It is indeed. Some great tracks, " I can see for miles" , " Mary Ann with the etc etc"

There's a story associated with the "Armenian City in the sky" track, whether it's the lyrics I can't for the life of me remember now.

Saw The Who loads of times, most memorably at The Valley in the 70s. . My favourite live videos are Woodstock and Monterrey which is the best of the lot I reckon.

Saw them in Melbourne in 1968 supported by the Small Faces. Splendiferous. The Small Faces were sh*t. Marriott was so drunk he could hardly stand up. Come the guitar smashing at the end, Moon kicked over the drum kit and hurled his sticks like javelins into the audience. Health & Safety. My mate stuck his paw in the air and caught one. Wouldn't give it to me. c**t.

I love the small faces. Never saw them, but saw Marriott with Humble Pie once. .

They had a couple of great years though, Marriott wrote some bangers at a very young age, shame they were pony when you saw them

Oh for f**ks sake, why? What is the point, for whose benefit is the ludicrous name?

I believe it's so that some parasitic marketing twonk can say "look, I did a thing!" and make a Linkedin post about it. Either that, or Harry Hudson is just a massive Star Trek fan.

The Small Faces finished up primarily a studio band. You couldn’t reproduce Itchycoo Park on stage. Marriott had his demons. They caught up with him.

No doubt their valuation of Chelsea is inflated, but this is proof that you don't need football success for the club to increases in value

""The consortium bought Chelsea for £2.5 billion ($3.4B) in 2022 with a further £1.75 billion ($2.4B) committed to investment in the club after former owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by alleged ties to Russia president Vladimir Putin following the country's invasion of Ukraine.

Sources have told ESPN that Walter and Boehly value the club at around double the figure paid four years ago.""

Valuations really ought to be based on something tangible, rather than on the opinion of the seller !

Clearlake will buy into it though I imagine, as it is in their interests to support the fantasy narrative that the whole club has doubled in value.

They're selling the Academy aren't they? Is this even possible?

Perhaps CFC LDN is a red herring, and they want to build the new stadium at Cobham, and rename the first team as Cobham All Stars ! The Cobham Next Generation then makes sense !

No suggestion would be too stupid for Clearlake LOL

Sure they can, the same way they sold the womens' team and hotels to themselves. All they need to do is have Clearlake "invest" 1bn in Kinetic Academy, then sell the Chelsea academy to Kinetic.

This is what Real Madrid did 25 years ago - sold their academy grounds and training grounds to the local council, then bought it back for a penny. Hey presto, instant money!

Part of the asset stripping we were told that they weren't doing because they were selling to themselves. However wit Boehly and Walter going then surely BlueCo no longer seems viable as an entity and is now overloaded with asset. Next step?

Nothing changes at the BlueCo level. Clearlake just becomes the sole or increased majority shareholder (If Wyss keeps his stake). Being the sole owner gives them more liberty to raise equity, nothing to stop them from selling the other 30% of the holding company to external investors.

The club level is more affected, because Clearlake potentially now have two more voices on the board of the club, giving them a clear majority. That is a problem since they could vote to divert revenues to the holding company without having to convince another shareholder.

I think we need to be careful here, they can sell the land/ground/facilities but arent allowed to sell the actual Academy set up as its licensed under the FA, I think.

Our financially astute owners/investors surely wouldn't be making up a fantasy valuation for our football club would they ?

😂

Good point. Which is what Madrid did too. BlueCo could sell Cobham to Kinetic or some other third-party, and then rent it back from them on a long lease.
