The thing about Pardew is that sometimes his sides look impressive, but when he gets found out he seems to lack answers.

Sam Allardyce will very likely keep Crystal Palace up if he's appointed. That's pretty much his speciality (that, and running into conflicts of interest).

So erm.........What is the Italian Super Cup?

Edit---

Ah, it is what I think it is, but what a strange time to play it..... Imagine playing the Charity Shield in late December....hmmmm.

Yeah I just saw this had been played, kept wondering why they played it this late. It's a bit strange,

“When I first went in to United my real target was Gareth Bale,” said the 53-year-old, who did not last a full season in Manchester. “I felt all along that Gareth Bale was a Manchester United player and I fought to get him [from Tottenham] right up until the last minute. We actually offered him a bigger deal than Real Madrid but Gareth had his mind made up on going to Madrid. He was, though, in my mind, the player I really wanted.

“The other one I came really close to getting was Cesc Fàbregas, who we thought we would get [from Barcelona] right up until the last minute. And Sir Alex [Ferguson] had told me there was always a chance Ronaldo might come back from Real Madrid.”

If that prospective deal never really got off the ground, Moyes had arranged to sign Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich before his sacking, with that transfer falling through when Louis van Gaal, his successor, opted against buying the player. “Toni Kroos had agreed to come in the summer,” Moyes said. “I’d agreed it with Toni himself and his agent. It was a done deal, so that was the level I was targeting – but sometimes you don’t get deals done; the Cesc one was disappointing, it was very close." - via theguardian

Poor David. At least now the world knows Fellaini wasn't his first choice at CM

I agree with him about United losing their traditions. They never used to brag about being the biggest club in the world. Now, theyre constantly saying it.

Shows how much they've fallen that they feel the need to stay relevant

If you have to remind people you are the king, you aren't the king

Or somethin like that

Something interesting I found on a Barca forum

Apparently their conversation translated.

Quote

Sanchez: Daaaaddy, I haven't seen you! I was saying "Where's Bravo?"
Bravo: Where were you looking at?
Sanchez: I was looking at the front... What happened? Who's he?
Bravo: Nooo, he just f**ked up his knee
Sanchez: Yes?
Bravo: The other day, eeeh
Sanchez: Who, who's the 8?
Bravo: Gundogan
Sanchez: Is he a youth player?
Bravo: Nooo, he plays for Germany
Sanchez: Haha, I don't know anything
Sanchez: All good?
Bravo: Good, good and you?
Sanchez: Good
Bravo: Looks like it, you're made a machine
Sanchez: Hehe, have to keep going forward, dude
Bravo: Yeah, the best, bro
Sanchez: Thank you, how many do you have to score?
Bravo: I don't know, if we have done sh*t before...
Sanchez: Yeah, we'll talk later.

Why are 2 games not being played on Boxing day this year ?

If every team isn't going to play on Boxing Day then why bother having Boxing Day fixtures at all ? I'm sure i remember being able to watch games at 4 different times on Boxing Day in the past. The early kickoff, a 3pm game, a 5:30pm game and a 7:45pm game.......so what's up with the Boxing Day fixtures this season ?

It really feels like they have been messing around with the fixtures too much so far this season. There has been some strange choices for Monday and Friday evening games, then we have the big games being played on stupid days rather than being a 4pm kickoff on Sunday. How many big games have either been an early Saturday kick off or Monday evening kickoff this season ? far too many so far.

Club organised protest to having a red card decision upheld.

What's that I just felt? Oh football hitting rock bottom.

Carrying on from last week with city players wearing gundogan shirts, football is so pissy and pathetic now.

Looks like Man utd have finally found a way to play to their strengths, can see them climbing up into the top 4 before the end of the season, assuming Jose doesn't throw another fit.

Even he look's shocked that it went in. I don't think he meant it to go into that side of the net to be honest, i think he was looking for the other side.

Miserable afternoon at Leicester. I can't even put into words how appalling Slimani was.

Spent most of the shift for which I missed both Christmas with my family and the Chelsea Boxing Day game getting moaned at for things that weren't even remotely my fault, freezing my arse off, and dealing with dumbarse staff. Bah humbug!

Bob Bradley has got to be sacked now surely. He is awful.

His sides look as they are unfamiliar with the concept of defending. Must sack.
