If VVD signs Azpi is definitely shifting to RWB. 

I have no issue with this as it will likely mean we can play Fabregas more in the Centre alongside Kante, as his defensive deficiencies will be less of an issue.

Terrible is an overstatement. He offers enough going forward he wouldn't be a bad choice considering who else we have available. Moses is better as a WB, Dave is better as a FB.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us use a back 4 every so often when we need to control the center of the park more. The trouble is picking who plays in that 4 aside from Dave.

Last season he played 2 games as a RWB scored one and assisted one so I'm not sure where that statement comes from.

Also last season primarily as a CB Azpi got 1 goal and 4 assits.

Comparing that to Moses' 3 goals 2 assists playing much further up, he isn't exactly worlds apart in end product.

I agree though we will lose some dribbling ability and probably Moses' ability to break forward at pace, but Moses is a fish out of water sometimes defensively so we would be making the team defensively stronger if we can add creativity elsewhere, i.e by playing Cesc in midfield, because of this then I personally don't see to much of an issue playing Azpi there when needed.

This again is to accommodate VVD and isn't my ideal situation which would be to sign an out an out RWB instead of VVD but sadly there doesn't seem to be much progress for a RWB.

For a tema who has aspirations of winning the league and CL, Azpi at RWB is a no go. Short term or for cover or rotation yes, but long term you need a much more offensive player in that position.

He was a winger originally, so im fairly sure he can do well at wing back.

John Terry was originally a CM but i certainly wouldn't have wanted to compete for silverware with him playing there. Dave lacks an awful lot going forward in 1v1 situations.

I'm all for signing players of Van Dijk's quality, however more CBs is definitely the last thing I would have thought we'd be looking for. Apart from GK, literally the position with the most quality and depth in the whole squad.

Remember we're not just buying for this season but for those in the future too...

I wonder if it's Southampton who instigated this knowing he now definitely wants to leave but they don't want to deal with the dippers?

He said he wanted to play CL football...so we'll now see what he wants...he can have CL football with us...or stay at Southampton and see out his 5 year contract...

He's leaving, that's certain.
It's just whether he's going to Liverpool (which I'm 90% sure he will) or Chelsea.

I've caught so many outlets doing that even WAGNH, makes sense want to see fan insight go to a chelsea forum, this is the most popular one maybe bar reddit so it's going to happen. We should play a forum wide prank see if we can get them to report some utter bollox then feed the story of how we done it to another paper. Hey I just realised that was my quote cheeky bar stewards..:biggrin:
