Man City Vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 3/12 2016 KO 12:30 GMT

Just looked at all these photos, what a great game it was. Makes me so proud to be a Chelsea fan, we showed so much love in one team, protected each other, fought for each other, we showed respect towards our enemy. This is how a team should look like.

Thought we were good for 25-30mins. Then they deservedly took the lead after a strong end to the half, helped by us not keeping the ball well enough. Our outball is the opposite side defender when teams press us. We didnt cycle the ball out well enough for periods, as we did against Everton.

Thought we done well again in periods of the second half, yet similar to first half shot ourselves in the foot by losing possession easily. They are at home and will always create chances. The good thing is we also created, and took ours.

What I liked most was for much of the match we tried to press high and stop them playing from the back. Far too many times in years gone by I would go into a game like this dreading the fact that I would be watching us defend for 90mins. It wasnt like that yesterday and after an hour we had around 46% of the ball which against one of the most possession based teams in europe is goood for me.

Can only see us getting better and can see a clear plan of how we are playing.

Citeh had a lot of the game and some excellent chances, but we took our fewer chances well.

Despite their chances our defence pretty good in places. Moses and azpi did well. Luiz excellent at bringing the ball out.

Costa is a great striker. He is excellent at the assists as well as the finishing. He will miss a few but really makes our system work well.

A draw probably a fairer result but I'll take the win. We are a competitive team but there is a long way to go.

I'd recommended all listen to the Gary Neville podcast he basically says that's he loved the scuffle at the end. Unlike the pundits on other stuff that give it the "we don't wanna see that sort of stuff" when in reality they do. Neville as usual cuts through the sh*t and calls it as it is.

Typical my work "night out" started at 2pm so I'd literally left the house a minute before our first goal went in.

I've just finished watching the game back and these are my thoughts on it:

- Aguero is equally bad if not worse than Costa is & it's about time he was punished for it, the lack of publicity it gets when compared to if it was Costa or Luiz is shocking. He's a fantastic player but extremely flawed, reminds me of Suarez.

- Fabregas, just as well Conte doesn't take his tactical advice on here, everyone was screaming for him to be hooked & he provided a second wonderful pass in the game to get us a great chance to draw level, he also tells Alonso where to play the ball for Hazard as well if you watch it back. He plays those passes no other player in our team can.

- Also, he was very cute with the tap on Fernandinhos face and I also think he was perfectly aware of where those advertising boards were and fell over them on purpose, very experienced play.

- Proud of Nate being in for his team mate as well, didn't look out of place when he came on to th pitch either!

- Costa is an absolute beast of a player, the focus he has this year to avoid all the fighting.

- Pep gets away with far too much because of the media love in with him, if Mourinho had done that sarcastic clap and thumbs up there's absolutely no question he'd have been sent to the stand.

- Tibo was class today, pulled off some key saves and helped to keep us in it while Citeh were on top.

- Azpilicueta has to be one of the most underrated defenders in history, for me he is one of the best in the world. Not his greatest game today but he's always where he needs to be when it matters such as the goal saving block.

As for negatives:

- Cahill went for the clearance with the wrong foot, doesn't matter now but hopefully he learns from it moving forward.

- I thought Alonso was more at fault for the back pass that put Tibo & Cahill in trouble than either of those two, he should never have been trying that back there.

What a result that was, arguablely our toughest fixture of the year, so happy and made me night getting pished even better!

Come on don't be fooled.

One good pass up field, that was his lot yesterday (apart from the bitch slap) and without Diego monstering it up front, we would have forgotten that pass by now. Alonso made a pass just as good for Hazards goal.

I was surprised to see Cesc in the team at all, he has always had nightmare games when we play away to citeh, never in the games, but i suppose Conte wouldn't know that.

The sooner we get our ball winner back in midfield the better.

One pass? That's laughable if that's all you seen in that game from him.

The pass to Costa, the pass to Hazard (which should have been another assist) and the clear instruction to Alonso where to put the ball for our 3rd!(which you've actually referenced yourself) he even points to show where to put it.

There's 3 pretty key moments he affected off the top of my head, 4 if you include the sending off.

Fabregas gave us exactly what we expect, some great passing which helped us win the game, almost anonymous defensively which allowed City`s midfield to dominate which almost lost us the game. Fitting him in is a problem, sometimes it will work sometimes it wont. What it does do is cause Kante a huge problem giving him a hell of a lot more work to do. If conte chooses to play him I really hope its no longer in place of Matic to do the same role, because he cant do it.

Guardiola is just a very unlikable person. Here he is sarcastically clapping his own medical team when one of his players got injured (Title is wrong, nothing to do with Toure):

Mourinho gets all the hate for his behaviour, but Guardiola is a prick as well.

He also had the pass were Hazard was clean on through and really should have scored. "If we take away the assist for the goal that turned the game around he didnt do anything". I know you hate Fabregas, but this is just silly.

How do you come to the conclusion i hate any Chelsea player ? Seriously get a grip of your dramatic grammar.

Because every time someone pays Fabregas a compliment its like some sort of bat signal goes off on your phone and you try your best to downplay his contribution and telling everyone that he is actually sh*t.

id probably knock this arguement on the head ha. Alonso hasnt looked at cesc followed his arm and thought 'yeah hes right ill put it there'. Telling someone where to pass the ball isnt a vital contribution LOL.

Here we go with Cesc again.

The result has glossed over the fact that we could have been 4/5-0 down if Aguero/KDB had taken the multiple chances that fell to them.

Sorry, but one assist does not count over the team's complete balance and defensive acumen. The number of times we were opened up yesterday was shocking. For 60 minutes, City were carving us open when and where they wanted to.

I am happy that Conte has put his faith in Matic and knows that the team balance is necessary.

Also, reading other threads, people are saying "Kante was not that good either". Well Matic playing alongside Cesc was not "that good either". But when you have to literally do all the bull work alone in the midfield, you just dont come out "that good". Sorry, but despite the assist, Cesc's overall performance did not warranty a change in personnel any time soon.

Decent opening half hour, then we invited pressure and started hitting aimless long balls.

Cahill maybe should have tried to clear with his left there, but it was a great ball into the box tbf.

Need more from costa, hazard and pedro. when we have got into good positions, we havent ended getting a shot off apart from hazards from the edge of the area.

Fascinating game though.

Hopefully step it up second half.

Only one I can see with a decent reflection of what happened in the first half...it was very even for 30 minutes...while we didn't have loads of shots, it was down to just getting the final pass wrong...we looked dangerous against them and is what gave me hope we could turn it around after a shaky end to the half...their defence looked just as shaky as ours

I never got good vibes about him as a person. Sure he's a quality manager, but I always thought he was a prick as well especially when you hear what some former ex-players have said about him in the past.

Anyway, I can't stop smiling about yesterday! I'm still in cloud nine!

Get in the cherries!! What a come back, 3 points clear at the top..where's all the drips saying we would never get top 6 let alone 4

4 points clear on both closest challengers and that means our top spot is safe next weekend reagardless of the results which put the west brom game into more scrutiny... whether the players would be as motivated as the last 8 games or not is intriguing to see..

Don't get too complacent. However unlikely, it is still possible we could be second if Arsenal beat Stoke and we lose to WBA.

Arsenal are3 points behind us mate

Press on Sky banging on about Luis 'foul' on Aguero  this morning.  I still think Aguero tried a shoulder badge looking for a foul and came off worse, especially the rear camera view.

Yeah, I didn't get it either! Normally I'm pretty realistic when it comes to decisions we got lucky on, but I didn't see much wrong with it at all? Aguero made more of a movement towards Luiz than the other way around. Luiz didn't even look at him. Sutton on MoTD banging on about it being a 'stonewall red' was a bit weird.
