Yeah, he does not come across as a guy who is in charge.  The visuals are that he talks a lot, gives instructions and directions, but the players just go do what they want.

Also writes a lot on that price of paper on touchline, f**k knows what's on it, as it certainly not a tactical switch that will fool the opposition, unless he works for opta on the side and is counting all the passes for them.

He’s doing sudoku to help him pass the time.

I don't know how this baffles so many people. Most top coaches do it. He's most likely writing down things he does & doesn't like during the game and probably the time it happened so he can easily reference it after the game.

I have serious doubts about Sarri but I also don't think things will improve if we just bring in a different manager. We might get a bounce in the short term but we saw that with Sarri's start too. The problems at the club are deeper rooted than the manager.

Second Premier league team this year to reach 100 goals after City. All that without a Striker. Not bad.

Even though I can bet this is a statistical fact, why am I still finding this so hard to believe?

And how old the players are! That's really, really important. You don't want too many youngsters!

Ajax performances in the Champions League would say otherwise.

Do you guys agree with this?

>"I know very well [the] Premier League is very difficult," Sarri said. "For getting in the final of the League Cup, too, we had to play against Liverpool, against Tottenham, the final against Manchester City. It was easier to get to the final of the Champions League, I think."

"I think many give the Champions League too much importance," Sarri added. "Of course, it is the most important competition for clubs, but it is a competition with straight elimination, so sometimes you need a post in or a post out to qualify or to be eliminated.

"So we need to play very well but you need to be lucky in that competition. I can understand if you stay in the Champions League is another world probably.

"I have played two times in Champions League and it's clear it's the most important competition for clubs in Europe and as a consequence in the world I think, but it’s a competition in which you need to be lucky.

I agree with him in the sense that winning the Champions League doesn't mean you are the best team in Europe since there is an element of luck involved from the draw, not facing all the teams, etc. However, I disagree with him in terms of importance. Football has become as much a business as it is a sport and getting far in the champions league gives your club more exposure around the world, more revenue, more prestige, and players will be more likely to join your club. On the other hand, if you don't qualify you could lose money, sponsorships, and people will be less likely to join you.

But he actually said its the most important for clubs, so you do agree with him.

Every cup competition has an element of luck, much more than a league season, so I agree 100% with him.

Its bloody hard to win. Look at the multiple heartaches we had when we were at our peak.

Matches like City-Spurs do make it special however. Those Barca and other heavyweight contests we had were massive.

They have expierenced players to balance it out (Blind, Tadic, Huntelaar etc)

What a beautiful sunny day in London today and when i checked the score arsenal lost, man utd lost 4-0 haha amazing for us.

Some of us looked at Solskjaer at the beginning and how well he was doing, some thought perhaps if we changed Sarri we could get similar results with a Solskjaer type manager. Grass always looks greener in the other side until it aint. If we get top 4 i would be delighted with Sarri as he has being the only manager in the Roman era  willing to play the kids, he has no potent striker, had no pre-season, changing the style of football to more attacking which is not easy in the first season. If we can add a decent striker and either ziyech of ajax or nicolas pepe providing that we are allowed to sign players we would be a very decent team next year as Cho and loftus cheek would be a year older and more experienced too.

Those heartaches prove his point really. The team that won us our CL was nowhere near the best team in the world, yet several times when we were arguably the best team in the world we lost out.

Because it takes in to account the dross we’ve played in the Europa league and smashed 8 goals past etc. It’s still an impressive stat but worth noting most of the other teams have been in the CL against better opposition.

So Sarri Out-people a question: what if we make top 4 and win EL? Or even one or the other?

If we make the top four it’ll be as much due to the failures of teams around us as any sort of achievement on our part.

Finishing in the top four, for a club of our stature should be a bare minimum not something to be celebrated but poor management has got us to a point where it’s become an aspiration rather than an expectation.

Should we finish top four I don’t think it’s reason enough on it’s own to continue with Sarri.

What stature?

We have the smallest stadium. The fewest international starters in our team.

There is no reason we should automatically come top 4 when you have a settled team in Tottenham, united who spend more than anyone, plus city and Liverpool who are set up top to bottom perfectly.

If we get 75+ points and come top 4 then that's a good season. Anyone who thinks it's Sarri who has prevented this rabble doing any better, is very misguided.
