I still think Aguero tried a shoulder badge looking for a foul and came off worse, especially the rear camera view. Both players knew exactly what they were doing, aguero made the most if some contact to try and get luiz sent off, luiz took a chance knowing aguero was away on goal and got away with it. It certainly wasn't a definite red card as many are claiming, but I'm surprised he didn't get anything. But then the ref had let fernandinho of with 2 usual bookings so screw them.
December 4, 20169 yr Results this weekend have been satisfying! The gunners looking really good though. We have winnable but tough fixtures this December which we should respect! Other teams will be weary of us and will give their all to get a result against us so we need to respect each game and play it like a final. The good thing is that Arsenal play city and Liverpool play city in December so we know our rivals will drop points. We should try and maintain this lead, possibly extend it because the others play themselves

December 4, 20169 yr I keep wondering do I not understand the game anymore cause in no way do I think that was a foul at all. They were shoulder to shoulder and Aguero seemed to make a meal of the contact. In what world is it a foul to do ways Luiz did there?
December 4, 20169 yr Watching Guardiola completely lose the plot on the touch line was a fantastic highlight. I bet after his first 10 games he must've thought he was about to walk another league again and have everyone fawn over him. Welcome to a proper league pep; here you're just another manager and nothing special. Edited December 4, 20169 yr by Ivanov87

I agree @Bobbywoodhogan in the good old days Aguero would have carried on running past Luis and might well have scored, but nowadays too many of these guys think it's better to fall to the floor and try to get your opponent sent off. I think the ref got that right.
December 4, 20169 yr In the Spanish league, or the Portuguese, that would have been a foul. In the English Premiership those contacts are not enough for the ref to whistle a foul. Sorry, Aguero tried to make the most of it but rightly the ref did not fall for his trickery.

December 4, 20169 yr There's no doubt Conte and his team are the real deal. When was the last time Pep changed his formation to counter the opponent's formation? To be fair, Pep got the tactics right and they should have scored 2 before we replied. However, with the change of formation of personnel, at least we had a chance to have some luck against them. A flat back 4 with Ivanovic in it will get thrashed 9/10 times against City. We coped well with their pressure, at least we made it difficult enough to score, unlike the last season. Brace decision to play Cesc, I'd bet Jose would pick Mikel given him the choice. As expected, Cesc wasn't great defensively, but that long pass to set up Costa, no one else in the team could do it. Great wind up job by Cesc to get Fernadinho sent off too I do't know what else the Kun needs to do to be seen as a ' dirty player'. I'm not even going to talk about that tackle, but every time he's chasing the ball against the defenders, he made sure to put the studs in on defender's foot at the very end, go watch a few replays.. The so called Luiz blocking a goal scoring opportunity is just laughable, it's a deliberate dive by the Kun. The Kun is strong with low centre of gravity, no way he would run into back of a defender and fall off like he's been shot. He tried to get Luiz sent off, the referee didn't buy it. Also, from 30m out from goal on an angle, I don't know how anyone could call it a goal scoring opportunity. The referee let lots go in the game, there were some bad tackles on our players got completely ignored too, fair game. 8 in a row, is it too much to ask 8 more?

Well, at least the players won't be complacent against west brom.. My worry is when we can not be caught, whether the players would be complacent in that situation..

It's the same when people and media pundits talk about a penalty not being given when there is contact between a defensive player and an attacking player. Wrong. It is only a penalty when a foul takes place. That is the rule.
December 5, 20169 yr It didn't start well for us, City looked dangerous and Cahill's own goal gave them a deserved lead. In the second half we would probably be out of the game if Kevin could score a sitter, from that moment i knew we would get something out of this game. Costa proved that he is number one when he is in the box as he slotted the equalizer. After that Conte played the counter and long balls which proved to be the right move and after Willian scored we were getting all the points. City were shambolic at the back, no control and all of their players were out of position. Again a new team win and eight wins in a row 22 scored and only 2 conceded. We were tested to our maximum, but it doesn't get harder that City away for us really, we now move on to WBA at the Bridge. A few easier fixtures in the next 5 for us, we will see if Conte will give some of the bench players a chance. Winning mentality is back and it is so good to see that Conte changed things in such short notice. Long may it last.
December 5, 20169 yr A couple of possible dark clouds after the match. Costa off with an injury (although the way he ran over to join in with the ruckus suggests not too long term) , Matic injured (anyone know the extent of?) , Luiz possibly injured after Cnut Aquero's scissor tackle. I reckon Fabregas could well get a retospective Red Card for the slap on Fernandino. So there's potentially gaps in key areas next few games. Edited December 5, 20169 yr by fitz

No red card coming for cesc, he was given yellow for it so it means ref saw everything and acted. Yellow cards are not revised after the matches!

December 5, 20169 yr I would have been happy with 4 points from our last two matches, content with 2. We got 6. 6!
December 5, 20169 yr I've been quite calm about the Aguero challenge but seeing how the media are covering for Aguero has made me angry. He clearly is that sort of player yet the media are acting like it's out of character. The London is Blue podcast had a good discussion on it aswell. Edited December 5, 20169 yr by Bobbywoodhogan

The London is Blue podcast had a good discussion on it aswell. The main argument for Aguero seems to be "If Taylor hadn't bottled sending Luiz off then this would never have happened". They can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact Aguero is a very sly and dirty player
