Maybe after Costa, Conte doesn't want another player that could cause trouble. Seeing as we are about to pay the same amount Tottenham have just paid for a RB, then i think there is a good chance that this is the case. If Aurier didn't have a troubled history, i think we would have gone in for him.

August 31, 20178 yr From my limited knowledge of Zappa, I think he's certainly more of a fullback than a wingback, however have heard some Italian journalists say he can definitely get forward and put a good cross in. Although I like the deal, seems strange because normally Azpilicueta filled in whenever we needed a FB rather than WB and he's the best in the world. Suppose more can't hurt though, would have thought LWB was the priority over RWB though to be fair. EDIT: Just seen he got 5 assists and 1 goal last year in Serie A, no defender in the Prem got more than 5 assists i think. Edited August 31, 20178 yr by KentPaul

He is a good player though shame if that's true, for me though, he is Ivorian from France and a new boy in a dressing room that has a Spanish /Brazilian/Belgian core, seems to all be great mates and get on well, unless he is going to parlez vous in kante and bakayokos ear which seems really unlikely hard to se where his influence would be, not sure how risky it could possibly be, if he is an arsehole move him on in Jan, stick him in the under 23s make an example of him, for 25 mil and a really good player isnit it worth the risk?

He is a good player and I think would have been an upgrade for Moses. Nut i also do think the guys has problems. Hits police officer and got a 2 month jail sentence. I understand he had UK VISA issues last year as well - let's see if he gets the VISA easily this time but I think he has discipline issues and that was a massive red X on him
August 31, 20178 yr Alonso made a mistake. Aurier is a c**t. At the end of the day he isn't our player so who gives a sh*t? Zappacosta would suit me down to the grown - huge potential and cheap. Sign him up and don't f**k this one up for god's sake.

You asked for a reason and I believe I gave you one. There are a lot more, like refusing to warm up during a game, insulted his coach and team mates and so on. The other incident you spoke of was clearly more a "one off". Edited August 31, 20178 yr by adacg

What Alonso did was stupid and a horrible mistake from him, but he is calm and professional. Aurier is a complete nutter, he could cause disruption and have a negative impact on the rest of the team, also with some of his antics with the press he could have a damaging effect on the clubs reputation. I would be positive if we got him, but now Tottenham have him i will be watching on hoping for chaos to unfold.

August 31, 20178 yr Aurier and Dele Alli in the same side is a recipe for disaster you'd have thought. The guy can't help himself. I'd be surprised if Pochetino can keep a lid on him, better managers have tried and failed.
August 31, 20178 yr Well, that's all over. Missed out on our key target. What is wrong with this club.
August 31, 20178 yr Conte was the manager that called up Zappacosta to the Italian national team for the first time. I'm guessing Zap was one of Conte's recommendations, which is a good sign.
August 31, 20178 yr So what's happened to Llorente, last seen heading for a Spurs medical? Has he broken his other arm or something?
August 31, 20178 yr Let's get this done RIGHT now, then we can spend the night slightly happier waiting for Drinkwater and Mahrez to sign!
August 31, 20178 yr I mean I suppose I get the points about him being an arsehole I have no input on that because I don't k ow enough about it, could be the case. The conviction I'm not worried about things can get blown out of proportion with the wrong cops and wrong prosecutor, I was in the old baily at 18 for kidnapp, GBH and false imprisonment if you were told that you would think I was a fuxking sociopath, if you heard the reality you would say ffs laid that on a bit thick didn't they. Not only did I not do a day in prison but I'm 35 and have never been in any sort of trouble since, what does that tell you, so from personal experience police concictions mean little to me when it's a one off, as for the arsehole bit if he is what everyone says he is then understandable but then why does potch think he can handle him?

Apparently he wasnt convinced about going to spurs so has wasn't just going for a medical poch also needed to convince him it was the right move for him.
