Ox to turn round and say "In my heart, I never wanted to leave the might Arsenal"   ?

If he doesnt want to come to the home of the champions, then f*ck him! :)

No big loss. He would have been our 2nd choice wingback and 5th choice CM at best. He won't get any CL team to let him be 1st choice CM. He'll likely see out his Arsenal deal and move down to a mid-table team in the summer.

Just seen on Twitter that Liverpool will only sign the Ox or Lemar, not both. Currently they are in advanced talks with Lemar.

Leaves Ox in no mans land if he's rejected us.

Interesting....

Still, nothing a small slice of humble pie can't solve.

(It's the Englishness that makes me want him here, tbh. Club needs a few. Anyone up for Andy Carroll :} )

To be honest if he wants To sign for another side to play CM then its probably best he doesnt come here. Shame he didnt want To rise To the challenge but im not overly gutted.

Why not Theo Walcot?

Older cheaper better.

Because he has no defensive acumen. Never played as a Wingback in his career and is infact more of a forward than even a midfielder. So exactly WHY would we buy a player like that for the right wing back position?

Totally correct. The fault lies within the club in pursuing a player who doesn't see us as his perfect destination career wise. Mr Emenalo should be asked questions on why we have wasted time preparing a bid, how good was the spade work prior to the bid?

Older, cheaper , sh*tter. We're not that desperate.

(Sanchez to City... Sterling to Arsenal...

And Aguero to Chelsea... Hazard and Aguero in the same team... don't mind me...Just thinking out loud...)

Still reckon he can come here if Liverpool's Lemar deal goes through...next season he'll have even more competition for CM places when Naby Keita joins...

He's made his choice, best to respect that and move on. The last thing we need is a player not fully committed to the cause.

Doing great, is that a joke or what? Their job is to provide the transfers Conte wants. CONTE WANTS. For 2 transfers windows(I don't count the winter one), lets make a list and see what is going on. He wanted Coulibali and Bonucci, they bought him Luiz. He wanted Morata, the bought Batschuayi. Alonso was a panic buy as well. This year - he wanted Lukaku, now they bought Morata. He wanted Sandro - they bought nobody. He wanted Van Djik and Bonucci, they bought Rudiger. We can't finish Chamberlane, Drinkwater and Barkley deals and none of them is on his peak - it shouldve been easy but they can't do even that. Please, dont argue with me about how successful Luiz and Alonso were or Morata will be. This is not the question.

Don't half chat some sh*t.

Koulibaly would never have left Napoli for less than 60M that year, which would have been ridiculous. I think we can all agree D.Luiz has been one of our most important signings that window for half of what Koulibaly would have cost. He wanted Morata but once again Real wouldn't have sold and we had Diego banging goals in for fun. Batshuayi would have played back up, Morata wouldn't. Once Diego was out of the picture the board went and bought Conte his priority which was Morata.

Alonso may have been classed as a panic buy but if our panic buys turn out as good as Alonso then i hope we make a lot more of them.

Once again with Sandro this year we've offered crazy amounts of money (60M+) for a player that decided to stay at his current club. What should we have done? Double the transfer record for a defender and forced him out of his current club when he doesn't want to join us??

You conveniently left out Bakayoko that the board went and got that Conte wanted and i'm sure Conte would have wanted Kante the year before. Damn the board for signing the best CM in the league for a mere 32M and one of the best young CM's in Europe last year for a similar price.

Conte wanted Rudiger when he first joined Chelsea until he got injured. Conte clearly wanted the player and now he has him.

Stop blaming the board for everything and realise not every player in world football is obtainable or would want to come to Chelsea. Proper victim mentality thinking the world is against us, you might be better off on a Liverpool forum.

He plays for Wigan?

There's two of them...our one is by far the better...he had a terrific game against Everton U23s even though they lost 0 3...

No great loss, as others have said, who want's someone half committed to a position playing. Would have been a good rotation player but they can be sought elsewhere, whether we do or not is another question. Conte will need to do an 'arry at this point leaning out of a range rover window on deadline day signing contracts.

I agree that we do need 4 "TOP CLASS" players, but Oxlade Camberlain, Danny Drinkwater, Jamie Vardy, Fernando Llorente,???? REALLY ????

Agree! We are buying dross and fans seem to think it is ok. Imagine if those names had been floated at the beginning of the transfer window? The response to all would have been a resounding Hell No!

The prices been talked about for each of them just makes it way worse

We have so many players to fill up our holes in the team, but unfortunately, we will never see them playing:sad:

Let's hope that Andreas can break the shackles and show the club that we should be 'filling up our holes' with our young talent if we can't find better on the market.

is anyone else a bit confused why we're looking at a rwb, rather than a lwb? we are lacking on that left side if alonso gets injured, and i think azpi limits us if he plays that position due to not being natural left footer and poor going forward on the left. kenedy is supposed to be going on loan, so that's zero back up for lwb.

Sorry if someone has already noticed and mentioned this.

Ox would rather not join us because he feels he won't get to play in his preferred CM position and instead get shoehorned into a fullback position.

So he has decided that Liverpool is a more ideal club to join. A club that shoehorned a CM (Milner) in to a fullback position last season.

Good, for me he is not built like a FB to get up and down the pitch quickly, he is more like a bulldozer good at breaking through defences though even there I think he lacks end product.

Assuming he wants to play central midfield I just can't see how he gets more game time in the middle at Liverpool considering they already have  Wijnaldum, Milner, Henderson, Can, Lallana.

I mean, I get the that rejecting us if he doesn't want to play a certain position (though it's an odd mindset, given one of your strengths is your versatility but you don't want to be versatile?) but struggling to see how Liverpool guarantees him playing in his (alleged) preferred position, especially as this time next year they'll have a record signing arriving for the central midfield.

I'm not at all bothered that he is not joining us but I'm still mystified why we have left things so late for additional signings. Man City may pay over the odds but they recognise the player they want and get the deal done. Things have obviously changed the way we do our business and I can't say it's for the better. We have an outstanding coach who has got the best out of the squad but he needs help from the board if we want to challenge on all fronts this season and retain the PL.
