Near certainty we do not make top 4.
Our record away from home against the top half teams is appalling. You can be pretty sure we wont beat United and Leicester, least that is how I feel. I think we finish 6th.
If we can make the final and face Valencia or Napoli we have a chance. If it is Arsenal I don't see Sarri getting the better of them.

I agree with you, can't see us beating Arsenal in the final or Sarri beating Emery in a final.

I just don't understand why people think this.

We were a pen shoot out from beating a team far superior to us. We could have won the game in 120 minutes. We beat Tottenham over two legs in the semis. We aren't sh*t!

What is it about Emery and arsenal that makes everyone think they will be impossible to beat because Sarri is our manager.

Emery isn't a magician because Sevilla won a couple of Europa leagues and Sarri isn't an idiot because pep beat him on penalties. A significant number of arsenal fans don't like Emery and a lot of people are questioning if Arsenal have actually improved this season. Personally I think Napoli will beat them, but if they don't I can see us beating Arsenal 2 or 3 nil in a final. I really don't rate arsenal as a team.

The club show a lot of patience nowadays, Jose lasted til Dec and Conte the whole second season.

Haha, even the board new they gotta allow Conte to finish the season so they can at least win a trophy. That's not patience, that's wisdom!

Ironically the first cup competition he ever won.

But Conte = born winner, knows how to win trophies. Sarri = bumbling idiot who wets himself at the thought of a final.

Some people place too much emphasis on narratives.

For those who are ardent Sarri out

Would you rather Sarri stays or Javi Garcia replaces him?

Think that's an obvious answer. Anyone who is ardent Sarri out, they would probably take Pardew never mind Garcia!!

He has certainly done an impressive job at Watford this season.

I dunno. I feel a lot of the Sarri outers assume we'd pick up a top top manager who has won European cups or at least league titles. Not someone who has had a good time at Watford

Problem is he signed Higuain. Why bother loaning a player he wanted the club to sign in the summer if he doesn’t trust his qualities in the big game?

He keeps on using the excuse that he needs someone on the flanks to do the defensive work in big games, but I think Jorginho in that deep role against the Top 6 is of a bigger concern. You move Kante deeper and Kovacic covering on the left behind Hazard, and we look more balanced.

You need to give your best player the best chance to shine in a big game, playing him out of position did exactly the opposite. Even Sarri has no faith in strikers ( especially the one he signed), he should pick someone else ( anyone else) to play as a striker instead of Hazard. He took our best player out of the game with that decision, and there was now way back. It's not like this hasn't happened before, I just don't understand why it took so long for him to realise it, or has he? Surprisingly after 2 goals down, he put Higuain in, when everyone knew he'd contribute nothing at all. If the play against Liverpool was to defend and play counter, Jorginho shouldn't have played, or at least move Kante back to play the double pivot. Ok, I'm going too far here, Sarri probably never played with another system apart from the one he knows.

There aren't too many of those about and we've already had a fair few of them.

I'm still undecided on Sarri and a lot depends on the next month or so. If we fail to finish top 4 and don't win the Europa, then I would be inclined to replace him and to be honest I think we could do a lot worse than Garcia, so he would be in the frame.

He used to play 4-2-3-1. No idea why he has only ever used it very rarely here. It suits our players better and its the system he used permanently at Empoli.

I remember before the cup final the narrative was "no way will Conte lead us to victory given his record in cups and Jose's record in finals".

Rumours are Allegri will be available in the summer but that means after a season of trying to change our whole identity we’ve basically gone ‘f**k it’ and reverted to type.

God No! His brand of football makes a José team look like prime Barca.

It's a results business playing nice football doesn't win games.

Not that I'm on the Sarri out bandwagon if he gets another year to prove himself so be it, but I think someone like Allegri would command a lot more respect and would be better tactically in the big games.

It would be foolish to just overlook him because of his style of football.

Allegri will not last half a season here. His football is boring as hell. Only reason he has done well with Juve is because Conte build the foundation and Juventus is by far the best team in italy. If Sarri is indeed fired at the end of the season the Ajax manager deserves to be looked at as this Ajax team is outstanding young team with beautiful quick football.

Never won a trophy. sh*t manager.

Yep. And according to the logic of some Alfred Hitchcock must have been a lousy film director because he never won an Oscar.

Edit: Not to mention Quentin Tarantino and Ridley Scott. Good job they’re not football managers, bunch of ....... losers the lot of ‘em.

Weird comparison, film directors and football managers.

I assume when you say they've never won an Oscar you're referring to "best director", which in this analogy would be the equivalent of winning manager of the year.

Because if we're using this analogy Tarantino and Scott's films (the team effort) have 14 Academy Awards between them.

That won’t make a jots difference to the “ boring game of football but we got three points and that’s all that matters innit” brigade.

Neither of them won Best Director.

To be fair, I think Sarri did once win employee of the month when working at a Bank back in the '90's.

Heard he got the sack after been caught multiple times smoking in the toilets that's how he perfected the art of chewing on the butts now instead.

Mental that our Youth Team knocked Ajax youth team consisting of De Ligt, Van De Beek, De Jong and Kluivert out of the European competition a few years ago. Shows what consistent game time for talented youngsters can achieve down the line. Glad we've got Sarri giving minutes to CHO and RLC now. If he must go, bring someone in to continue this trend.
