Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

Yeah, but saying Conte has failed us is pretty absurd when you have no idea if that's the case or not.

I mean the bloke has won the FA Cup and the League since he has come here, whereas Klopp and Pochettino have won f**k all and they've had a head start.

Now don't get me wrong I think it's best if he moves on and we find a manager with different ideas, not somebody who's pragmatic and defensive minded, I think that style of play is outdated in the Premier League and it isn't going to work anymore. But I'm not going to pin all the blame on Conte for how the season went, and I'm not even sure if he failed us, because he could be right. What if the board didn't want to give him any of his targets and they gave him the impression that they would when he first came here? That would mean they failed him. We just don't know.

Not to come across ageist or anything, but Sarri will be 60 in January, do we really want to settle on somebody who's probably only going to manage us for a few years? We don't really sign managers with the intention of having them for 2-3 years, you have a long-term plan.

It would be better if we put our chips in with somebody who's younger I think and actually wants to make a go of it here for a long time.

Yes, yes we do.
As the past 15 years have shown.

The government sabotaged Roman pretty hard, result is no new stadium and no new manager, that also means no new big signings which will be the cause for Hazard and Courtois to leave the team for Madrid. It was fun while it lasted, looking forward to have Millwall as our biggest rival now, fun times ahead and no pressure to win any silverware ::ChELSeAFaN::

A bit dramatic. We still have a fantastic youth setup and a lot of money.

Conte is mostly to blame for the second half the season, he made decisions which was bad with any set of players you have, the board signing certain players only goes so far. I also have no doubt he made certain decisions to give a f**k you to the board, they was more than just baffling.

If we don't pay and Napoli don't budge, what happens?

Conflicting reports.

Everything from Napoli suing Sarri to Sarri suing Napoli, Sarri to pay off his contract (if he can), Sarri to remain at Napoli, Real Madrid to find easy agreement with ADL since ADL is pissed at Chelsea etc etc.

But if nothing happens today i think it will take a couple of weeks especially if we talking about legal actions.

It seems the club have been trying to call ADL's bluff. Because they know they've signed Ancelotti and probably trying to push ADL to accept less for the clause. At the moment ADL is refusing to budge, but who knows what will happen in the coming days.

ADL is as stubborn as they come. He's not going to give in for anything less than the clause.
Sounds like this is heading for a legal battle. That could take a while.

I saw similar reports to Napoli suing Sarri and I'm just shaking my head as to what the premise of their suit would be, but I'm sure there is some weird Italian law that allows the employer to sue the replaced employee for trying to find work for themselves while still being employed technically but having a replacement announced.

AdL really is a piece of work. You'd think after Sarri revived their chances for the Serie A title in recent years, he'd at least do the honorable thing and allow Sarri to quit after a very public announcement about Ancelotti. The 7m clause is nothing when he expects clubs to pay 70m for a CB

Really need some positive news.

Last summer there was negativity over costa, Lukaku, matic, Sandro, and we started the season poorly.

It seems this summer could be even worse.

Now we have shelved the stadium plan, missed out on the champions league, we have big players yet to sign new deals, we have no director of football, we have a manager with one foot out of door, and we are in stand off over his replacement.

Never a dull moment with this club.

Please can we have some positive news soon.

Discussions over a two-year deal with an option for a third season are understood to have progressed well, though Chelsea made it clear they would not meet the £7m release clause in Sarri’s contract, which was not terminated when #Napoli appointed his successor. (Guardian) #CFC

Laurent Blanc, who has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain two years ago, is now a prime candidate for the #Chelsea role. [Mail]

It is understood that if #Chelsea's search for a new boss remains a struggle, they may turn to Avram Grant, who remains a key member of Roman Abramovich’s inner sanctum. [Mail]

What?!!
