May 22, 20206 yr Giroud has certainly grown on me. I must admit that I liked him when he was at Arsenal , and of course I like him much more now.
May 22, 20206 yr We need some older winners in the group and Ollie is one. Looks like everyone likes him as well in Chelsea. Can't let him go really. As I said in Ziyech conversation our striking trio is not the problem for low number of goals. We just need some special skill and chemistry between the strikers and the creators. Tammy and Ollie are good for us. Replacing Bats is something we could do but he has carried him self well this season I think.
July 26, 20205 yr He’s been great for us since almost leaving in the last transfer window. Thank goodness he stayed. Edited July 26, 20205 yr by erskblue
July 26, 20205 yr Player of the season for me. Without his contributions we do not make the top 4. An absolute wonderful footballer and a class act. He was patient and fought for his place and has given us absolutely everything he has. He walks off the pitch completely exhausted due to the effort he puts in every time he pulls on the shirt.
July 27, 20205 yr A season that will remembered by the upcoming youth players, yet it's Giroud who really stepped up after the restart and got us the 4th spot. I reckon Lampard will look back and admit he under played Giroud during the first part of the season. He's a definite starter for the FA cup final, and our most likely scorer on the day.

July 27, 20205 yr He's been up there with our best players since the restart, but I reckon there are a few reasons why: 1) His tendency to perform in vital moments (cup finals/crunch games) 2) His tendency to go on hot streaks and score in clumps - partially due to his nature as a target man but I think also due to fluctuating confidence levels 3) The nature of the defences he's been up against (teams tend to sit back against us because they expect to exploit our problems finishing before picking us off on the counter - if there's anything that Giroud thrives against, it's a deep defence due to his target-man qualities) 4) Pulisic has been extremely dangerous since the restart, forcing the opposition to man-mark him, which in turn allows Giroud more space (which he really needs because of his lack of pace). Wolves marking Pulisic made him less effective, but it allowed Giroud to wrap the game up.
July 27, 20205 yr Actually now that I think of, Frankie did well with both Abraham and Giroud. At the start of the season Tammy was rolling and he played now it's Giroud and he plays. Frankie shows no sentimentality and always takes the right decision without much of a hesitating. For example Antonio kept playing Costa and never gave a chance to the subs to did what Girous does right now because he was too sentimental with Diego. Anyway, Giroud is now banging goals and he really looks like a world class forward but unlike Tammy he's proven to be key player in winning teams even if he doesn't score much. Just look at his runs with France and his performance last year around Hazard and Willian. Tammy ain't doing that, he just consumes. You can judge Tammy solely on statistics because otherwise he is useless. Giroud is probably one of the top 5 forward in the football to combine with and he surely is the heaviest and toughest one out of these false 9s and lightweight players. This is rare combination. That makes him so foking important for us and I just don't want to see him gone. We must offer him a new deal at all cost. Edited July 27, 20205 yr by Droopy

Abraham was a starter and rightly so. He was playing really well for a while. But Lamps preferred Batshuayi to Giroud, so he definetely did underplay him.

He played Bats instead of Giroud due to being quicker and more mobile, but then when we needed a striker with better technique and hold up play Oli was used. Oli ended up working better overall and suited the team far better than Tammy or Bats.
July 27, 20205 yr I honestly think that because of the attacking football we play now, even if we played Giroud instead of Tammy from the get go he would have still performed as well as he is doing now, who knows maybe he would be on 20+ goals by now if he was first choice. Don't forget he played the Super Cup and scored but then was immediately dropped afterwards, his momentum and motivation was messed with all season and he still came back from it all to deliver, what a player he is.
July 27, 20205 yr His finish against Wolves was world class. We need quality like that up front. Even if Frank decides to play Tammy again next season he is such an asset to have on the bench. I don't see how he doesn't get another season.

Unless your name is Mason Mount, he must be his illegitimate son or something. Giroud is much better than Tammy though. If we can sell Tammy i think we should. No space for him with Werner coming him, and some teams might be fooled by his numbers and offer us a lot of money for him. P.S Im pretty sure Giroud signed a new deal a couple months ago, so he'll be with us for the next year at least. Edited July 27, 20205 yr by driller97

July 27, 20205 yr Beautiful man with amazing attitude and the bottle to get the goals when needed using any means possible despite his obvious limitations
