If we get top 4 and he still doesn't want to stay, no problem and no need to push for a move he will be sold. Otherwise I do think that he could have a place in the squad since Giroud will not be a part of the team.
August 11, 20187 yr So tammy is 3rd choice, therefore we are given a youth player more opportunity which is what everyone wants, right?
August 11, 20187 yr But Tammy is sh*t - some random watched every Swansea match last season and could tell.

Yes we just have to be patient and give him time until he doesn’t score a hat-trick within his first 4 minutes of being on the pitch. That’s when we consign him to the scrap heap with the rest of the no-hopers.
August 11, 20187 yr I watched a lot of Swansea last season, to see how Tammy got on, and he was poor. I don't think he's ready for Chelsea yet.

I'm always happy to be patient with youth players who demonstrate they have genuine quality but I don't think Tammy has it personally, for me Izzy Brown is the brighter prospect.
August 11, 20187 yr Really? I watched a bit of Brown, when I could, and he did basically nothing last season, before his injury. Edited August 11, 20187 yr by Zeta

The loans is where most of our youngsters have to prove they are good enough for us. And Tammy is nowhere close and therefore shouldn't be here.

Tammy looked ok in the pre season games, certainly not out of place, he gave me much more hope when he was on the pitch instead of Morata, he's still very young and will definitely improve, something you cannot guarantee with Morata.

From what I've seen of Izzy I still don't think he's been used in his best position, wherever he's been on loan he's been played at #10 or out wide. I'd like to see more of him at #9. I think he has talent that I don't see in Loftus-Cheek or Tammy.

Not unless he's taken massive steps from last season. And i thought he was horrendous against Lyon when he had the chance to prove himself so i am not confident. Morata is definitly the better player.

More patient than an unfortunate majority of our ‘fans’ seem to be.

August 11, 20187 yr Cant really understand how we have let Bats go..i think in a Sarri team he would get a lot of chances, and who better to finish them
August 11, 20187 yr Time will tell but IMO this looks a poor decision. And today, brightest player in pre-season (CHO) - doesn't even make the bench. Looks like new regime but same old, same old.
August 12, 20187 yr I disagree with loaning Michy out, but I also think that if we were to keep him then he would have to be a super-sub in either a 2-striker formation (with Giroud flicking balls to him for him to run onto) or in a 4-2-3-1 with Cesc (or perhaps Kovacic) feeding him through balls. IMO, a striker in a 4-3-3 has to be excellent at holding the ball up for his fellow forwards (ala Drogba) or possess excellent movement (ala Mertens). Michy's hold-up play is weak due to his relative lack of strength and his movement outside of the box is nothing special either. In addition, I'm not convinced that Michy has the stamina to play 90 mins consistently across a season. For all of his faults Morata's movement is a bit better than Michy's, he is somewhat stronger (though he goes to ground too easily) and IMO he is more capable of lasting 90 minutes, so I can see why Sarri would prefer him (or Giroud, owing to his strength) in a 4-3-3.
August 12, 20187 yr Alvaro, Olivier and Tammy all had a full pre-season with Sarri. Michy didn't. Is it any wonder that Sarri would want to stick with the players he's had a smidgen of time to work with rather than trying to integrate Michy late when the season has already begun. Also, hard to conceive of a more pointless exercise than judging Tammy on his form for relegated Swansea.
