Is that a joke? We're awash with cash...it's just the board don't like parting with it...

When you say board, you mean Roman right?

We're 1.1bn in debt to Abramovic, made a £85m loss last year and are financing a new stadium. We havent made a massive outlay on players for 3 or 4 years. I am surprised we are spending as much as we are and still surprised people think we are "big spenders"

Mate this debt thing needs to be understood, 1.1 billion in debt, covered by an asset CFC who are worth 1.7 billion, so he has made 600 million with us as the sole owner, it's not the charity it's made out.

We will never pay back that money, because he owes himself the money in reality, it's just done that way for many financial reasons.

In the case of aqusition a buyer pays 1.7 billion, all of that money goes to Roman and the debt is gone, there is no debt in reality, the new owner will now own a debt free club and the assets will still be worth 1.7 billion.

How can you be in debt to your sole owner? We were worth fuxk all when he bought us, his money made his own asset grow don't let the way it is set up financially confuse you.

Okay yes, I accept that. But it is clear that we are not "flush with cash" as some people here like to think. We clearly are not a club like Man City who are fudging their figures to make out they have much larger revenues than they actually do.

We are clearly trying to live within our means. So when someone casually says "lets spend £65 million on a player who won't be worth anything in 3 years time" I have to point out they are deluded.

Well look there is clearly a change in strategy, and I think the club owes it to the fans to make that clear, but that's another topic, point is once we sell Diego we are about -65 million in net spend, just accounting for player fees.

Add in the 150 million prize money, ticked sales, sponsorship, merchandise, that covers wages and leaves a good chunk, in light of the new kid deal, new sleeve sponsor, we were 50 mil up while buying out our adidas contract and finishing 10th, which means there is at least 150 million to spend and break even for the year.

To ask our club to break even while we rebuild our team under a new manager who over performed isn't too much to ask I don't think.

In addition there is the argument that commercially spending on players increases prize money domestically and in Europe, plus success brings more merchandise sales allows us to negotiate better commercial deals,  so it is in fact benificial financially to buy players that being is on the pitch success.

of course I'm realistic and I know there are better business brains than mine at work in Chelsea, but as it it looks like bad business, could be there is a strategy based on variables we don't know, if so let the club share some insight or at least make public the clubs direction to the fans.

its also possible, of course, that an outsider can have a clearer over view and the board are making mistakes or that they plan to do what we are suggesting but their members like marina are underperforming.

Either way we have a bit of cash to spend.

It's done it seems, thought of  Liverpool scared him straight. I think he could do well in the right system under the right manager but my issue is 150k a week, he has done nothing to warrant that, I mean double what Dave gets? That's not right.

Someone post the "it's happening" GIF.

Might as well get him on the back of shirt now if that's the case.

Makes you wonder why Wenger would field him in such an important match literally the day before he leaves.

Maybe has no one better why not go for the 3 points leaving or not, club will force him to sell 35 mil with a year left for a fringe player, manager would have wanted to keep him club would have overruled

Charlie nicklas was on before, and he was saying arsenal should just sell players that don't want to be there, and rebuild the squad. I don't see the benefit in them forcing Sanchez and ozil to stay. if they don't get champions league again this season, then they are in real trouble having lost out on feels for both of them.
