That's what I don't understand. Whether it's suitable club, playing time or expected role, surely someone would have had to have that conversation. Combination Conte and Emenalo. It may also be the difficulty with signing backup / depth players who are happy challenging if not immediate first teamers or taking reduced time.

Realistically now we have to find a way to make a backup / plan c player feel valued. Not easy.

If I wanted to beat a dead horse we'd talk about youth as a way around this.

Maybe Ox wasnt honest with us. He has certainly benefited from our interest. Liverpool will now pay him more and we set his value in the market.

That must mean that the Lemar deal is dead in the water...

They could just sign both. Lemar is a winger isn't he?

I can't see Oxlade getting into CM in their team either, but he doesn't have many options left at this point.

Phew dodged a 5 year 75 million (fee + wages) pounds bullet, I'm sure he will not win much playing for the hub cap thievers, still it's a similar lesser club that he's used to.

What the hell are you some on? The deal was agreed between Chelsea and Arsenal. At that point the player is not in the conversation. Ox apparently wants to play mf and we offer him backup rwb spot. Player chooses pool if they promise him mf. I think it is quite simple.

He'd rather not win anything at Liverpool than not win anything at Arsenal.
That's all you need to know about him and the state of that club.

Baffles me that we'd be signing Ox as a RWB anyway, especially when Aurier is going to Spurs today for a lot less. Surely its better having a wing-back who is good at defending and making them better going forward than the other way round - especially when you have Hazard and Willian/Pedro in front of them anyway.

Scousers have a lot of competition in midfield though, don't they? They have also just bought Keita for plenty of money and when he arrives next summer he'll expect a starting spot.

In any case, AOC is delusional, if he thinks he is good enough to be a starting CM in a top club at this point in his career.

Think we want him for his versality, considering how short the squad can be at times.

Fair enough, that does make sense. Just crazy that he rejected us because he wants to play in centre midfield, doubt he'd get that at Liverpool either.

We will start the season with the same squad we have now with only morata, baka, Rudiguer and Willy  4 players in and I lost count on the amount we let go so far

He's a dim witted fella ain't he?

think it may be more to do with his girlfriend who is apparently a northerner. she's in the girl group little mix. sometimes personal circumstances can sway decisions like this.

i think just chucking moses to the side after what he's helped us achieve is harsh. he hasn't been poor for us at all, and aurier is not certainty to be a fantastic player in the premier league by any means. if he was that good, psg wouldn't be getting rid for such a low fee. people said we should jump at buying krychowiak for central midfield, but now he's apparently having a medical at west brom. a lot of people seem to think they know better than professional scouts at the club and our board/manager.

I never mentioned Moses, I was talking about Ox coming in to play RWB. But as you mentioned it I do think that Moses is probably the weakest link in the team, was fantastic first half of last season then ever since he is so wasteful, especially if you compare to Alonso who isn't amazing defensively but his delivery and ability to score goals is unrivaled in the league.

I see what you mean with Aurier, but I was just trying to highlight the confusion I have at signing Right wingers for RWB when there are RBs going for half as much. I also think a large part of the reason PSG are getting rid is that he carries a lot of baggage as he's probably better than Meunier who i think is their current no1 RB

The board was certainly savvy enough to sign Djilobdoji, Hector, Pato and Miazga.  Such credence.

that's fair enough, but the board rarely ever have a terrible window. we have always brought in at least one or two quality players per window though.

The board like anyone else isn't all-knowing and to add insult to injury, selling players without getting replacements in only means negligence and complacency.

f**k him the little w**ker he hasn't got the balls to be a Chelsea player hope he enjoys looking in his trophy cabinet for a PL winners medal when he retires cos he won't f**king find one playing for those rat munching scouse c**ts!!!

They bought Djilobdoji for less than 3 million and sold him less than a year later for 8 million. Not bad business!
