Romelu Lukaku

Featured Replies

Firstly, I would be delighted to have Lukaku back.

Do people forget the amount of chances that Costa also missed the last few seasons, Saw an info graph on Twitter and Lukaku had a much higher key chance conversion rate.

Saying Lukaku blew the golden boot when Everton turned off and Harry Kane (the best striker in the league by far) started smashing 3 or 4 a game. LOL

Lukaku is better than Morata right now. They play different roles in the same position. It's not my money and the club can pay as much as they like for all I care. Is Lukaku better than Auybamayang? I don't think so. But I think he is better than Costa.

If you not see how much Lukaku improved from the moment he came to England, then you have a big problem.

He improve all of his game and all of his attributes and do it year after year. Why would he stop now?
I`m pretty sure he will make the final step, when he came to us. Conte will make him better, just like it happen with a lot of our players. Moses for example, also Alonso who become better with every past game.

And Belotti and Icardi won`t be sold for less then 80mln. at best.

Milan wanted Belotti and was offered 50mln. + 2 players, and their bid was rejected.

Aubameyang is a light striker, he won`t fit our style for sure. We need typical striker like Lukaku/Costa/Drogba. That`s what work perfect for us.

He has improved, I think everyone can see that but it's just his general attitude when things don't go his way that bothers me.

Actually, I think Morata has more in common with Drogba and Costa than Lukaku. Either way, we still need another striker because We can't run Lukaku to the ground because right now even if we do sign him, we will have only 1 striker for multiple competitions and that is not a sound transfer strategy

Agree we need 1 more striker, when we get Lukaku.

About Morata i like him, but i`m not sure he can score constantly and keep the momentum for whole season.

Lukaku can do it.

And for the the thing you say. There is no reason Lukaku to not improve there as well, mental too.

He is just 24 years old for god sake. Costa and Drogba at that age was no where to be seen.

You do realise that we own Batshuayi, don't you?

I would like it if we actually gave this kid another season, that would make a nice change.

There are pros and cons with Lukaku, much like Costa the ball does tend to bounce off him and his link up play isn't great, with the formation we play that isn't ideal. However, he's quick, powerful and clinical and I've no doubt that he would score a hatful of goals for us, we have to find a way to play to his strengths. Anyway, it won't do any good bashing him, he's probably our player and we'll have to get behind him, him and Bakayoko are probably done deals.

I don't really think we have much an of option to be honest.

No one else is a realistic option, significantly better than Lukaku and can match his experience. Not happy with the prices being mentioned but we can make half of it back from Costa's sale so it's not bad at all if you look at it that way.

If he does join and starts banging them in, he will all the sudden become a fan favorite. He didn't even join yet for f**k sake, if he does give the man a chance to prove his worth. Saying all this he never should have been sold, he done has done well in all of his loans and deserved a chance in the first team.

Selling him wasn't something i was too bothered about, it was not putting a buy back clause in that bothered me. Even when he left i always thought there was a chance he would end up back with us.

It's not that we don't but we keep hearing rumours of him transferring away. If we're to assume Lukaku is coming then surely we can assume from the rumours nowadays that Batshuayi and Costa are leaving, no?

I don't think Bats on his own can lead the line, though assuming Lukaku came here, playing a 3-5-2 with Lukaku and Bats upfront with Cesc in midfield under a Conte pre-season might be very interesting.

So Everton have just spunked the entirety of their sack over a new keeper for £30mil. Now, even with the new TV deal and sponsorship etc etc, that makes me think they're about to get a huge amount of money incoming from somewhere.

Disappointing.

There might be money for Barkley but just because they've grossly overpaid for a goalkeeper shouldn't imply that where going to drop our trousers for Lukaku...£70m is tops for him...btw the Pickford money amounts to a million pounds per EPL game...good luck Eversh*te...

Why would both leave? That's a waste of money.

Not a lot of money considering what Everton made this year

Idk, but both were seemingly linked away, Batshuayi was linked even before the season ended and continues to be linked away.

Costa is well documented to say the least.

Batshuayi is the same age as Lukaku and in a WC year it's tough to say that he'll accept being a benchwarmer to a competition for 1st team places in the Prem and the WC

It is the Third(?) most expensive transfer of a Gk ever.  To Everton. Only Buffon and Ederson have cost more.  That is not from a club spending their standard annual earnings, not when they could have bought Joe Hart for £10-15 mil and certainly not when you have pressing concerns in your squad like Barkley's clearly wanting out and in his last year of contract, Phil Jagielka as your first choice centre back alonside Seamus Coleman who is out forever with that horrible injury together they comprise two of only 5 first team Defenders

To quote Steve Nicol: "This is definitely going to happen but my goodness, when you've got rid of a player and then you spend a crazy amount of money getting him back."

He does know that another team in the Premier League spent £89 million on an ex-academy player just last season, doesn't he?

They're also rumoured to sign Klassen, Sigurdsson, Keane and some guy from Malaga. Banking on that Lukaku money and the deep Chinese pockets

Everton are strengthening and we should be doing the same :l

Exactly. Ederson cost more. And he is terrible. Everton made close to 140 million pounds this year JUST from playing in the premiership. 30 mill isnt much, even for a goalkeeper

They made 132 we made 153 isn't that f**king stupid, win the league draw much bigger tv numbers and make only 21 mil more than a team that didn't  do w**k, that's why commercial deals and match day earnings are so important as well as CL progression. Look at our wage bill, we field players like hazard for them broadcast, they field that shower of piss that they don't have to pay a fraction of the wages for and make practically the same as us, I don't think the money is distributed well, f**king Sunderland got near enough 100 million, their whole team isn't worth that. The premier league is far better financially for lower teams, imagine the newly promoted teams, a team like Huddersfield getting 100 mil, its life changing.

Id prefer it to be distributed like it is currently, than how they used to do it Spain. It makes for a very competitive league.

well we would be selling costa, and we're making about 20+ million from smaller sales too, but people don't factor that in and only look at we buy lukaku for 75-80+ million. we are making profits all the time from small and big sales.
