I thought Hernandez was the one the Hammers wanted to let go?  I think he'd be great for us

How so ? his hold up play is nonexistent and he has no strength. He's been really poor leading the line for West Ham this season. What would he offer us that we don't already have in Morata and Batshuayi ?

He's been poor for them because they've been woeful (until recently) and lost out in posession/chances created in almost every game.  He has a proven record of being able to put the ball in the back of the net with the right service which we are missing far more than Moratas apparent lack of hold up play.  He's better in a better team and a proven poacher.

Only once in his career has he scored more than 10 PL goals in a season. And that was 11.

How is that a proven record of putting the ball in the net?

Plus in that the 6 years at West Ham he's managed on average 22 games per season, in all competitions. So he is unreliable to boot.

There are no plus sides to this transfer.

You've jumped the gun again Zeta, I'm not even talking about Carrol.

We don't create chances a poacher would score though. He would be incredibly ineffective against packed defenses, something we seem to come across in almost every game these days. In a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, he would be isolated. Morata and Hazard are often isolated and the attack breaks down, imagine what it would be like if Hernandez was there, he would struggle even more.

SO when would he be effective?  He's not effective in a sh*t team and not effective in a good team, why has he scored so many goals his whole career?

He's effective, and we absolutely are capable of creative the right chances for him if he was in the team.

Fair enough, but this is the Carroll thread, and you were talking about a West ham striker.

Please mate you've been talking about Bakayoko and Drinkwater in an Antonio Conte thread.  It's a Chelsea forum and this is a rumor section. Play on I say

Proper feel for Hazard. Sign a Striker that can link up and finish. If not, just sign Walcott and let him run down the wing and drop a ball on Morata/Carroll's head.

it's one thing signing carroll. But signing Walcott would be even more diabolical.

He'd be what you need to play with Andy f**king Carroll. Some bang average football that has pace to beat a full back and drop a ball into the box.

Hazard would be wasted with Carroll.
