Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

No chance Conte to Real Madrid, he hasn't proven he can be successful with a back 4 so I'm not sure why they would want him.

Conte is a better league manager, so who knows, maybe Real Madrid would like him to come in and help win the league. On the other hand, there is murmurs that Wenger could replace Zizou.

Well it wouldn't take a huge leap to convert Madrid to a back 3.

Marcelo plays like a wingback already, they'd just need to sign another centreback.

Keep a front 3 of Isco, Ronaldo, Bale (or whoever).

I hope Wenger doesn't go there, he will be pushing for hazard.

I would love klopp or poch to get poached but I can't really see it.

Sarri, Enrique, Blanc, Conte, or Wenger I think.

Hopefully we secure our 1st option. It would be pretty disastrous if we miss out having waited too long to pull the trigger.

I'm not sure the fans would tolerate it, will be interesting if he does though. Hopefully he doesn't take Kante/Rudiger with him.

Juve and psg got managers, to early to be french manager, utd got the bitter one in charge, if  he stays on in management there is only one option, maybe the club knew something and have played a blinder? Then again it is Chelsea!

Zidane sees the writing on the wall at RM.  An aging squad and he's already reached the pinnacle of success 3 times.  Leaving now is his best option - always leave on a high note!

He will get a massive pay at his next job

I still prefer Sarri to Zidane, think Sarri is the next big thing.

I'd prefer Sarri too but Zidane quitting may change everything. Can see Sarri being in the running for Spurs, Liverpool, or Juventus. We may not have a new manager until after the World Cup.

Those odds are for Zidanes next job, that could be years away.

Not getting at you directly, mate, just this bit of your post struck a chord with me.

When will our present day fans realise that football success is a cyclical thing, it comes around and it goes around.  There is no rhyme nor reason to it, clubs come to  the top, stay there for a while and then have a period where they are less successful because  one or more other clubs have hit just the right note with regard to  player purchases, or youth promotion, or just good old-fashioned luck.  We were sh*t, and the dippers and the mancs were in the supremacy,  then L'Arse, then us and the mancs, then Citeh. Before all that it was Nottingham Forest and Villa.  FFS, even the Spuds and Leeds  won the league in black and white telly days.

In Europe, it swings between Real, Bayern and Barca, but it was Milan and Juve, then Inter and Ajax were doing great, and then PSG came along.

Just because we have been at the top,  doesn't mean we will  always be at the top,  regardless of however much money is spent, what great (or used to be great) players we buy, which top manager we persuade to  be here for a season and a half.  And that is what I mean by deriding the expectations and entitlement of a lot of our fans.

It will be what it will be.  We are not entitled to be top dogs forever, and that has nothing to do with Marina, or Conte, or Emenalo, or Kenyon, or anything other than that's just how it is, how it has always been and how it will always be.

Cyclical sh*t, my children, cyclical sh*t.

I'm not saying we are going to be at the top forever, that's almost impossible. Ferguson always had United up there but he didn't have them winning the title every season, that's kind of what I'm getting at. I think at this rate we are looking to be battling for top 4 for the next 4-5 years, maybe that's just me being overboard and entitled.

I never grew up in the era when we were sh*t so I've never had that lose 2 win 1 feel when following a club. I think you can quite easily say that United and City will be up for there for the next 10 years, fair? That's not to say City will win every season, or United to win every season or even both of them but they'll be up there. As for us I just can't see it if we keep going this way, granted we've won 2 titles in the past 4 years so it might seem a bit silly to say, but we've been very bipolar in the past 4 years. Up and down up and down, I just think the status at this club has taken a turn and I sadly can't see us competing with United and City.

Now I'm gutted at that feeling because I've never really known much else admittedly.

Wave Hazard goodbye then. And Willian and Courtois and Luiz and so on.

Not necessarily, Hazard may choose to say you know what f**k more money and f**k Real Madrid i'm staying. We may find out who wants to stick around no matter what the adversity is.

Looks like we could be slamming the financial breaks.

If there is any chance that Roman is starting to ponder about selling the club don't be surprised to see Conte remain in charge.

They're not going to throw £20m odd at changing manager when a new owner could potentially be on their way.

No, like I said, I was just using a bit of your post as it struck a chord with me.   I thought you were amongst the more rational posters in here, so no, not overboard and entitled.

I think you might be right about City, not so sure about United, and I'm not convinced of the 10 years, but 3 or 4 seasons at least. L'Arse might pull themselves together now that Wenger has gone,  and,  Jahweh preserve us, but the dippers might actually sort out their frailties enough to challenge.  All  we can be certain of in this life are death, taxes and Spurs bottling it when the pressure is on.

Hahaha I'm surprised at that actually, I do try my best to be rational but I do genuinely worry a lot also. It's just that some people on here make me look very rational because they're absolutely mental, I'm sure you know who.

When we got Mourinho back things were looking good, I was very confident, we can settle down with him as the gaffer and get him the players he wants. Sadly it didn't work out and I thought our last summer under Mourinho was very weird. Signing a crap player like Falcao on loan who was gash after his knee injury, I was just confused and since then I don't think we've really gone in a better direction. We seem to be very hit and miss in the market, can't make our mind up, whereas the other clubs have a plan and know what they're doing. Even United although I think they'll fall short under Mourinho, but as soon as he goes they'll get someone else who can actually make use of the good players they've got.
