May 11, 201610 yr You can really hear that famous Anfield crowd roaring them on can't you.. Speak up! I can't hear you over that fabulous atmosphere
May 11, 201610 yr Just saw the goal, superb. Call me pessimistic but just feel we still won't win, hope I'm wrong mind. must be delightful supporting the club with all that optimism bobby ;)
May 11, 201610 yr Yeah in terms of the top players Africa does produce, there seem to be more attackers relative to the number of defenders. It's certainly not unthinkable though, there are many, many individual cases (although a lot of them seem to get poached by the European international sides). Off the top of my head I would argue that it's down to the standard of coaching. You can develop pretty amazing 'natural' attacking skills playing street football, but it's far harder to do that as a defender, I think it requires a lot more coaching, tactical understanding and team-building. I would say that Africa has more notably failed to produce many top-level goalkeepers. Hazard's been cleaned out again! Well there you go, the defensive side of the game is less developed in Africa historically. Maybe we'll see that change but I still stand by what I said.
May 11, 201610 yr I would say that Africa has more notably failed to produce many top-level goalkeepers. Desailly was trained in France, just saying.
May 11, 201610 yr Michael Oliver is always sh*t when he's ref for our games, the ball clearly hit Fabregas in the chest.
May 11, 201610 yr Off topic but Sunderland are clobbering Everton (shock) 3-0. Newcastle and Norwich down this evening it seems and Martinez out soon? Edited May 11, 201610 yr by Spudulike
May 11, 201610 yr anyway, just started watching the game. Mikel at CB? why am i not surprised. what's his excuse this time? "to give Liverpool a good sparring partner toward Europa final"? bet against Leicester he will start the "strongest lineup" "to respect the champion"

May 11, 201610 yr Done alright traore. Good confidence on the ball. Playing up front alone is hard. Lay off him. Willian/pedro might as well not have turned up tonight
May 11, 201610 yr Off topic but Sunderland are clobbering Everton (shock) 3-0. Newcastle and Norwich down this evening it seems and Martinez out soon? Moyes would probably have had to have sold Stones last summer. Martinez has been given a lot more freedom to build his squad but he's taken them backwards. I reckon he's gone come the end of the season.
May 11, 201610 yr Speak up! I can't hear you over that fabulous atmosphere 'Theatre of Dreams' cos the home fans are asleep.
May 11, 201610 yr That doesn't mean an African defender is inherently a bad one though! No but the odds are clearly stacked against them.
