Absolutely. He and Pulisic were studs after the restart.

Mind boggling that one sits on the bench, and the other is played out of position.

I think if Giroud comes deeper and wins a header it can be a clear chance for us to score with Pulisic. Also Kai and Giroud could make a good duo in the central area.

He's only going to be playing when Werner and Tammy need a rest despite being in form for us last season and for France.

Tammy still scores at a decent rate and needs minutes to improve so it's hard for Lamps to justify giving them to Giroud who is 34 and probably is playing his last season for us.

Tomori needs minutes to develop too. So what is the justification for Silva starting ahead of him?

Is rather simple for me and is the most difficult to understand of Frank's choices. If you want your best chance to win things you pick proven expierence in the likes of Giroud and Silva. If development for the future is the aim Tomori and Abraham should play.

Giroud being frozen out is really poor from Frank imo.

Tomori is a strange one, he was left out for seemingly no reason, not like he was making mistakes left and right last season.

I think Tammy and Giroud can have periods where they are ineffective but Giroud certainly is our only striker that offers some different tactically in the form of a target man, and a damn good one at that. The problem if you can call it that, is that Tammy has good positioning and scores the goals that justifies his place, not over Giroud as they both have similar goals per game but on paper he could argue that both strikers are as good as each other.

I like Oli but he's streaky he always has been, when on song like he was after the lockdown he's a real asset but his career trajectory suggests it wasn't lasting long if atall into the new season  (if he remained #1).

Worst bit with Giroud is that the same happened last season. It took us 6 months to work out that he was the best striker to fit the team style and when we did he turned it all around for us. Pulisic, Ziyech and Havertz working in and around Giroud could be a sight to behold. I'd like to see it soon.

Didn't that happen the season before that as well?

The season just started last month for crying out loud.

There's gonna be a sh*t load of tight fixtures and Giroud is going to get his opportunity to play. Right now we've grabbed Werner who has to be playing in the middle otherwise we're wasting his talent and signing. Tammy has shown positive signs when he has played, especially with Havertz, Giroud will get his chance eventually.

Nobody is expecting Giroud to start regularly but the problem is he is not even getting minutes as substitute. And Abraham is the reason for that. The thing is he hasn't showed anything. He looked impressive in a Carling Cup game against some scrubs and pretty much this is it. He scored an equalizer to WBA but he was terrible that game. Also this goal was nothing special. It only won one point, its not winning us two.  He played 90 minutes against Palace, 90 minutes against WBA,  15 minutes against Liverpool and he is our  first forward substitute based on what exactly? The against the Barnsley or whatever?

Giroud only got a chance in the game against Spurs for Carling Cup.

So what if the goal was nothing special? He did what he had to do, he scored a very important goal. Most of Girouds goals aren't pretty, but he gets the job done.

It's been just over a month since football started including two international breaks, people need to calm themselves. There will be time for Giroud to come in when we need him, that will be when Werner needs a rest or if he's injured. And with the fixture congestion coming up, there's going to be a lot of rotation.

I hope you are right about the time. But the goal was not special because it wasn't important. It only added 1 point. Had he score his chances while 0-0 we could have won two more.

Btw I think most of Giroud's goals are actually pretty good. He suffers to score the easy ones.
