If everything stays as it is and England get through the last 16, then we get either Brazil or Germany.......i think i would prefer us to finish 2nd.

If we finish 2nd, we get either Mexico or Switzerland. They are both doing well, but our record against Brazil and Germany is terrible, so i would rather we went up against Mexico or Switzerland.

No comment on Australia?

Mind, it'd be great to get to the last 16 and a modern miracle if we made the QF.

Wouldn't surprise me if we drew or even lost to Peru (though Peru haven't been lucky scorers - forgive the pun).

I put a fiver on England a couple of months ago about 30-1 to win the Cup, I liked the odds.

I'm not convinced currently, though we are scoring against lower rated opposition we make the odd mistake in the area between our CBs and Midfield which clinical sides might well take advantage of.

Kane, Stones, and Lingard very good goals.

Didn't see the RLC card incident, was it a yellow or unlucky?

The yellow was a bit unlucky, he seemed to just bundle into the Panama player but there wasn't really any cynicism in it. He fouled a few minutes before so it may have been for persistent fouling.

Thought his yellow was harsh.

Good win, switched off a bit at the end, but to be expected so far ahead and in that heat.

Just showed one of my fav world cup.moments. Platt's goal against Belgium in 1990. Would be brilliant if we could get a good run again into the latter stages.

Double-edged motivation for the Belgians, they hit the post twice in that one though agree a fantastic goal by Platt.

Me vs Me in the works sweepstake and there was nothing separating me.

C'mon, one of you must have a slight edge.

Judging by today's match, Senegal won't be the first African world champions, neither Japan the first Asian champions. Especially the former is a tragedy, as I adore the Senegal manager.

I must admit when Gareth Southgate was appointed I wasn't at all convinced but credit where credit is due,  I'm liking everything about him so far.

He's going about his job quietly and professionaly and seems to have blended a real team spirit into this England side. Great stuff.

I was somewhat optimistic after hearing what he had achieved with the younger England sides especially after having a number of experienced managers and playing poorly.
