Lot of missed chances to be fair.  Looked more solid after the changes.  To be honest, given how little Conte was jumping about and shouting, I think we can gather that Top4 is the main focus this season

Well, that was sh*t.

A poor performance from us tonight. Defence looked as shaky as it was when we played with 4 at the back, and going forward we were so wasteful. I don't think Oscar and Willian have done anywhere near enough to get back into the team after tonight. A big disappointment after playing so well in the previous 3 games.

Thats a bit of an over reaction

It was...?

You guys seriously need to relax and calm down the there comes a point where you have to say we are still learning progressing let the man do his work

Didn't catch all of that as the streams I found weren't great. Disappointing obviously but it's not as if the scoreline really reflects the chances. One of those days in front of goal, and its better today than a league fixture at the moment.

Unfortunately it looks as though Terry's well off match sharpness, and despite bags of potential Batshuayi is still very far from being ready to play the target man against Premier League defenders.

Our finishing really is a continuing concern, we're so inconsistent in front of goal. Particularly from open play. Other than Costa, and even he misses his fair share, we don't have an attacker with a real knack for goals. Something to look at in the next window for me... a Schurrle-esque perhaps.

Anyway, tough night, but there's positives. Just roll on the weekend

hope Conte learned a few things from that:

firstly, don't show up in a track suit when your game day kit is suited and booted - it tells the players you don't really care about the match

secondly, don't play JT in a back 3; stick with what's been working

thirdly, don't play Oscar and Willian in the same side, they suck the life out of our play

fourthly, don't leave Moses at home with his feet up we need his energy right now

lastly, you can't make 7 changes playing a London derby away from home and expect to get away with it

Am not too fuss about this Conte will learn more by losing these games than winning

So if we won there would be nothing to learn from that ? uh, ok, i don't really understand that. He would have learnt just as much if we had won it. The only difference would be that he learnt some positive things about the team rather than negative.

we are still in withdrawal from last season mate, been shown chelsea again so the second we look shaky knowing how a good few of our lads lose their confidence and down tools a loss is never going to be a minor thing until a couple of good seasons have passed

Had we won certain issues that you you wouldn't notice when winning shows up like mentality of a player there reaction to different events in the match when losing body language

Yep. Plus it's a cup game and if you lose them then it's all over for another year.

I don't really understand how anybody can expect any fan to be anything but unhappy after seeing their team go out of a cup competition.

And if we had won it would have shown that the team can come back after going down 2-0 which builds even more confidence and belief. I don't know about you but i would still rather win this even if there were negatives in the performance.

Good effort to get back in the game but the horse had already bolted. Only positive tonight is Chalobah's performance. Disappointed by Conte's selections personally (Aina at LWB, JT at LCB) as for me this was a route into Europe next season but c'est la vie.

Just hope the pikeys don't get drawn against dirty Leeds :face_palm:

After the way we dispatched united this really doesn't bother me the team has fight and grit...
