Don't get the overreaction to this, personally not that bothered. Price tag and Arsenal past would have set him up as the prime scapegoat. Would have gotten the Mikel/Cahill/Matic treatment from the twittering mobs.

Quite simple actually.

IF moses gets injured (not unthinkable. Look at his 2013/14, 14/15, 15/16 injury record), who covers him for right wing back?

We currently have 7 players for 5 defensive positions. One injury and we are down to Tomoris and Kenedys who Conte has specifically said are not good enough to play currently.

We have 2 days left to get a RWB/LWB and the board have been unable to get anyone knowing the situation for the past 4 months. Hence the overreaction. Absolutely shambolic from the board.

From "big talent that may improve a lot under Conte" to "he is not worth" and "average player". Guys, please, stop being  hypocrites. This will totally destroy our image or at least what's left from it. Emenalo and Maria are scrubs. That's truth. And they represent us so that means we are scrub as a club. Too many humiliations this summer just too f****** many.  Flaming the players that cannot be convinced and don't see us as a good place to land will not help at all.

Conte should demand for immediate dismission of these two. Either them, or him. They want us to look like Arsenal, to gather sympathies, and they think that's achievable by making cheap transfers or not making any, and he likes f***** winning. This is conflict of interests.

Whats the list of humiliations? That we didn't sign the 100s of players we are linked to every year?

Emenalo is doing great and so is Marina, really dont get why the are being scapegoated here. Marina has come in to do a job for Roman and that is to lower the amount of money spent on transfers and increasing  the amount of money received for transfers in while still being competitive. We have one of the smallest net spend of the top clubs. Shes done a great job in that regard and its quite clear Roman is happy with her. This scenario were the board with Marina and Emenalo in front are refusing to spend Romans money and he is somehow fine with that is so stupid that I find the whole idea intellectually offensive.

As for Ox, he has likely received insuranves of a starting role and is (quite justified) scared of spending most of the season on our bench.

You have to ask if he didn't want to come here, why we went to the trouble of preparing a bid. Did Emenalo not do the groundwork correctly when meeting with his agent? Did we renege on the terms we offered perhaps? Or did AOC get cold feet? Irrespective this is a cockup, everybody knows we need backup WB"s yet we've allowed the window to run down instead of getting the business done early. Embarrassing.

Piss off to the Dippers then you Gooner twat.

All 'jokey' abuse aside, this is annoying because we've pissed about for weeks and weeks on a middling player ability wise, who has turned us down because he thinks/knows we'll use him at WB which is a reason why he wants out of Arsenal. Aren't these things discussed during the tapping up phase? lol.

Let's hope we've got back up plans, and we are decisive and swift in following them up.

Doing great, is that a joke or what? Their job is to provide the transfers Conte wants. CONTE WANTS. For 2 transfers windows(I don't count the winter one), lets make a list and see what is going on. He wanted Coulibali and Bonucci, they bought him Luiz. He wanted Morata, the bought Batschuayi. Alonso was a panic buy as well. This year - he wanted Lukaku, now they bought Morata. He wanted Sandro - they bought nobody. He wanted Van Djik and Bonucci, they bought Rudiger. We can't finish Chamberlane, Drinkwater and Barkley deals and none of them is on his peak - it shouldve been easy but they can't do even that. Please, dont argue with me about how successful Luiz and Alonso were or Morata will be. This is not the question.

Also Walker and Danilo was his first choice, but we missed them. Mendy was also in our plans, the same thing happen, City get him.

Don`t see how this is a good board work ?

The reality is board should be happy with our managers - Mou and Conte so far saved their a**. We have a lot of players, that plays above their level thanks to Conte. But if or when he leave, the obvious lack of class will show and then we have a big, big problem.

To be honest, he would have been a good signing because of his versatility, his physicality, his pace and his untapped potential (and because he's English, AND because it would have annoyed Arsenal fans).

But he's not someone you're going to be devestated over if he goes elsewhere. He is a decent-good player at his current level, not much more.

Hopefully this opens up the Mahrez option as well as another fullback and Drinkwater/Sanches.

Who knows, wouldn't it be great if a Bony medical breaks down, Swansea say no for Liorente and in their frantic last minute rush the board says, "Alright, let's just dash over to Turin and fling all that cash on their heads for Belotti...?

A Man can dream... :)

Rejected us apparently because he doesn't want to play WB.

Surely it can't have been new information to him that we planned to use him at WB?

It might have reached him that Liverpool had called off the Lamar interest?

He was likely waiting for them to come in... and when it became clear they were going to do that, he said, thanks but no thanks to Chelsea.

I have two Arsenal mad Sons in Law, and both are adamant that the Ox is not good enough for Arsenal let alone Chelsea. He is "in and out" good one day, stinking the next. He doesn't want to play right wing back at either Arsenal or Chelsea, he wants to play in centre midfield, but he has proved many times that he is not good enough or strong enough to start there for Arsenal having been given many opportunities.

The Arsenal fans have, for a long time, doubted his efforts, commitment and ability to "train on". So Why all of a sudden (because our fans are desperate for a signing, ANY signing) should he be good enough for Chelsea.

Shambles. Right now we are in proper trouble.

We NEED two wingbacks, or at the very, very least one that could play on both sides. Oxlade could have been that man.

We aren't half the team we should we when Azpi needs to play wingback or Moses is on the wrong side or whatever. For a 60 game season we need Oxlade!

That isn't how it works, the boards job is to get players they think will be beneficial to Chelsea, it is not solely on what the manager wants. All though they will have discussions with the manager and try when within reason to provide the manager with what he wants / needs.

Last summer the manager wanted a CB, a LB and a ST.

Our CB targets were Rudiger (who picked up an injury), then Bonucci (who was never going to leave Italy) and then Koulibali (fee was north of 65m), but the primary objective was to give the manager a defender that was good enough to start and that was good on the ball. Luiz fit both of these and massively improved our defence. And therefore the board did a good job albeit a bit late in the window.

Next a LB can't remember any links/ other targets and I would imagine Alonso was someone Conte requested, again fits what we needed and improved the team but again a bit late in the window.

Next a Striker, Conte apparently wanted Morata who had just been resigned by Madrid due to a buy back clause, but I imagine the brief was to get a young promising striker who can play as 2nd fiddle to Costa and up in a 2 if needed. Bats was probably a bit to raw for Conte but would fit this bill for the majority of managers as the lad has potential and will score goals, could have maybe one a little better on this one.

This transfer window we needed to replace the players Conte wanted rid of and improve squad depth.

Conte didn't want Costa, we were told he preferred Morata and we got Morata, we were told the board preferred Lukaku we umm'd and ahh'd and we missed out on Lukaku, so what we picked up the managers first choice earlyish in the window.

Conte wanted an improvement on Matic, we were told that Conte liked Bakayoko, we got Bakayoko, and whilst obviously injured this was still done earlyish in the window.

Conte wanted a CB to replace the outgoing CBs, he got his first choice from last season in Rudiger and Christensen, again early in the window.

With replacing and improving the core of the squad they have again fit their briefs and actually done quite well and in keeping with the managers desires, where the board have done gooff is trying to bring in extra squad depth and replacing Chalobah, and they only have 2 days left to remedy this.

People seem to think if we have been linked to a player by the press and don't pick them up this is a failure by the board it isn't look at Barcelona and Madrid this window the 2 most appealing clubs have struggled to get any of the targets they were after, it is a tough business where the selling team has the majority of the power.

Not just your two sons-in-law but talk a look at any Arsenal fan forum and the vast majority of them aren't fussed whatsoever with a squad player in Oxlade-Chamberlain leaving.

Disappointed, really wanted him here but I called this earlier. I know it's only one source reporting this (that I know of anyway) but I'm more inclined to believe it as it's the BBC.

Would have loved him to join, would have been a great squad player. But if he has delusions of playing for a top 4 side as a starting CM then he isn’t the right player.

Confused why it got so far down the line. Maybe we didn’t even tap him up, just put an offer in and then had the conversations.

Bemused that 4 days before the window closes we were investing so much effort into a player that apparently doesn't want to join us.

So now what?

We ideally needed 4 more players and now have less then two days to finalise any business and here we are having players rejecting moves.

Not looking too clever right now.

That's what I can't understand, surely you don't bid on a player without knowing he wants to come? Unless he has had a last minute change of heart of course.

Could not say it better ..... f+ck the board

I agree that we do need 4 "TOP CLASS" players, but Oxlade Camberlain, Danny Drinkwater, Jamie Vardy, Fernando Llorente,???? REALLY ????

So now he wants to go to Liverpool and warm the bench? Fair enough. He would only be a squad player for us.

Now let's finalise deals for Drinkwater and Llorente! (Never thought I'd say that...desperate times)
