Rest all you like barca are going to make mincemeat out of us. No big petr, jt,  lamps or drogba to save our buts.

Our only realistic chance of winning a trophy this one, if city mess up and get knocked out that is but with a famous quadrople on I reckon pep won't likely let that happen.

We played and beat barca with a much weaker team than this. 

Complete rest to the whole team to play not just barca but 4 big games consecutively. Need a rest for that, physically and mentally.

I would play both the strikers as they both lack match fitness. Giroud looked good against WBA but then ended up as completely exhausted. I would want him to get as much game time as possible. Hence the 3-4-1-2.

Going down to the Bridge for this, hoping to see a debut for Emerson and a run-out for some of the youngsters.

It will be interesting to see how Conte plays the striker situation - play Morata to bring him closer to match fitness despite the fact that we play again on Tuesday or risk Giroud?

 

I am also going down to the Bridge for this one. Hope to see some minutes for Emerson and Hudson-Odoi. 

I expect the lineup to be something like this -

Willy, Cahill, Rudiger, Luiz, Emerson, Alonso, Drinkwater, Barkley/Bakayoko, Pedro, Giroud, Willian.

 

Friday night game is perfect. Gives us the weekend to relax and prepare for FC. Barcelona.

Its an important trophy to win so I hope Antonio doesn't rest too many players and it ends up in a draw and replay.

The starting XI should be still good enough to knick it. Drinkwater, Luiz, Cabalero, Willian, Morata, Emerson, and Rudiger should all feature. And maybe bring on some starters near the end. 

And FC. Barcelona are making mincemeat out of nobody. This game is going to be a hell of a lot closer than what people think. We matchup well against FC. Barcelona. Like I said before, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if it ends up 1-0 or 2-1 on aggregate. The only way it would be a beat down is if we went toe to toe with them. But that's never ever going to happen. It will be a typical Chelsea v FC. Barcelona tie.

Fancy a beer before the game Plokkers? I plan on going to the Chelsea Pensioner or the Cock Tav if you fancy it? 

Can see a few players getting some minutes under there belt I.e morata/giroud

This is our most realistic chance of a trophy. Win this and hopefully not lose to Barca and I would be happy.

Play Giroud.  I feel like Morata looked hungrier once he saw there was a striker Conte might actually play ahead of him and who did well in the team play.  I mean not only did he become match fit so fast, he actually staye don his feet and looked like he wanted to take t to the other team.

I know what your saying, plenty say the same, but i don't think it's true tbh.

You know when you have been off work skiving for a bit and you go back in, the first day your keen as mustard again, showing everyone how it's done. Don't last long tho does it ?

We have very different first days back   I'm thinking "how did I end up back here?!?!?!" or "I've got to have another sick day left...."

 

One way or another, I do hope it lasts for the rest of the season!

Sure thing mate! There are a few of us coming down but we should be there a few hours before the game. I'll PM you tomorrow once I've got a better idea of our plans (beyond drinking a few cans on the coach)

Nice one mate I'm travelling up from Cheltenham with the Mrs (her first game) so will try to get there for 5/6pm.

Conte has said Ampadu and CHO will both be given starts on Friday, christ i'm excited for this.

Conte on using youngsters tomorrow: "In the Carabao Cup and also FA Cup, I gave them the chance to play. We are talking about two of the best players from our academy. We are talking about Ampadu, it is not difficult to predict a brilliant future, same for Hudson-Odoi"

Conte says Trevoh Chalobah, Dujon Sterling and Kyle Scott will also be part of the squad ahead of the game. Possibles for the bench.

 

Conte on injuries: "Bakayoko is out, Luiz is out and Barkley is out. Then I have a couple of situations that I have to check

 

Conte says Morata has come through his back problem after being used against West Brom. He will play some part against Hull City but is unlikely to complete 90 minutes.

 

Conte on rotation with Barcelona coming: "We have in front of us two weeks that are very tough, for this reason it is right to have a programme and a plan to face these two weeks in the right way but as you know, we want to try to go through to the next round of the FA Cup"

I  would like to see us go with a decent enough strong team,,my thinking of this is probs our last chance of some silverware this season,,,,maybe put out 5/6  first teamers few fringe ones and a couple of the younger ones,,, that shud be enough to see of Hull,,
