September 12, 20178 yr Author Just arrived at our hotel for the night!!! Starting to get my buzz on now!! Gonna grab some food and then off to a pub for a few pig ear's before the game! Lets go Chelsea
September 12, 20178 yr On my way to the game via the Wetherspoons in Victoria Station. Will be interesting to see who plays tonight. Need to score a few tonight just in case qualification to the knock-out stage is dependent on goal difference. Qarabag will certainly be up for it as it's their first game in the CL. An early goal for us to settle the nerves. Come on you blues.

An early goal for us to settle the nerves. Come on you blues. We have been there. Enjoy the trip and be safe. I agree, Qarabag will be carrying the banner of their entire nation and being the first match of group stage, I suspect we will get their best. I understand the need for the XI rotation, just hope Conte gets the right mix. Having both Hazard and Morata out of the XI (per the Telegraph) scares me a bit. Be loud tonight and let's see if we can get the win as expected. 6-0 would be nice. Come on you Chelsea!!
September 12, 20178 yr see we beat their youth side 5-0. here's highlights: on a side note, hudson odoi looks like a fine little player. Edited September 12, 20178 yr by enigma
September 12, 20178 yr Can't lie, I'm getting excited, it was disappointing to miss CL. Now we're back and will go hard! COME ON CHELS!
September 12, 20178 yr Drinkwater is out and Hazard 'will be on the bench' according to Conte. Hope we get to see Zappa and some of the youth get a run out.
September 12, 20178 yr Chelsea team: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahill (c); Zappacosta, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Willian, Batshuayi, Pedro
September 12, 20178 yr thats actually a pretty good line up. Not as drastic a change like I was expecting.

September 12, 20178 yr Good pick for the XI from Conte. If we can jump out early, we can sub out Azpilicueta, Alonso and Kante in the second half, all the while resting Luiz, Moses, Bakayoko, Hazard and Morata. A surprised with Courtois at keeper, but guess he wants some reps after Leicester match Come on you Chelsea!!
September 12, 20178 yr Don't think Musonda is on the bench, what a shock. He should have asked for a loan move.
September 12, 20178 yr Big chance for Batshuayi, good lineup by Conte, expected Hazard to start but I'd be happy with 45 minutes for him as well. COME ON CHELS!!!!!

Caballero, Rudiger, Luiz, Moses, Bakayoko, Hazard, Morata. Those 7 just might be able to take their 11 down 4 men. Come on you Chelsea!!
September 12, 20178 yr On a side note, Man United also going pretty full strength vs Basel at home. DeGea, Lukaku, Matic, Mata, Pogba and the usual regulars in their XI. More I think about it, maybe we are going full strength bench, but easy on the XI I suppose. There are just no youngsters in our XVIII. Come on you Chelsea!! September 12, 20178 yr Good line up time for Michy to pick up some form as he has looked average so far this season.

Thats what I miss about Mou he makes sure he gets the job done in competition football, I would have started full team, game would or should have been over by half time, then rest key players, it's Tuesday early season.

We have an extremely strong team out with arguably only 3 players (Luiz, Moses and Morata) short of our strongest starting 11 given Hazard is lacking match fitness, hardly not taking this seriously Edited September 12, 20178 yr by PedroMendez
September 12, 20178 yr Tonight "should" be an excellent opportunity for Batshuayi to pick up a goal or two to prove he can provide some depth. His hold play should be better. His dribbling should be better. He needs to play unselfish as well. A poor game tonight would just be a head shaker. Really looking forward to seeing Zappacosta at wing. Come on you Chelsea!!

Mourinho has come out guns blazing, for me that's the better move, and he is in an easy group he can afford to get a draw, we need a 4-0 here. Anyway I'll trust conte, not going to start on a downer, lets go. Edited September 12, 20178 yr by DonAntonio
