I'm not that taken by Kane either.  Didn't he score a screamer against us last season?  Anyway, you can say " if he is actually in a better team than Everton" but, if ifs and buts were bolts and nuts, the wheels wouldn't have come off so easily last year.  He played for a big team.  Us.  He didn't really break any records, did he?  Did he actually ever score for us?

yes, i hearhow that sounds. T hree out of 20-something.  Not great, is it?  But, like I said before, he isn't pants, just not good enough for a top European team.  Realistically, can you  honestly say that he would walk into the team at Bayern, Real, Barcelona, PSG or Juve?  That is who we need to be competing with. (Oh, and Leicester)

He scored against us last season but was just a well placed goal. You are talking about couple seasons ago. Lukaku also scored couple against us last season. Lukaku did not score for us but how many of those were starts? Most of the bench appearances and he was at the age of 18/19. He has come a long way since then. And what strikers can we get who would walk into those teams? None really. Pointless statement. And Kane is the complete striker. Absolutely brilliant and one of the best strikers in Europe for me. Lukaku will soon be at a bigger team, maybe and hopefully us and time will tell whether he proves you wrong or not.

Not a big fan of Lukaku but I did see an interesting stat that all of the top strikers (Kane, Costa, Augero, Lukaku etc) all scored the majority of goals against mid-low teams in the prem. very few goals against top 6 from all of them.

Thought that was interesting.

Well that's becauwse there are more teams in that "mid-low" group than in the top group, and of thse fewer teams in that top group, those teams have better defences!

I like Lukkaku and would be happy with bringing him back. Proven in the Premier League and I there are more teams not in the top 6 then there are in it so if he only scores on them we would probably have a pretty good chance of picking up trophies.

well if it's true we're interested and have bid for belotti, i'm not sure where lukaku would fit in. unless we plan to play belotti in a different position with lukaku.

Question is, will he complement Hazard?

Not just Hazard, but I think he will complement the team much better. How many crosses do moses and alonso put in that no one gambles on or there is no aerial threat (costa is pathetic in the air). Lukaku in the team would make us far more dangerous than we are.

So you dont rate Kane, lukaku, dont think much of Costa. Mate, can I ask you Who exactly do u think is capable of leading our line? Messi, suarez, CR, Benzema, Lewa? I mean those 3 names (Kane, Lukaku, Costa) would be in the top 10-15 strikers in the world list currently.

As poor as Costa is in the air, Lukaku isn't any better than him there, stop it. For a guy of his size and stature, he's pretty poor in the air. Can knock in the odd header here and there but so can Costa. They're miles away from someone like Drogba in the air. Not sure why you'd use that to make a case for Lukaku.

You have not watched him this season then. Lukaku has become more prolific in the air. His header last week against Leicester was fantastic. I think that is around 6 headed goals for the season. Costa has 1 I think which was against Palace. Was unlucky not to score against Arsenal but on balance of things Lukaku would provide us with a much more aerial threat than Costa.

Wow. You should seriously try and watch a game or 2. Not just the number of goals but the knockdowns that he wins is SUBSTANTIALLY better than costa.

Surely got his sights set on scoring 30 now.

Would probably be the first player outside of a top 4 club to do so since Kevin Phillips did it with Sunderland.

Suarez did 30 a few seasons ago with the dippers.

The season they finished 2nd?

I said for a player outside of a top four club.

Right. I missed that part. I think you're right. I may not like the lad and I may want other targets rather than him but I'd love to see him gun for 30. Would show his hunger and determination.

Everytime he scores, I am sure people on here must be tearing their hair out.

Why? No one denies he is a good goalscorer, the issue is that he lacks in the rest of his game.

Costa has been here 3 seasons, when he is on form, he is better than lukaku's best, although we have only seen costa's best for 4 months in his 1st season, 6 weeks last season, and 4 months again this season.

The only area costa is consistently better than Lukaku is his work rate.

Maybe lukaku isn't good enough for us, but I don't think Costa compares too favourably in all honesty.

If lukaku was a chelsea player, and Costa was at everton, I don't think we would be wanting to swap.
