“A fair amount”.. try missing 92 games in the last 4 seasons. Last season he missed 31 league games. How do you justify handing him a contract? Without European football we are bringing in less revenue, and have no leeway to be handing out a £300k/w contract to a crock.

I guess I see it differently. In the last four seasons we've had four managers.... Each with their own way to use Kante. He's out of contract, his call, but I really won't be sad if he signs up for more with us. Genuinely world class even half fit. Anyhow, Love the guy, difficult for me to move on from players like Kante. WHAT A PLAYER... How lucky have we been.

The money the Saudis are throwing around is staggering. They plan to make the Saudi League one of the best apparently. Wouldn't surprise me if they do. The new super league.

Pretty much what the Chinese were doing before their governement put regulations in. Personally I think it's good for the game to have strong leagues in other continents

Would have liked him to stay to ease the new era transition but yeah, we can't compete with that.

Worried by how we appear to be going down the route of having a defacto U23 team.

We got no European football next year, Kante be 'mad' to not take the Saudis money and stay with us. Wish him well, last couple of seasons could have been different if he played 10-15 games more.

So our story with Kante is coming to an end then.

What a privilege it has been to not only have this truly, and this term is used far too loosely but in this case is spot on, geninue World Class player at our club, but also this humble and amazing human being.

Thank you NG for choosing us and spending these years with us. Truly we were indeed not worthy.

No, we don't.

Main worry with this is that we'll lose an incredible amount of experience in midfield in six short months.

Jorginho (31)
Kante (32)
Kovacic (29)
Loftus Cheek (27)

All those are likely gone and we are basically left with Enzo, Gallagher and a couple of youngsters. The importance of signing the right players to replace them all can't be understated.

I know our squad is overloaded and we need to sell players to make it practicable, but I feel like we would do better if we kept the good players and got rid of the bad players rather than the other way around.

If Silva got a banner, why not NG? Anyway….

The time is right to move on. One of those players that were a true difference maker when in the team. His shift in the CL final two years ago is one of the best I have seen from a Chelsea player in the 40 odd years I’ve followed this team.

And quite frankly I don't trust the club to get it right.

I would rather take the risk on giving Kante another year or two than hope our midfield summer signings all hit the ground running without some experience to back them up.

The problem is the other team is only interested with the good one and will only give us pennies for the bad one. 

End of an era for sure. Chelsea legend and one of the all time best players we've had. He basically dragged us to CL glory and won us the league last time we won. 

I dont trust Boehly give Kante a reasonable offer, so this is probably the best outcome with the Saudis came in with an offer nobody would refuse. Some fans are just fickle to put it nicely, like anyone would turn down an offer triple or quadtriple your pay to work for another employer. Loyalty goes both ways, most footballers are mercenaries, and clubs treat them like that anyway

Shut up you bore. Mount got one because he came through the ranks to bag back to back player of the years. 

Be mad at Kante not getting a banner but don't deflect it at our other players. Name calling is embarrassing too.

Suspected for a while this past season might've been Kante's last with us. Didn't see the Saudi move coming though, always assumed he'd end up at PSG.

When he was fit he was absolutely sensational. Truly world class, and a steal at £35m.


Will be sad to see him go, but hard to blame him when the money being offered is so insane. He'll always have a spot in Chelsea history and I wish him well for the future.
