A statement added: "The Blue Football Consortium brings together a wealth of global sports, technology, strategic planning, real estate, financial and management expertise, access to capital and global resources to ensure that Chelsea can compete on the world stage for years to come.

"With global investors including South Korea's Hana Financial Group and C&P Sports Group, Mr Candy's consortium composition matches his vision for the club: to combine the global outlook required to compete in a global game, whilst ensuring the values, heritage and legacy of this highly respected club are preserved for future generations.

"Mr Candy believes the proposed offer provides the ability to transfer stewardship of Chelsea seamlessly and efficiently, at an attractive valuation, to a committed and credible group with considerable global resources to continue the development of the club which has been so successful since 2003.

"The group will be visible and responsible shareholders and through Mr Candy in particular, the consortium will have a truly local, on-the-ground presence and an inherent understanding of the club's rich heritage from a supporter with a lifelong affinity to the club."

Candy then commented: "Chelsea is one of the most iconic and successful professional football clubs in the world, with a rich heritage, global following, and a highly valuable brand.

"Football clubs are vitally important community and cultural assets, and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give football back to the fans and put them at the heart of the operations and strategy of a leading global football club.

"I believe Chelsea has all of the fundamentals to become the most valuable and respected sports club in the world and a force for the greater good in everything it does."

Surely they mean that Liverpool is already that team? How dare they think that we can take that place? We’re all against them, poor them.

- Preferably I don’t want the Saudis, I cant be bothered with another circus around our ownership.
- The Candy bid sounds like a mess
- Boehly’s the only one I’ve seen that seems sound. It can be done quickly and they have the funds to invest

The final 3 for Roman to chose from? Me thinks so.

Candy saying he wants to keep Marina and Buck, and wants the transfer strategy to be the same where we spend to win. Hes saying all the right things, but hard to tell whether its politician speak.

Not heard his promises regarding the bridge yet.

Also mentioned in priorities is how quickly each can close the deal. I don't want them myself but apparently BWG would be able to close the deal in time for Brentford and so we should have fans vs Real.

A consortium led by British businessman Sir Broughton has also submitted a formal bid. Lord Coe announced on Wednesday that he will also be joining the bid headed by the former British Airways chairman.

"I am assembling a team that will ensure the future success and financial stability of a club I've supported for over 60 years," Sir Broughton commented.

"We will secure a prompt purchase and smooth transition, with funds readily available for the immediate takeover of the club and immediate investment in the team, facilities, and commercial opportunities. I believe I am the right person to lead Chelsea Football Club as we start this new chapter for the club.

"I have a track record of success in boardrooms throughout my career and I have done this before. I remain the only person to have effected a change of ownership at a major football club in a similar situation, which I did at Liverpool 12 years ago.

"But most importantly, as a lifelong fan, I am committed to ensuring Chelsea maintains its preeminent position at the top of European football and making sure we put fans first."

Sir Broughton, 74, has been a major figure in British business for decades, running British American Tobacco and then becoming chairman of British Airways.

He now chairs Sports Investment Partners, a private investment firm which has backed businesses in areas such as sports technology and event management.

Sir Broughton brokered the sale of Liverpool Football Club during a similar crisis 12 years ago. As the state-controlled Royal Bank of Scotland was the club's biggest lender at the time, he became the first and only person to steer a change of ownership at a Premier League football club involving the UK government.

I find it interesting all the main parties are campaigning but Saudi Media are saying absolutely nothing.

Either they are very confident in their package or they are out of the race.

Not hearing any more about the Saudis now.

The British media aren't covering them. For example Sky Sports are deliberately shadowing them out of their recent articles for example.

And for the Saudis they don't need to say anything right now.

Here I am my dear forum colleagues, after a short (forced) break.

Whatever happens regarding the ownership, hard and unpredictable times are ahead of us. We are being depicted as the no. 1. public enemy at the moment. Personally I'm still not quite sure which of these alleged offers would be in our best interest, as they all have their flaws. However a solution has to be found ASAP and I hope that is going to be before that Brentford game.

The only right thing to do for us is to get behind this team as loud as we can. They are our heroes. And to sing Roman's name, every single game.

No thing can destroy this club!

It is my belief the PL will block their bid.

Where does the money from the sale go? anyone know :search:

Probably will be kept frozen along with his mansion until he can find a legal way to get it back or if not then the gov might swallow it.

They are not allowed to block the Saudis because they are Saudis though. They need to have a valid reason to block the bid.
