He invited Fer to challenge him, so he's got to shoulder some of the blame because he put himself under too much pressure in the first place. He was f**king about but it's 100% a foul, no question. He actually fouled him twice.
September 11, 20169 yr Ridiuclous game, poor referee, didn't take chances, Tibo maybe questionable, but we still showed some heart and fight here which is the main thing. Last season that probably ends 2-1 to Swansea, but we clawed it back, Diego can carry on being the media's villain as long as he keeps banging them in, problem is he needs help with the goals and I can't remember the last time Oscar scored. Early days and a fluke result, but we're up for the battle this season.
September 11, 20169 yr Let's get this straight, Cahill was fouled for sure, but the whole situation was self inflicted from the unnecessary pass to him from Terry to the Sunday league dealing with it. No matter how much you want to blame the ref, we should have won that so comfortably it would have been impossible for any ref to do anything about it. That was the wake up call that a new manger can change some things but with the same material as the last two managers, he's likely to end up with a similar result.
September 11, 20169 yr 28 attempts today, 7 on target, 2 goals - it shows more desire to score than last season, we just need to punish teams more. Roll on the scousers, we'll have to be on the front foot against them, can't have a defeat at the Bridge like last year

In this case Cahill was FOULED, and the referees mistake led directly to the goal. Hopefully Luiz has improved since then.
September 11, 20169 yr f**k off, i'm sick of this sh*t, no way should we have only come away with only a point in that game. I'm sick of every single game seeing our players get kicked to sh*t out there and every single game, the refs let it go. It's not an exaggeration either, it's every game. How many times did the ref let Amat get away with it today ? it must have been 5 or 6 times. It's not just him either, every game the opposition cynically fouls our players in dangerous areas and the most we get is a foul when there should be a card given. But when it's us making these fouls, the ref has no hesitation and brings out the card. It's a farce.Couldn't have agreed more. He bottled some easy yellows because he knew they'd lead to reds.
September 11, 20169 yr Courtois wasnt really slow, he had to come out because Sigurdsson was clean on goal , but the ball took a weitd angle and he had to completely change direction. Was a bit unlucky I felt, but clearly should have done better.
September 11, 20169 yr Don't often agree with Robbie Savage but he's probably right in saying Cahill should've stayed down after getting fouled, might've forced Marriner to actually recognize it.
September 11, 20169 yr Courtois did all he could he gets no blame as we got caught out and he had to come out

But despite the foul he's not dealt with the situation well leading up to that point, he's put himself under pressure probably because he panicked when he saw Fer closing him down so quickly. If we're going to play a system where we play a higher back line and pass out from the back we need our defenders more switched on than that.
September 11, 20169 yr That was a great goal scored by Costa. Thought we played well and could have won the game if it wasn't for the ref. Oh well, 1 point is better than none.

Garry was faffing about with it, last man should not hang about waiting to get dispossessed, foul or not he was at fault for making that a possibility.
September 11, 20169 yr Sorry but SortyLet's be real here...it will he the same tried and trusted line up as we've seen starting the other 3 league games...doubt if Conte will put either of the two new buys into the team before he's had a good few weeks to get his philosophy of style imposed upon their play...just hope Ivanovich isn't embarrassed again by Montero....

September 11, 20169 yr Still 10 points from 4 matches way better than last season and we will only get better we just need to be clinical which will come ....annoyed but positive as 2-1 we still looked way better than everyone else in the league even city

He was put in a situation under pressure by Terry, the pressure was unavoidable. He didn't make a mistake and to me seemed like he had it under control if he did not get fouled. It really is that simple... The referee is to blame.

I never seen a gane were you havent been in here daying ref is rubbish. Most of Amats feekicks were borderline imo, and the one on Ivan was never a freekick. Yeah he clearly bottled the Cahill foul, but gave us a freebie on Diego Costas high kick.

September 11, 20169 yr Imagine if United players were getting kicked around like this, there would be a yellow card given every time. I remember when Ronaldo was around, he would get kicked around a lot, the same as many other players for United, but the refs would book the players that were fouling them. Where is this fairness for us ? No f**king wonder so many top players choose to play in Spain, what is the point in coming to England if the refs just allow the opposition to foul you ? English football is stuck in the 70's and 80's.

Are you implying Ivanovic had a bad game today?! He was our best performer of the back 4. Terry lost his man on the counter for the penalty. Cahill dallied for the 2nd, foul or not. Azpi was so-so but was caught out with the diagonal several times. While none of our defenders had a stinker Ivanovic was easily the best of the bunch (more end product offensively than Willian had too). Does Ivanovic by default get criticized regardless of performance?
September 11, 20169 yr All of the criticism arguments would be like us playing the offside trap -- and then the referees not giving a clear offside with them scoring. Then you all trying to blame Cahill for playing the offside trap. Can't believe some of you honestly.
September 11, 20169 yr We played really really well for 85 minutes, if you add in some good reffing and slightly better finishing we would have romped that game 6/7-0, these things happen some times you get unlucky 95 times out of 100 we win that game so many positives on show.
September 11, 20169 yr Let's stop referencing last season! It's gone. This is a new season and we should be winning such games. Cahill was fouled yes but he took too long to play a safe pass. He is however not my biggest concern. My main concern is Terry and Matic! Liverpool will tear us apart with Terry on, look at the counter attack - Any defender should be be running shoulder to shoulder with Sigurdson but terry was left for dead! Matic on the other hand offers nothing in attack. We are slow in building attacks giving opponents a chance to organise because of Matic. We are in trouble and will be exposed because of these guys!!!!! Great performance from cesc, osca but above all - the Guv'nor!!! I'm really frustrated......
