he's contend with another year, probably partly due to the PSG job has been taken I certainly don't fancy Poch now, man has no idea how to get into a cup final, let alone winning it. Even with better players, we'd just be an 'almost' team.

 

 

Hope we get some news as to whats going to happen as soon as possible.

This season was full of speculation since the first game against Burnley until the last yesterday and things simply can't continue like that.
I think we need some kind of official statement from the club one way or another. Either we move forward without Antonio Conte or we get a statement that confirms he's here next season as well.

The club doesn't really react to speculation. They rarely give statements. I guess it is unnecessary as they'd have to do it very often.

But in this special case i think it would be needed.

We certainly can't go into next season like we did this season.
Thibaut Courtois said after the game yesterday that all the speculation was bad for the whole group through the entire season.

So you really believe Conte has no say on any transfer? So Conte has zero word but you are prepared to still believe Conte wanted certain players when the situation suits, that doesn't make sense.

Stop being such an idiot and blaming everything on the board and if you really think Conte had zero say on any transfer then you really must be Conte's pr man, the bloke has spoken so much rubbish this year, a bit like you really that I don't know what to take serious. I wouldn't take anything anyone says as gospel though.

Conte doesn't tolerate diva behaviours, thats why Costa left and Willian is also leaving, probably why David Luiz was left out as well regardless of his injury.

The approach, not the result is what I'm concerned about going forward. It was fantastic to watch the win yesterday and even in this sh*t season we've somehow won a trophy. I've backed Conte through everything this season but I'm disappointed with how he handled the match, not the result. United were the better team overall and their inept attacking cost them. It wasn't some ornate defensive plan that nullified them. 

I don't see any improvement on the pitch from last season or throughout this season from the team. I thought we'd see some yesterday but alas. This is my biggest worry with Conte and I'm bitterly disappointed he did nothing to allay my concern. So yea, last straw for me. He's not the man to go forward with

 may be cause we had better players last season, Fabregas is slow Baka is clueless if he has to do something with ball 

we did give up a lot of goals by playing 3-4-3 this season, so he did the best he could playing defensive

Sadly, i dont think Conte will change the way we play, no matter which players we sign during the summer.  He's another Jose [probably even worse]  just goes from one match to another sending out his team to try and squeeze out some kind of positive result. Against any good team we park the bus, home or away. Rely on them missing chances or not playing well. The final straw form me was him basically saying to his players that they are not good enough to compete with Man City, so they went out, played with fear and did nothing more than try to keep the score down. Embarrassing and simply not acceptable! We won the flipping FA Cup, yet i got precious little joy watching that dire excuse for a football match. We look a million miles away from City and Liverpool and do not deserve to be successful playing the way we are. We desperately need a manager that instills real confidence in his players and sends them out to play with respect for all opposition, but to play without fear, home and away.

If this is true, then that is really bloody unprofessional of willian. Even if he knows Conte is going, he should show more respect to his manager.  It says a lot about the mentality of players these days..
