Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

I hate when fans say stupid things like this because they are blinded by emotional bias.

Napoli are simply looking out for their own interests, same as any other club including Chelsea would and should do.

It's not emotional bias, it's sound business sense. They regularly ask for too much for players and don't negotiate. Why deal with an entity like that? Especially when there are much better clubs to deal with.

“One of Maurizio Sarri's fitness coaches posted a photo on Facebook yesterday saying they are enjoying the sun, then with an emoji of a plane with London written next to it.” #CFC

Its getting desperate now..

Daily Mail article... dont tell me chelsea had no idea about Sarri's past, you tend to look into this when determining your next move.

I dont buy that one bit, it is all bullsh*t IMO. Like that Italian Pedulla said, Chelsea and Sarri talk, agree terms, contract sorted; then the day his clause expires stuff comes out about his past, nonsense.     We can't let it drag on much longer, another week or 2 at the very very most id say. Even that seems too long.

I do think there is some truth to the Blanc stuff, though

Reckon we should just hire Blanc and crack on with signing some f**king players.

Question marks over Blanc is whether he can coach the style he played at PSG at Chelsea. A lot of articles imply their positional game was down to highly intelligent players rather then coaching. On the other hand he does win everywhere he goes.

So sign intelligent players and ship out the deadweight. I think exactly the same could be said about Sarri's style, in fact I don't think it evens matters who the f**king manager is - we're not going anywhere fast with the likes of Barkley/Bakayoko/Fabregas, get rid.

Not so easy. Guys like Veratti and Di Maria are really expensive and few and far between. Sarri has shown the ability to coach into his players that intelligence, Blanc has not. There are reports that he doesn't do training sessions and is more of a motivator.

He is a very good winner though and his PSG side played fantastic football at times.

No of course I'm not suggesting we sign Verratti or Di Maria, but I think we can sign the likes of Ndombele, Thiago, Pastore, Vazquez. If we don't I really don't think it will matter who the manager is, we can say goodbye to Tibo and Hazard. They simply won't stick around to play with the utter sh*te we have at the club at the mo.

Napoli Vice President today posted a “goodbye and good luck” message to Sarri on Instagram and then deleted it.

Prob means nothing though..

Where did you find that? Interesting

I agree that we need those types of players no matter who we bring in as manager. Thiago is a must in my opinion for the holding midfielder role and Vazquez would be a great signing for the wing. I'm not a big fan of Pastors though.

I think Pastore is quality personally, I think we need a #10 like him to bring out the magic in Hazard again imho (just like Oscar did every now and then). Ndombele, Thiago, Kante in midfield and I think we could give City a serious run for their money next season (and if we don't I'd say we're nailed on to qualify for the CL either by finishing top 4 or winning the Europa League).

If we keep Barkley, RLC, Bakayoko, Fabregas around next season I'm confident we're not doing sweet FA, it will be just another year of occasionally good performances but ultimately inconsistent results.

Just breaking on SSN he's unlikely to become manager due to concerns about previous comments.

What a mess!

Sources are crap. I highly doubt that’s the reason if we don’t end up signing him.

My opinion is that we will.

Have you ever heard people say "don't listen to Sky Sports news" ? Well this is one of those times...

You mean Sarri's previous homophobic comments? The Alfredo Pedulla guy said the english media are reporting false and unreliable news and not to be trusted. SSN can do one.

Yeah you go through a whole vetting and interview process ahree a deal with the bloke then 2 weeks later you suddenly found out he previously called Mancini a puff or whatever it was, likely.

well done sky sports for coping a stupid daily mail article

So basically after going through all this hassle with Sarri and Napoli we suddenly decide to draw the line due to his past comments? Sorry, I don't believe this...

We would have known about past comments by Sarri, everybody in football knows.

Matt Law -

"Chelsea knew about Sarri's past when they first considered him. If they don't end up appointing him it will have nothing to do with his previous history and everything to do with money. If his lawyers can make him a free agent let's see what happens. If not.."

The thing that worries me about this whole ordeal is us not wanting to pay the 8 million fee to release Sarri. 8 million is a small amount in football, we suffered last Summer because we tried to pay the lowest amount of money possible for players and basically failed to get almost all of our first choice targets due to this

I keep hearing about us wanting to sign players like Bailey, Lewa, Icardi, Martial yet we are hesitant about paying less than 10 million on a new manager. I'm not exactly sure what our board is up to, we are a rich club with high revenues and making big money from sponsorship's, if we were cash strapped it would be understandable to go about the way we are

The board must be confident in Sarri and their lawyers being able to find a way to resign without adhering to the clauses in the contract. My only explanation.

It may just be a very clever PR stunt, "interview" Sarri, don't pay the release clause, send a message that we don't tolerate bigotry in any form. We could certainly use the PR in light of our unfortunate past. £8 mill is chump change for Chelsea and who knows it may even help Roman with his visa.

Yes, because if we gave some club a cut deal when we could get more money, we would be irritated at the club. Napoli's attitude towards the situation, however frustrating, is understandable.
