Not happy with Kante starting, but I'm happy he's at least gone with the same team as last time, not too many changes. Really not sure why Lampard is so against going back to the Jorgi and Kova pivot though.

Agreed. He must be hoping James/CHO can cause enough issues down the right to break them down as it doesn't look as if that will come through the centre.

Reece and CHO can cause a lot of damage. The trouble is, is that Newcastle will sit deep again and go on the counter, games like this is where Kante doesn't play to his best. I hope Lampard has made the right choice here.

I really hope so, with the games coming up we could do with the points. S

Kante could sit back and cover the Reece James sized hole at right back :laugh2:

Whats up with Kovacic not starting anymore?

It's weird. At one point, I was saying Jorginho was our player of the season, then he was dropped for a bit and I changed to Kovacic, and now he's been dropped. I gotta admit, I'm struggling to understand what Lampard is doing dropping our players when they are in good form.

Leave our reece alone, or consequences

I really hope we aren't going to end up in a Rooney/United situation with Kante in the coming years (ala he plays no matter what because of how good he was/is at his absolute best).

He shouldn't have walzed back in the lineup after such a convincing win without him last week.

Weird thing is, we've got Arsenal on Tuesday, why not play Kante for that which he'll be best for? Give him an extra rest, instead we've rushed him back for this with the risk of him having another injury. I would've definitely wanted him to start against Arsenal 100%.

I didn’t mean it in a negative way! It’s good he gets forward because he’s very effective so having a bit of defensive cover on that side of midfield is a good move.

As long as the lads dont go out in some orange socks and strange design shirts 3 away points are on the menu today

Finally someone who shares my sock obsession! I want the blue ones for away games

In theory you would think so, though I am sometimes shocked to see Willian sprinting back with Kante upfield.

Munkworth might have it right that part of his instruction is to allow Reece to go forwards. I think Frank is a smart guy so their will be logic in his selection though it might not do the business without furthering tinkering with subs.

I usually just have a quick look on Awaygames.co.uk if I’m not sure about away pubs. To be fair, you can normally hear if there are Chelsea fans in there when you get close :good2:

Yeah, you were right. Easy to find our lads ?

Really surprised Kovacic seems to be permanently out of the team. Until Kante came back he was our POTY by a distance.

Don't understand it and Kante-Jorginho have never been a great combination so we'll see how it works out. Definitly wouldn't have been my choice.
