Romelu Lukaku

Featured Replies

Not sure if you guys remember but Raiola used to manage Hamsik, he tried to force a move away from Napoli and in the end, Hamsik himself had enough of it and sacked him.

Where's hamsik?

I don't buy that we genuinely wanted Lukaku and were just lounging around not bothering to bid until the last minute. This is a tactic you'd use if the selling club were desperate, Everton aren't.

I believe this matching of the bid and salary is just to portray to fans that Lukaku chose United. We would clearly have known he was basically a United player and can't see us actually been willing to pay him 275k a week.

When he's on form, he's easily one of the world's best strikers. Even money can't buy us a Lewandowski or whoever else are on similar level as Costa.
Instead of selling Costa and buying a new striker which will significantly weaken the team, we should keep him and sign a very good back up like Morata or anyone Conte would be happy with, that way we can drop Costa when he's off form. Last season we were stuck with an off form Costa because Conte refused to play Batshuayi for some reason.

You know it's peak window when you want a striker who continuously sh*ts on your club to stay.

The club makes a first bid only after man utd put theirs into the hat? And all this while, it's been reported that Conte has been in conversation with Lukaku. Either the club is throwing in a bid just to show they are trying to do a job and save face or they are truly incompetent in sitting on it all these weeks.

If he goes United, this will hurt 10 times more than it was seeing KDB flourish post-Chelsea. I won't get over this for a while, especially as he is still only 24 ffs and can be scoring bagful of goals for a near decade. And especially more so that if the board were not so nitty picky with their dealings, he would easily be a Chelsea player by now. Furious about this. And to all teams United and Mourinho!

Pretty sure he is going to United mate, best get used to it everything is pointing to that direction right now.

According to some, that's not a concern as Michy and Llorente can lead the line just as well.      Which is another way of saying temper your expectations for next season.

If someone has the opinion that Michy and llorente can lead the line "as well" then why would they temper their expectations, because with lukaku, we would be a massive force. Those are 2 contradictory statements. And only 1 can be correct. The latter would be the truth in my case, I am tempering my expectations because I don't think michy/llorente/hernandez can lead the line as well.

simply saying that given th circumstances and the condition of The board, I am prepared to face it.

not worth it

it is not Suarez & Iniesta

My bad - left out stating it's my opinion that fans should temper their expectations.

The primary concern is would Conte stay or walk? The board wont get big deals done as they wish to be champions in the net transfer savings league and this assuredly means Conte won't sign an extension to his contract.  Whether he walks now, next summer or gets sacked due to this team not performing remains to be seen. One things for sure - a Michy and Llorente strike force will have us struggling to make top 4 and crash out of the CL at the group stage.

Conte has just brought in a coach he wanted to employ when Steve Holland left.

Seems unlikely he'd walk now.

Also, I was under the impression that Lukaku was the clubs choice and Morata is Conte's choice. Surely Conte must be happy if this is true?

Bringing in a coach wouldn't compensate if conte doesn't get the players he wants.

That would be true if the club is negotiating for Morata earlier.  Only after this Lukaku saga threatens to blow up in the club's face then the Morata stories surfaced thick and fast.

There were reports that Conte was in chats with Lukaku regarding his plans for the new season. Also, if the club was really focused on pursuing Morata, why then did it submit a formal bid for Lukaku which matches Man Utd's bid?

I was really implying that the club was getting their choice of striker in Lukaku when Conte wanted Morata.

With the Lukaku transfer a mess surely that means Conte will go to the club and say that they should pursue a deal for Morata. I'm sure he'd cost around the same but doubt he'd have a 12mil agent fee and 275k pw demands.

With regards to the coach being appointed, it was reported the club wanted a English/British replacement whereas Conte wanted an Italian that he'd worked with previously. A small victory for Conte there I think

I'm happy to walk away from the whole dirty car crash that's the Lukaku deal...£12m for an slimy agent, £275k a week for the player, £75m plus £15m in add-ons to a shyster club...I'll happily thank the board for their belated efforts and ask them to turn their attention elsewhere...I'm hearing that contact with Morata's people has happened in the last few hours...perhaps there's dignity in that pursuit...

It's official. Manchester United just confirmed it.

Feck me what a silly fecking club we are. Don't send a single bid all summer for him and then when we realiezed we've been hijacked and its too late we try to save face by "matching" Uniteds bid when he's basically already signed for them. That confirms Antonio is fuming as well and we made one last desperate attempt to land his man.

Disgusting.

There has been no bid from Chelsea at any stage for Lukaku.

See my posts which have been ridiculed on 'Random Rumours' Lukaku agreed to join Man Utd before the end of last season.

His holiday to LA was planned to coincide with Man Utd's pre season tour.

As I said Chelsea FC are refusing to break their transfer record because they are working toward the new ground and developing the young talent at their disposal .

Use your common sense, I have information close to players, Tammy Abraham is considered Chelsea's main striker hope. Chelsea did not fight for Dominic Solanke in the same way, I know the gentlemen involved who brokered the deal.

What would it say in two years time to Abraham if Lukaku was leading the line ?

Conte wants Belotti, but Chelsea are not prepared to pay the buy out clause, Costa negotiations are holding any transaction for Llorente up, there is another forward in the conundrum however Chelsea are 8m apart. I am involved in those discussions.

It will be a long summer for all us Chelsea fans, Bakayoko and Rudiger are likely but Chelsea's 3 tier approach could let Man Utd in the back door, particularly in Bakayoko's case, as Chelsea are dithering over money and the medical.

i repeat, Chelsea will not exceed the 50m spent on Torres in this transfer window, do not waste your time on press releases concerning players like Morata.

United have just paid the equivalent of £110m for lukaku. I'm okay with that as we will get belotti or Morata for less. Our bid of £75m now makes sense, it's what we said we would bid and it shows other clubs what we value a top striker to be and we are prepared to not go higher.

Conte - according to the guardian - is actually angry with lukaku and raiola. Felt he was misled by them - seems like that was the case.

We were obviously clear with Everton, we couldn't put a bid in for lukaku whilst we were trying to offload costa - something that would be much more difficult if we had bought lukaku That is standard transfer market stuff - that is why they were spending like crazy because they knew we were going to buy him for £75m.

Shame mourinho insisted on no sell on clauses when we offloaded lukaku though.

Sorry you are reading press releases which are not the truth.

Chelsea FC have never shown interest of placed a bid for Lukaku.

That level of price for a 3rd Tier Club is way too high.

You still here?

Aren't you getting the message yet? Nobody gives two f**king sh*ts what you post because it's all bollocks. Like a 'football agent' would have the time or inclination to be perusing football forums.

Take your sad/bitter fantasy and celebrate Lukaku signing for Man Utd, by downing a pint of bleach.
