I have a feeling Liverpool are going to be our greatest threat. If they get a bit of momentum they could be dangerous and the way fixtures have gone works to their advantage as the season goes on. Arsenal, Spurs and ourselves all have to go to Anfield and they have those away wins against us and Arsenal in the bag. They still look vulnerable away from home and while Mane has been good for them so far, you'd have to hope they miss him in January while he's off to the African Cup of Nations.

Perfect result would be a draw between Liverpool and City - failing that a City win might take the wind out of Liverpool's  sails.

You just know Stoke are gonna play better than that against us

Well glen johnson did one of his old club's a huge favour today with a part in at least two of the goals, maybe he will help us out too?

Arsenal have got the stronger squad," Pulis said in the wake of his side's defeat at Emirates Stadium.

"If you look at the players who are not playing and not in the team and then you look at Chelsea I think Arsenal have definitely got the stronger squad.

"So they've probably got the staying power to see them through. But it will be interesting to see what Chelsea do. I think Chelsea will spend [in January].

Come on Tony...

Klopp's Liverpool reminds me of Rodgers' Liverpool - offensively brilliant but vulnerable defensively.

There is a chance of them winning the title, but I'm not convinced that they will unless their defence tightens up. Losing Mane will also be a blow, as he has been excellent.

City probably have the best squad on paper and ATM are at least as likely to win the title as Liverpool, but they've not been particularly convincing. Defensively they always give their opponents a chance and Pep seems too inflexible, doggedly trying to impose a style on City which they are just not accustomed to. They also have CL football to contend with.

IMO Arsenal are the same old Arsenal, while Tottenham and Man U have basically no chance of winning the title. Tottenham are Tottenham, whereas Man U have IMO conceded too much ground and rely a great deal on two 35-year olds (Carrick and Zlatan) to patch them together. If one of them spends a spell on the sidelines, it's IMO curtains for Man U if it isn't already.

We still have some potentially tricky games to negotiate (WHL, Anfield, Old Trafford) but the way we are playing it would not surprise me if Liverpool or Man City ultimately need 90 points to beat us - a big ask in any season. ATM we are on track for 97 points, higher than even 2004/05, which just goes to show what a good job Conte has done.

Dont think thats wrong. Arsenal HAVE the better squad. If Costa/Hazard get injured, we are going to find it really difficult.

Similarly, we dont have the back ups for moses/alonso.

Similarly, we dont have half a decent back up for Luiz.

Liverpool could and should have been 3 down by half time, Stoke then gifted them 3 goals so I wouldn't praise them too much. They are a disaster in defence still, city will tear them a new one on Saturday.

That would actually have been interesting to see. Wouldn't be surprised if the three of them managed to keep them up but i don't see it happening.
And i want JT to bow out lifting another PL-trophy at Stamford Bridge in may.

Imagine playing Swansea at SB with Lampard AND Terry on the other team though, that would be a bit of a mindf*ck.

It's gonna be Giggs I reckon, he's the romantic option for them.

Just been catching up on this thread and judging by the comments about the Liverpool vs Stoke game, I see this tedious "teams play the game of their lives against us while rolling over for our rivals" conspiracy theory is a thing here aswell.

God knows what our rivals must think whenever we play Arsenal...

Really looking forwards to Soton v Spuds game tonight.

Hopefully it's a thriller.

Vertonghen, Wanyama and Walker all sitting on 4 yellows.

Got a nice bottle of Shiraz, coated peanuts and large packet of Biltong in for this one.
