Brighton vs Chelsea (PL) Wed 1st Jan 12:30 GMT

Fairly low key game really. Not a lot of atmosphere and limited real quality for us going forward.

Not sure I agree with all the posts about Kante having a shocker. Yes he has misplaced a couple of passes but equally so has Jorginho, James, Mount and Pulisic.

What Kante has done is cover every blade of grass across the width to support the full backs when Brighton come forward and it has helped us enormously as he has prevented Brighton getting early and quick balls into the box, things we aren't good at dealing with.

Bar a couple of flashy turns I'd say it's Pulisic who isn't at the races

Think we should be 2-0 up by now, we have had enough chances.
They put us under pressure late second and we wobbled.
Jorgy again lucky to not get a yellow.........
I would be tempted to take off Mount and bring on CHO with Pulisic playing in Mount's position.
I agree with everything you said about the number of chances. We haven't created anything like enough actual efforts on goal.

Tammy is going for the golden boot unfortunately rather than the team.

He takes on one chance instead of passing and you come up with that conclusion, pathetic.

This wouldn't be a terrible idea

You know this theory that teams save up their worldies for us....I was watching the top 10 goals of last season and 4 out of the 10 were into us...20 teams and 4 of the goals of the season into us

I think Pulisic has hardly seem the ball, everything has gone down the right. Mount has hardly been in it either.

Kante is looking a bit like a headless chicken. It's not controlled pressure from him and he's leaving holes in the midfield. His passing isn't my biggest concern, my biggest concern is how easy he is to play against now. He looks weak, his tackles don't stick, he over runs the ball, his positioning is all over the place. It's like he is a given free roam to do what he wants, but he's never where we need him to be in defence or attack. He looks confused on what he should be doing.

I agree, whenever Pulisic gets the ball, we seem to build momentum, and tbh that looked like a foul on him.

I'd agree he has had limited service. Possibly due to Azpilicueta's lack of natural inclination to get forward on left hand side. So maybe it is a little harsh on Pulisic but when he has had the ball he has looked out of sorts

Pulisic has made some good blocks and slipped his marker once and has been involved in the interplay near the box with one shot off target.

For me he looks on form today.

Like most of the team, he is performing well in moments. Pulisic, Willian, Mount, Abraham, James, they are all having decent moments, but it's not consistent. We need somebody to step up and take control of the game.

This. He's playing like the anti-Kante. Kante used to be the player that's always at the right place at the right time but ever since he's discovered his attacking talent, he's trying to be everywhere at once on defense and attack.

Brighton have gone more attacking . They obviously feel they can get something out of this. Our biggest failing is keeping the opposition in the game. It isn't just scoring goals against them but if we were creating more Brighton probably wouldn't have made such an attacking change.

I would bring Kovacic on for Kante if we don't improve in the next ten minutes.

At the back we always look so awkward when we pass it round the back four, especially Zouma.
