It was a bit tongue in cheek, I'm not comparing their wages fees, I know Carroll is the much cheaper option, but christ, it's Andy Carroll. We should be looking at Timo Werner or Aubameyang or even Giroud. Carroll has never really accomplished anything at any club he's been at.

I'm not for or against signing him, but if we did buy him he would be at best 2nd choice and most of his minutes would be as as impact sub.

Agreed ,if we don't want to spend big than lets wait for this season to end and target someone good , i still feel leon bailey is someone we should grab real quick , get the deal done and he can join in summer 

If this goes through, I honestly don't know where we go from here. Tibo and Eden still haven't signed yet. Bringing in Ross Barkley and Andy Carroll is hardly going to sway them, is it? It used to be you had to play well and impress a "big" side before they bought you. Now it just seems like we'll sign anybody.

He's scored 2 goals this season... 

Andy Carroll, 54 goals in 8 Premier League season's and can't stay fit for longer than a few weeks. Honestly, i just don't understand this move. The only thing he has that is better than Morata is strength. His main quality is his heading ability, but our crossing is so poor that i fail to see how we can make the most of it. 

If this goes through, then i wouldn't be surprised if it's for far more than we should be paying for him. What has happened to us ? Why are we paying so much for average quality but buckling when we are asked to pay a bit extra for top quality ?

Assuming you have an inside source, any idea what sort of price we are looking at? I assume this would be a permanent deal as Hammers had no interest in a loan deal.

I think i'd honestly rather sign no one and finish fourth than sign carroll and finish..... fourth 

Realistically if we're going to spunk 30 million on Carroll, why not wait till the summer and see if we can bring in someone good for 60 million, having saved that 30 million that he would cost us in medical bills. If he signs i'll support him, until then I'm completely against it. Recall Tammy instead. Swansea are w**k and are doing nothing for him

I agree with you. I'm not keen on this move but of course I'll give him a chance and support him like every other player if he signs. I do wonder where it would leave the likes of Tammy though?

yeah i'm not a big fan of his or particularly happy about it, but if he comes he comes and i'll support him and cross my fingers he proves me wrong. i do hope it's not on a permanent deal though otherwise it will make the missing out of llorente look silly if we end up paying 35m for carroll. the thing is, we already spent big money on a first team striker so it makes zero financial sense to spend out another £60/70m on someone like aubameyang. as much as people are frustated we are in a goal drought, people need to have more patience with morata. for all we know everything could click at the weekend and he scores a hat trick.

Oh I totally agree, it's very unlikely we'll spend after signing Morata, and as frustrating as he's been the last few games, I'm a big fan and think he just needs to work on a few things before he'll be banging in 25-30 goals a season. Just seeing United with Rashford, Lukaku and Ibra and Man City with Aguero and Jesus makes me question why we couldn't have two top strikers. We're falling behind with squad depth compared to City, United and even Livepool and Spurs. 

If Carroll does sign i'll support him every game, and hope he can overcome his injury issues, i'm just awfully skeptical
