Yes, pathetic. We're playing at a lower level than the PL. WE DON'T DESERVE TO BE IN THIS LEAGUE.

Moving forward, another wasted season. So early, hopes were high, only to be dashed before it even begins in earnest.

I'm not optimistic, perhaps some of you are and wish you good luck in hope this team shows you some respect.

We are truly useless and need a complete revamp of our players AND game tactics. GAME OVER!

Reflecting on last night's game having calmed down a bit we OBVIOUSLY went out there with a horrible game plan...

 

Brantley nailed it in the post above. Why would we sit back and "soak up the pressure" against what is in my opinion one of the best passing teams in the League? It seems our go to logic when playing against the big clubs and it's so negative to watch. Ivanovic and Cahill were actually comical last night, once we did eventually win the ball back in our final third we held on to the ball in the back line for about 6 years knocking it side to side or in Ivanovic and Cahills case looking at the ball trying to figure out what is at their feet.

 

The commentators mentioned it last night and it's doing my f**king head in, what is the point in all the stuffing about on the ball last night only to have the ball come back to Courtois to lump it up field. 

 

It's all just schoolboy errors and it's Conte's job to address them and quickly 

Gullit nailed it on match of the day when he said chelsea were so slow it was like driving miss daisy...thing is, the few times we went forward, Arsenal looked vulnerable...they just didn't gift wrap goals like we did

Can we all just settle down a bit. Like reading RAWK. It was a bad loss but we're still finding our way. 

The first few matches probably built up expectations too much. It's going to be hard. We can take those two losses but we need to get back on track against Hull.

We're still too open with and without the ball. We don't press and we don't sit deep. We need to sort that out quick smart. 

we have only seen Conte's mild mannerisms in interviews  up till now, the man is clearly pissed here and I love the passion, right manager, wrong squad, this lot need broken up they seem to feed negatively off each other, like he said all good players on paper but they just can't do it as a team, Ivan and Garry nailed to the bench new lb in and break up this midfield with a proper cm and a pacey winger. Needs to happen come Jan no matter what they charge or we could very well fall of the cliff and not challenge for years

I think once we get a healthy Zouma back. A defensive partnership of Alonso - Luiz - Zouma - Caesar will give our defense a much needed injection of pace. Hopefully that means that we do not have to have 3 defensive midfielders in Matic - Oscar - Kante and can sacrifice one of them (Matic) to add an extra player in attack.

i think a couple of things are happening firstly Conte is trying to show faith in his players (understandable, before Liverpool things looked kind of ok) and secondly better quality sides and managers (Klopp, Ranieri and Wenger) know our players inside out and after watching us for years know exactly how to unsettle us. The way to fix that is to start doing things differently and I would like to see us try a different combination at the back and to try to give Costa more support  

 

You can only beat what is in front of you.. City's fixtures so far are not much different from ours in term of level and pep doesn't have much talented squad than ours or at least have a look at their starting XI and compare it to our best XI, really, it's not much...

And lastly you're desperately trying to make a case for conte when you mentioned klopp,ranieri,wenger to know our players inside out.. for a start, both klopp and raniery have only been 2 seasons top with their respective clubs and as for wenger? when was the last time arsenal beat us before yesterday?

I'm still gassed about this. It's 1am here and I can't help but just want to break sh*t. 

This team needs speed and needs it as soon as we can. I know some of the youngsters have it. I also know that as bad as Ruben looked a couple of his last time out he has it and force. Lay him in Matic's spot and let's roll. Get Aina in or Alonso and Ivan on the bench. Zouma can't get healthy soon enough but Terry and Luiz can do the job for a while. 

Costa is ready this season and we still have a chance. We can take 3 off the scousers and the gooners when we see them again if we decide to get some athletes on the pitch with JT to organize them. 

Oh, we still need a proper number 10 in January. Cesc and Oscar can't do the job. We need someone who can burst forward. 

I have serous concerns about Conte He trains the team he picks the team he decides the formation and the tactics
and after being torn apart but liverpool , found wanting in the frst half aganst Lecester ,  Conte puts out the same player ,
formation  and tacticsat Arsenal  i mean FFS man we dont have a defence so bloody attack , Tell Hazard and Willian to come in of the touch line
and bloody play as there to easily put out of the game in there current positons hugging the white lines  and Matic  and Kante will never make runs into the box to support Costa
So come on Conte stop the PR bit telling us we must work  we need shape and a system the player believe in first and formost
 
 

Seems like Conte himself is the biggest problem we have. He kept on pairing Matic with Kante every game as if we were playing against Barcelona. Some people claimed its because our defence is bad. We have done it in all our matches this season yet it doesn't solve the problem we keep on conceding goals for fun.
Will it harm us if we pair Fabregas and Kante together so we can focus more on scoring goals more than opponents?

Have to agree with so many to conte isnt blameless here, every game we play we are set up like we are in the nou camp,we are f**kin chelsea, we should be blowing teams away, we beat arsenal 6-0 with a 33 yr old eto upfront ffs, letting teams play their game is just ridiculous

If Zouma coming back will stop Matic from playing next to Kante then we should do anything in the world possible to bring Zouma back ahead of schedule.
I can't imagine us not making top four again this season.

We basically need a goal threat from someone other than Costa and Hazard.  Too easy for the opposition team to shut them both down, which then gives us no offensive threat, and invites pressure at the other end, which we currently can't deal with, mainly for me due to square pegs in round holes.

I think there is an answer in the current squad. But we have to get the right players into the line up - the ones that have attributes that can hurt (decent) opponents ... which is not the likes of Willian, Oscar, Pedro and Matic, who are all basically plodders and not good enough for Chelsea.

If Ivanovic has to play at Roman's mandate, then he needs to play at centreback. He is a busted flush at rightback, where Azpilicueta or Aina should get a run of games instead.

 

 

I would still keep Ivan at CB till Zouma returns. Cahill needs to start playing with the reserves.

Truly truly awful performance . Hard to understand how Ivan keeps his place through 3 managers. Cahill too now but look at the first goal and the pass from Ivan set him up to fail. That said Cahill is now for me in the same boat. Why not give Aina a run. Can't be worse. Need terry and zouma back. It's hard for the testify the team to build when back 4 so poor, it's even making Dave poor now. Can't say it enough times PUT IVAN IN THE BIN NOW! he wouldn't get in the Sunderland team. Why on earth didn't we keep Ake this season. Lots of other things to improve but I can't get past 1.5 seasons of Ivan so obviously gone in the legs and never dropped. Conte has my backing by it's so bleeding obvious

 

Most has been said and all you guys make sense.  I like that we all see the same here - let's hope the manager also seeing this and he changes things up.  All I can add is that having Terry back will not solve our problem!  I'd rather play with Ivanovic and Luiz in the centre and give alonso a run.  One big problem is that our team is playing like robots! Too static and slow!  Programmed to do the same thing over and over again! The best defensive ball player we have is Luiz.  But he's being restricted to go forward with the ball?  I don't understand why - he should be given freedom! Look at Kolarov, Bellerin, Clynn, Stones.  They actually initiate the attack and are free to stretch the opponents!  We just need to understand when a defender goes forward, then the team organises to cover for it.  That's the job kante and Matic should be doing!  Luiz passes better than the two of them and will give Chelsea a new dimension and become less predictable. Also we should stop playing like we in the nou camp! You win football matches by outscoring the opponents.  I do not see why we can't just play Kante as holding and have cesc and michy or osca start.  Matic and Cahill have no place in this team!  United took out Rooney and Fellaini and suddenly looked like a team.  Manager should be prepared to make the same calls for us

Ivan is suited to CB play him there use fullbacks with the correct feet on both sides

I agree with parts of your post but City have a much better midfield and forward line than Chelsea. Even City's reserve midfield and forward line is better.

Chelsea defence and goalkeeper are better than City's and that's where it comes down to Conte. City have played Kolorav at CB and an ageing Sagna and still get results.

I've said it for a while already. He has never been impressive for us at right back. Was bad defensivly against Leicester on the right aswell.
