June 22, 20233 yr A very sad day. The last of our true elite core. We'll not see his like again, one of those players that is so unique that you can never replace him like for like. Won everything there was to win with us. Merci.

June 22, 20233 yr We're really going to miss him. That game against Spurs at home last season, I was in awe at watching a truly world class footballer.

So damaging to the team and to his Chelsea career that his hamstring went near the end. Sad how injuries have wrecked his last few years with us.

As a MIDFIELDER he was not that great at passing, creating, shooting, controlling possession... Just ball recovery. Its in fact YOU who is embarrassing and has no idea what it means to be a technical midfielder. Kante was not good at many of the usual jobs a midfielder is required to do but made up for it by being very good at 1 thing (whilst he was still fit)

June 22, 20233 yr Kante was actually a find dribbler in tight areas. His ball carrying ability was just as good as his recovery imo. Made Fabinho and Fernandinho/Rodri look like mugs at times.

Includes his ball recovery skills which you at least acknowledge, and I agree, they are staggeringly brilliant. And then there's lots of other stuff which, you say, he is poor at! Doesn't look poor to me. Anyone? Anyone? Didn't think so. And that's just one Kante "is a God" video. There's literally dozens and dozens to pick from. Ex-players, current players, managers, journalists, TV pundits, even rival fans, all of them recognise and admire the stunning football skills he had. And then there's the consistency, the professionalism, the work rate, the humbleness. I don't think I have seen a poster on here mug themselves off so wonderfully, so completely, so hilariously as you have done in this thread. Brilliant Big Niggle. Take a bow. You will undoubtedly win a Shed End forum end of year of award for your efforts.

LMAO he was crap at passing and shooting and only good at running and energy on the pitch. majority of his final 3rd actions were truly dreadful. Not sure what kind of football you watch, but it seems like you dont seem to understand the nuances of technical ability. Pretty much everything people heap praise on kante for is directly linked to how much he runs 😂 I watched this full video and the majority is literally his ball winning as well, do not sure what point you were trying to make hahaha Dont get me wrong, fabulous player at his peak and as a ball winning DM he's one of the best ever. But in build up play and in possession? Very average, if not poor Edited June 23, 20233 yr by Big Nigel

Very average, if not poor Maybe because he covered a lot of ground and was the best player under Conte, you might believe that he's somehow very limited but he's not. Under Sarri he proved to be a decent player in the final third and Sarri kept saying that Kante is a technical player too that can play all over the midfield. The only thing he needed was the freedom to roam and read the game, something that he was the best at.

June 23, 20233 yr Mad respect to Mr Chelsea. Not a Lampard, but made every single player better in the team by being on the pitch. Took on the work rate and role of different midfielders. Anyone who thinks Kante isn't world class, where have you been for the last decade? Who in midfield has been consistently better? Won the title with Leicester... then champions league and league titles and cups galore with us. Love this guy, what a total freak of nature and an absolute stand out legend in our colours like Jt and lamps and the others. Hopefully we sign his kids up in the next few years if he has any... that or put a reserved sign on him for when he does. Monster player, gonna miss him as will the club, you don't replace players like Kante, once in a lifetime player.

Under Conte he played as the ball winning DM and he was unreal. Not sure why all the managers since have stuck to him being further up the pitch as well because lampard, tuchel and potter all did the same. agree with the freedom part though, he needed to get around the pitch and be everywhere, but in my eyes that was mostly as a defensive minded player and maybe running up the pitch with the ball if he had open space to do that. Just didnt rate him at all in the final 3rd, always thought he was pretty bad there
