Fact is, in the early part of his career, he won the title almost every season, wherever he was. 7 titles in 10 years. In the last 6 years he's won the title once. He hasn't won the CL for 8 years, 3 of those years with Real Madrid, who have won it 3 times since he left (and will hopefully make that 4 times on Saturday).

 

However, he won two trophies last season, this season he came second behind City, and he beat Spurs at Wembley in the FA Cup semis, so he's still far from a busted flush.

All the signs now point to another 3rd year meltdown. Poor pre season, rift with the board and now openly criticising some big players. I would be very surprised if he actually finishes a full 3rd term there. 

I noticed he's done his old deflection tactic of telling other managers they are the one under pressure with Klopp. Saying he must win a trophy with all the money they've spent. He's not necessarily wrong but a spot in the CL final will buy some extra goodwill Jose wishes he had right now

Even pre season is going terribly for United, it really does feel like Mourinho's last season with us all over again. He's even saying things like "i don't have a team"......does he not realise how damaging comments like this is to team morale? he's basically said the squad players and youth players are sh*t. He used to be praised for his man management and being able to get the best out of players, but he's the complete opposite of that now.

If United start the season poorly and are out of the title race in the first few months, then he is gone. Mourinho is getting left behind in football and it's all his own fault.

Just have a look at the Redcafe forum, they are all fed up with his negativity.

He keeps insulting all the young players, saying he expects the Academy players to lose every game and Sanchez is too good to play with them.

Crazy person, this isn't 4d Chess, he's going senile. 

I read something recently about a comparison between JM and Conte when things were not going well at SB.

They said Conte had a monstrous face and just wouldn't respond to any of the support staff and said it was even worse than when times were rough for Mourinho.

He gives them no confidence at all. Imagine if he was coaching a mid table / bottom table team, he would get them relegated for sure. He's not a coach that will lift you when things are going wrong, not anymore he isn't. Even back when we could have won the title in 2013/14, he still played us down and said we weren't good enough. If he showed (or is it shown? somebody will correct me i'm sure ) the same confidence in our team that he had the following season, we may have won it.

I had a peek and it looks like a fair amount of United fans are blaming his 'negative attitude' on the media. Trying to advance an agenda, cherry picking quotes and all that. 

No lads, he's just a giant douche if he doesn't get everything his way. I'm starting to wonder if he's capable of succeeding long term anywhere even if he had everything he wanted. 

I can understand why the board are reluctant to spend any money. He’s spent close to 400m and his football is still as tedious as ever. They might have finished second last season but it was still a very poor season by their standards. 

If you treat someone like a Messiah, they can end up looking like a cult/sect leader. 

Yes it's great to see Utd failing, but a little bit of me is very sad for Jose, i hope he gets sacked quickly and leaves the country, probably off to the MSL, you heard it here first.

Apparently the Chelsea meltdown was planned so he could take over his dream job in Manchester. Turns out he just genuinely can't last longer than 3 seasons. I mean, at least we got a league title out of it before he turned sh*t.

Well, he's still there and him winning the title this season isn't beyond the realms of possibility, despite how things may appear at the minute. Football is unpredictable.

I'd be intrigued if he lasted the season.

It's a carbon copy of his final season with us a few years back. Pre season criticised, saying he isn't getting the players he wants, making out the squad isn't good enough.

Man United aren't usually quick to sack managers so maybe he will last the season

To be honest even if Klopp doesn’t win any trophies, I think he’s done very well there. His football is fantastic to watch, he’s improved so many players and of course they’ve 2 European finals and has brought them consistent champions league football, which they never had before. His job is pretty safe there regardless of Mourinho’s taunting. 

He's on the hot seat if they don't win anything this year IMO but yea he's pretty safe right now. 

Jose on the other hand is getting sacked if they don't win anything and even then he may still be out the door
