Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

Napoli Vice President today posted a “goodbye and good luck” message to Sarri on Instagram and then deleted it.

Prob means nothing though..

probably doing it to stir the pot.

According to my sauces, Mr Heinz and Mr HP, Roman thinks we’re all ungrateful w**kers after visiting fan forums and has decided to rehire Rafa, replace our first team with non-league part time players sell off what he can of SB and move us all to Kingsmeadow.

See I can make sh*t up too.

Sarri agent: 'Who are Chelsea?'
By Football Italia staff

Maurizio Sarri’s agent brushed off questions about Chelsea after talks reportedly broke down. “Are they a football club?”

The Coach was fired by Napoli to make way for Carlo Ancelotti, but under Italian rules, his contract remains valid until it is terminated by mutual consent.

There was the option of activating a release clause worth €8m, but that expired last night and therefore is no longer relevant.

Chelsea had been expected to pay the sum, but refused to go ahead with it, asking Sarri to extricate himself from the contract first.

Sportitalia caught up with Sarri’s agent, Alessandro Pellegrini, and he made some surprising comments when asked about the situation.

“I don’t know who Chelsea are, are they a football club? We only know about Napoli.”

This follows reports on Sky Sports that Chelsea were put off by Sarri's previous 'behaviour,' specifically a homophobic slur he aimed at Roberto Mancini.

Comments slightly out of context as under italian law, Chelsea are not allowed to negotiate with Sarri unless Napoli give permission. That would be why the lawyer is refusing to comment.

Also, I read that Marina is on holiday and returns on Monday. Surely this is her busiest time of the year, who authorised her leave?!!

Who said she was on holiday?

If we end up hiring Laurent Blanc I'm going to have a to take a few years off.

He won't last a few years. Take a fortnight off.

Simon Phillips comment:

“This will be a real legal battle if Chelsea are to get Sarri. Unless one of the parties lays down, this could go on some more yet. But how badly do Chelsea want Sarri? Guess we’ll find out...”

I'm not impressed with Sarri's motivation to manage us at all ... I mean, why hasn't he bought HIMSELF out of his Napoli contract ? :-)

8 million Euros to offset against his 3 year contract at £6M a year ... not exactly going to starve is he LOL

It's not emotional bias, it's sound business sense. They regularly ask for too much for players and don't negotiate. Why deal with an entity like that? Especially when there are much better clubs to deal with.

They are entitled to ask for what they want for THEIR ASSETS.

Would you pay over a year's salary to change jobs?

Not a decision de take lightly.

And we are entitled to not do business with them if we think they are unreasonable. We don't have to do business with them if it's in our best interests not to and considering how this saga has gone it's probably in our best interests not to. I don't really care about them asking for whatever they want from their assets, I think we should avoid them in the future considering how hard it is to get a good deal for ourselves.

Well what on his resume particularly impresses you?

He won the league with Bordoux. He also outperformed Ancelotti at PSG and got to the QF of the Euro's with France (Lost to eventual winners spain). He has a really high win percentage as well.

Well that's a decision that's got nothing to do with you or "we" but there is zero logical reasoning to say anything negative abut how Napoli have handled this situation.

You know where you stand with them, they will sell players they are happy to sell and if you want a player they want to keep you better a) hope he has a release clause and b) pay it, Higuain for example.

They don't mess around or dress things up, which for the people on the business side of clubs probably makes them much easier to deal with than most clubs. You ask a question and you get told the answer and it doesn't change. Much better than most clubs who will say "not for sale" but what they mean is "not for sale at your current offer".

Sky Sports really seem invested in making any appointment of Sarri a poison chalice, What a scummy outfit they've turned into. Pretty much the TV version of the Sun.

Oh and Laurent Blanc? Grade A plonker. If we end up screwing up and not getting Sarri, next year is going to be horrendous.

I hope this chain smoking old fart is worth all the hassle in appointing, to be honest in my opinion it's a disaster waiting to happen.
